Stayed here for 10 nights and was very disappointed. We booked a deluxe king studio suite and it was very small not at all like in the pictures or what I was expecting, so I can't imagine what a standard room is like! The kitchen area only had a microwave, limited cutlery was provided but no knives, and no tea towels or washing up liquid. The communal areas were spotlessly clean and the room was clean to start and new looking too. However the housekeeping left a lot to be desired, it was terrible, our room was serviced about 4 times in 10 days and only then because we made a point of asking in reception, because even though we put the please service my room label on the door they only ever did it once without asking. Therefore the rubbish built up which was pretty disgusting especially as you can't put paper down the toilet! We saw other rooms leaving bags of rubbish outside the door to be taken away! So most evenings we came back to an uncleaned room and had to ask for a toilet roll (they are very tight with them giving only one tiny one at a time which with 2 women sharing does not last long that we had to buy our own!). We also had to keep asking for our complimentary water and had to ask for clean towels as when we left them on the floor to be replaced of course housekeeping didn't come in. After a week our bed sheets still had not been changed even when we asked for a service so I had to specifically ask for them to be changed. The aircon works great which is appreciated, but it is very noisy and like a gale force wind, you can't turn it onto quiet mode (unlike in other places we stayed in Thailand where it also worked great but was quiet, so it was hard to sleep the first couple of nights. There were 2 TVs but they didn't work well, the one in the bedroom only worked on the aerial so was grainy and the one in the living area worked on digital but both only had Thai channels so were pointless (again unlike other places we stayed which had smart TVs and or a selection of channels in English too). The staff were all friendly but I'm sorry to say that most of them, not all, seemed a bit lazy and not that helpful (I don't know names but the lady who checked us in and the guy who checked us out were helpful when they were around) . There were loads of staff that seemed to be sitting around chatting a lot, and most didn't speak English (I'm not sure about other languages but I doubt it), so it was difficult to communicate at times. This is not good in a large accommodation block with foreign tourists and so we didn't use them at all to book trips or transport we did this in town. The lift was also broken on our floor the 5th floor for a few days so even though we reported it it wasn't fixed and we had to lug our heavy suitcases down one flight to get the lift, no one came to help us. Breakfast was ok, quite limited but fine, though one morning they ran out of the little packets of butter and just said to me they didn't have any butter! A little later they did think to put some out in a bowl but at first they just said no. The pool area was nice and clean and towels provided were good. But there aren't many sun loungers and they were all full so I didn't really spend much time here, plus it's hard to swim in the pool as it's quite small and if there are kids playing in it you can't really swim so I preferred the beach. The location is ok, and quiet, it's about 20 minutes walk into town/Ao Nang beach but there is also a shuttle bus every hour to drop you there up until 9pm. Although for some reason the return pick ups are only every 2-3 hours which doesn't make sense as if the shuttle is going there every hour anyway why not pick people up every hour on the way back? Again it seems a bit lazy of them... one day we were unsure and waiting for the return that a shuttle driver from another hotel gave us a lift instead, as ours was so sporadic. It is walkable if you are quite fit, but it is a bit of a trek and in the heat it can get tiring. Tuk tuk drivers try to rip you off and charge 200 baht for a 5 min (if that) journey, we bartered to 150 most times but they were reluctant. Overall we were quite disappointed with Phu Dahla, but it's a nice apartment block and it could be really good if only they weren't so stingy with things, staff were more attentive and they dramatically improve their housekeeping... unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it until they do so.…
I rented a master suite but it failed to deliver what it should have delivered, therefore i was not happy with my stay and would look elsewhere next time. The TV's don't don't work properly its NOT a luxurious condominium, cooking food is only in microwave. Housekeeping is poor, room smells from odor in drain, Noisy air conditioning.....many thinks are an inconvenience for my stay.
Have a great stay. Friendly Staff, clean room. Only the toilet smell.. I believe thats something you know but not doing anything. Hopefully the next time im there its better. Room are spacious, good food ard the corner 😊 The pool are great with nice view
The staff was incredibly friendly and service minded. The room was just as expected (ref. the review below). I did not use the breakfast buffet (I booked w/o), so n/a for reviewing this. The spa was overpriced compared to the local massage places nearby. Gym was OK; average for hotel-gyms. A great amount of offered services such as bike rental, free shuttle bus to the beach, taxi, tour info etc. The accomandation price was decent of its standards, and location. I walked to the beach every day (15 minutes ish). I'm happy to recommend this to others. Thank you!
Please don’t go here!! The room does not look as in the pictures. We booked deluxe double bed room and it was far away from what the pictures show. It was a standard bed room with kitchen, no decoration, no paintings and in addition it smelled weird in the room (maybe plastic or chemicals). We immediately checked out because we didn’t want to spent here a night. So please go book something else in Ao Nang.
