One of the bigger, newer & more family friendly hotels inAo Nanga beach area (ie. no drunken backpackers)
Beautiful hotel with a great location, just meters of the main road so away from the hustle & bustle but still very walkable. Tons of halal eateries nearby, from cheap eats to more expensive dining.
Service was great, lots of halal options at breakfast. Staff are attentive and friendly. They have a nifty mobile app that you install on your phone, using this you can arrange your room cleaning, book tours, view activity time tables etc etc. I found it quite nifty and helpful!
Room was clean and spacious, wifi worked great and fast!
We stayed for a full week, with 2 nights in a regular room and the rest in the room with whirlpool. Great experience having your own private jacuzzi like whirlpool
They have a friendly (and honest) tour booking desk, with the rains she discounted quite a bit and we did the emerald pools/tiger temple tour. The island hopping unfortunately had to be cancelled due to bad weather. A refund was given without hesitation.
Definitely going to return here in the less rainy seasons.

We stayed at the Panan for four nights. We had an interconnecting room with twin beds for our kids and a king size bed for us. Our room also had a living room, although comfort was definitely not the focus when the living room was designed - it had a very odd narrow sofa, which definitely didn’t encourage relaxing!
Each bedroom had a terrace and a bathroom, both with showers, ours also had a jacuzzi bath, although we didn’t try this. The beds were comfortable with nice duvets and pillows.
The rooms were clean, and bright. We would have appreciated a side table for the king size bed, and it’s a bit odd having to step into the bath to adjust the blind in the bathroom, but these are minor complaints. The air con worked very well in all rooms, and an empty mini-fridge allowed us to stock up on cold drinks.
The hotel itself seemed to have a lot of rooms, but never felt busy around the ground floor pool. It doesn’t get a lot of sunshine during the day, and the pool is on the chilly side. There is a kids pool, which is almost exclusively in the shade. Our kids (5 and 7) used this a little, but it is quite limited. The main pool has an ‘infinity’ style end to it, which overlooks the kids pool, but it actually felt quite dangerous. There are bean bags in the pool, which easily slide over the edge into the kids pool, and as the kids pool is only 46cm deep, you certainly wouldn’t want to slip over with a bean bag!
The rooftop pool was quieter, it chilly when the wind got up.
Breakfast was ok, but felt a bit limited. The cooks at the omelette station had a very narrow repertoire, the coffee was from a vat, so no cappuccino, latte etc. Fresh fruit never included mango, banana, pomelo, rambutans etc.
We avoided the buffet dinners, and ate out so can’t comment on the quality, but they were about the same price as a meal with drinks at the local restaurants, but without the drinks.
Our kids enjoyed the kids club on one of the days we were there, but it seemed aimed at younger children.
Overall a nice, but fairly basic hotel for a few days.

I can honestly say that this is the best hotel we have stayed in.
All staff are amazing, from the lovely guy who checked us in ( sorry, I know your name began with H!) to the waiting staff ( Nee, Messi, Zongla and Nah) who welcomed us every day with smiles, conversation and fantastic service....and a 5* breakfast! We are both vegetarian, and the choice was fabulous!
The room and the comfy bed was huge, with a great view of the swimming pool, and we had pool towels, slippers and dressing gowns for our daily swim in one of the 3 pools.
Tim and all the housekeeping staff kept our room super clean, and were fun to talk to.
We also enjoyed the gym which although small, had all the equipment we needed.
The location was perfect as the hotel is set back from the road, so no noise at night, and very close to the beach front, shops, bars/ restaurants.
We hired a scooter from Mr Kord which my partner said was the best hire bike he's had ( we come to Thailand every year for 6 months, so hire many bikes!)
NAT the security guard/ parking attendant always looked out for us and was a pleasure to talk to!
We will definitely be returning to the Panan on our next visit to Ao nang.

We ended up staying at Panan for 3 nights. Rooms are clean but very basic. The corridor feel like a dorm corridor and there is a very strong sewer smell. The hotel is definitely not a 4 star. What made our experience the worst, was the staff. On our first night we asked for a roll of toilet paper and the front desk staff said they will get the housekeeping to bring us one, but that didn't happened.
We were initially supposed to stay for 5 nights but due to coronavirus flight cancellations, we had to check out earlier. I asked the front desk staff if we could get a credit/refund and they said they would talk to the manager and let us know. We didn't hear anything back so we checked again the next day but they didn't know anything about it. They said we need to talk to the manager ourselves but the manager was not around. We didn't mind not getting a refund but didn't appreciate how they treated us. On our checkout, they even didn't know we were checking out early.
With that many hotels in Aonang, Panan will not be my choice if I am looking for a great stay.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with bad attitude from the staff, We arrived 3 hours before check in was available was advised if room was to be ready early we would be notified. No complimentary drink of water was offered while we waited in the lobby area after travelling all night. After 3 hours waiting around we had to personally go to the desk and ask if the room was ready or not, by this point it was but as promised no one notified us.
We decided to treat ourselves to a swim up pool deluxe room after travelling around Thailand for a month, the room was spacious but that’s about it. The pool was dirty, in the shade and we couldn’t enjoy sitting on the balcony as you were eaten alive by mosquitoes.
Breakfast was chaotic with a lot of children around, not a lot of choice just the usual cereal toast type breakfast served.
Both pools were very busy by 10am with no available sunbeds, children also around both pools.
We planned to stay there for a week but with what we experienced we left the following morning to go back to Phuket. Hotel is located close to shops and restaurants but no bars to sit down and enjoy. Photos portray a completely different version, huge building site behind hotel. Not scenic at all.
Clean enough hotel, location is good but not worth the cost.

The only thing that I really liked about this hotel was that the sky bar staff was friendly and it was an easy walk to anywhere in Au Nong.
The breakfast was really lacking. Lots of choices, but the quality is just so so. There was a lot of kids at the hotel running around all day and screaming. The towels in the room were terrible and old and they only left one bath towel and one hand towel for each guest. No wash cloths. You also only get one beach towel per guest, which isn't enough to cover the wicker lounge chairs by the pool. The pillow cases and sheets on the bed were tattered and torn. We had a beach view room, but really, right in front of us was a big dirt patch construction site. One day the fire department used it for training and was setting fires and blasting them with extinguishers for at least an hour, which blew up and onto the neighboring hotel pool area. The free welcome drink was a sugary juice, not a cocktail.
I still had a lot of fun in Krabi, but the hotel just wasn't great. The rooms however didn't seem old or like they needed updating, so that was satisfactory.

My wife and I had our honeymoon in Krabi and we are glad that we picked Panan as our hotel resort! It’s our first time here in Krabi. The service was excellent!! From the time we reached Krabi airport, the staff there waiting to pick us up was friendly and helpful. Once we reached the resort, within minutes we were checked in to our room and the staff helped to bring our luggages to our room. The bed was very comfy and there were complimentary bottles of water daily. We didn’t have to wait long when ordering room service to get towels or food. The staff there will always greet you and smile at you when they see you. The breakfast buffet had variety from western to local food. We enjoyed it very much. There are many places to eat, massage parlours and tourists information shops nearby. It’s also very near to Ao Nang beach. All in all, we are grateful to get a pleasant experience during our first time in Krabi. Thank you Panan Krabi Resort :)

Stayed 4 nights in Aonang Panan hotel. When we arrived, there was a problem with the aircon in the room we were allocated. This was resolved in mimutes, moving us to an alternative room with no fuss assisted by friendly and helpful staff.
Buffet breakfast is very good with a full range of Thai and western choices available. The staff at breakfast were obliging and efficient, including Tar, Koy and Tina.
The hotel was busy during our stay but there was enough staff so the level of service remained good all the time.
The 2 pool areas were spotless, one ar ground level with play areas for kids, another rooftop with good views, although a smaller pool than the main, ground floor one.
Aonang itself is a pleasant, fairly compact beachside resort. Everything is walking distance and Panan is centrally located with beach 5 minutes walk, and the usual variety of shops, restaurants and bars all close by.
Would recommend Aonang and Panan Hotel without hesitation.

We have just stayed for 2 nights in a private jacuzzi whirlpool room for my husbands birthday. We had a wonderful stay the staff at the hotel are lovely and very helpful. The room was very clean and well equipped. The jacuzzi is a really nice touch. The breakfast was adequate with cereals, pastries, toast and a selection of mainly Asian hot food options ( but it is low season and the guests were mainly Thai in the hotel due to Covid 19). Facilities are good, the pool and pool bar were lovely, a fairly well equipped gym and the location of the hotel is a very easy5 minute to walk to the beach, restaurants and bars.
Only things I would mention are the room felt very damp when the aircon was on a high setting although didn't smell of any damp. The smart TV apps weren't available which is a shame as the cable options were limited.

This is a newly built hotel, with a modern room decor. It’s spacious and very clean. I love the bathrobe so much, I slept in it every night during my stay. The breakfast selection was not bad, I liked having a cup of Thai Tea which was freshly brewed. The downside of it maybe it’s quite a walk to the beach, with uneven sidewalk, but if you want to walk smoothly without bumps etc. (esp if you bring a prem), you might wanna cross the road and walk from the other side. This is not a complaint but if you can adjust the ringtone of the phone to be abit louder, it’d be better. I also had a nice floating breakfast at the rooftop pool (extra 600baht), but you need to select your choice of food. If you like to try everything, just eat at the cafe. I dont know about the housekeeping time, but they came a bit late. In fact, I had to tell the reception at 2pm to clean my room as I was afraid they wouldn’t come. Overall, I enjoyed the stay!

Hi, panan krabi use the 3 pin plug think type C..
Not fully rounded pins though. Can't send photo. Best to ask hotel reception to send you photo of the socket. Also best to take a multi plug which can be used in all countries.

Hi there! Yes the resort does provide but I suggest you take the taxi service from the airport instead.. it's cheaper. When you're heading back to the airport, likewise, there are many taxi services along Aonang to grab a ride. Anyway welcome to the best resort in Aonang!

Hi Shelly.. I stayed at the Pool access and had a great time at the pool due to it's close proximity. If you really want a great sea view, I suggest you book the 'Deluxe Sea View with Outdoor bath tub'. As for an upgrade, I suggest you book right away thru your booking app or agent rather than at the hotel as you never know the occupancy rate upon arrival. Have a good time at Panan! Stay safe...
