I stayed in December in beachfront bungalow. private beach with peaceful surroundings, beachfront restaurant with good Thai food in reasonable price. Bungalow however is rather small but looking at the private beach in front , hammock and beach chairs facing beautiful sea is no one would want to stay in room.
This place is in klong muang , almost 20 min drive from Ao nang (main hub of Krabi) and does not have anything around it to do or go for but they also provide scooter at very low rent or can arrange taxi for you.
So if you are looking for peaceful beach vacation , best option for you.

The 2 or 3 ladies in the kitchen really know what they are doing. This may have been the most flavourful food we have had since arriving in Thailand 2 weeks ago. We had a salad with crispy tofu and cucumbers, delicious...you can choose which type of noodles you want for your noodle dishes and the pad Thai was fab. We sent some friends who live locally there with visiting parents and they loved it as well. The menu is extensive and veggie meals are available.

My partner and I always make a point of staying at Pine Bungalows whenever we come to Thailand, this has now been our four time. I feel compelled to write a review as over the four years everything about Pine bungalows has remained consistent, including the staff.
The staff are always lovely and hospitable, and the food exceptional...this place never disappoints.
Rooms are also nice and clean, and surrounded by nature. It really is a slice of paradise here. ❤️✨

I first went to Pine Bungalow 30 years ago and not much has changed. The same family own it and it is run with the same love and care that defined it the first time I stayed there.
What has improved is the quality of the bungalows, they are clean and comfortable, though not grand.
The grounds and beach are well maintained and there is generally a lovely vibe.
The food is the best you'll eat in Thailand with lots of variety.
What really makes this place however is the staff, Nim gets a special mention but they are really all lovely people.
I miss it already and I only left two days ago!
Can't wait to return.

We found Pine Bungalows a great spot away from the chaos of Ao Nang. Simple small bungalows sandwiched on a quiet stretch of beach. Staff very nice. Food excellent especially the Thai cooking. Service excellent.

I spent 3 days in this place because of the price and the review in Tripadvisor but still not so sure until we arrive. We were quite surprise when we arrived and saw the pickup van and the time travelled from airport to the Bunglow (approx 45 min).
When we arrived, the driver brought us straight to our bunglow without any registration, they handed over the key to us and the room is lock by a padlock, Once they handed over the key to us, they will just leave you alone until you check out.
I have booked a bunglow with aircon and near the beach, it is very near the beach (3 meter away)The room is very basic, double bed, a low pressure shower, a pill. No TV, no wi-fi. but that didn't bother us, the place is quiet, hammocks are all over the place, and we enjoy our stay there vey much, just lying under the sun, on the beach whole day, reading books, doing nothing for 2 full days.
This beach is beautiful but with a lot of rocks, the only time one can swing in the sea is in the morning till noon, when the tide is high, which is about 4-5 meter from my door step.
SHould have stay a bit longer if not because we are going to Bangkok after this.
The food in the restaurent is fantastic, and this is the only place with wi-fi and the signal is very good.
The staff are friendly, very helpful, and speak good English. They can help you to arrange tour and anything. though during my stay I did not get out of this place at all.
A truely nice place, if you do not mind the above and hang around to enjoy the surrounding. definitely will be back again.

This place was great. It's on an uncrowded part of Ao Nang, has a really nice, relaxed staff, is inexpensive relative to the quality of the experience, and has really delicious food. I would love to go back and stay there again.

We stayed at Pine Bungalow for five nights at the beginning of January, and it was a wonderful experience. Disclaimer: this is a basic beach spot. There is no luxury here. You get a simple room with a porch - hot water and AC optional. But for less than $20 a day you can get your own clean en-suite bungalow just a couple dozen yards away from a gorgeous beach. (There are very big tides here - for half of the day the beach is sandy with beautiful turquoise water, and for the other half it's low tide and there are rocks making the water unapproachable.) The hotel's kitchen is probably the highlight--some of the best food we had in Thailand. They'd catch fresh fish, for example, and let us pick out what we wanted and cook it to our specifications. Make sure to order the Mussaman curry a day in advance - it's phenomenal.

The staff are incredibly warm and helpful, and speak English very well. They made calls for us all over Thailand to help us plan our trip. They're also very knowledgeable about the area and can make great day-trip recommendations. One of us has a complex food allergy and they handled that brilliantly. A huge bonus is that the hotel has its very own longtail boat captain who will take you out to the incredible Hong islands:

http://www.thailandparadise.com/krabiislands/ko_hong.jpg

This beauty is about 45 minutes away from the hotel. There's great coral reef snorkeling, gorgeous lagoon exploring, and white-sand-beach lounging by the turquoise water. The day trip also includes a packed lunch from the hotel kitchen and visits to two other picture-perfect islands. All for 700 baht a person (2,000 minimum in case you have less than 3 people.)

Another bonus to Pine Bungalow is that it's just a 5 minute walk from Klong Muang beach, which is a real stunner and practically empty even at high season:

http://www.zooadventurer.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Krabi-Klong-Muang-Beach-007.jpg

This beach, in addition to having the scenery of the cliff islands and the long tail boats, has amazing sea shells. And it's the perfect place for a morning jog. There's a few resorts on this stretch, but the inhabitants tend to just stay at their pools and restaurants and seem to avoid the beach. You can grab cheap massages and drinks at several places along the way.

One more disclaimer: Pine is not a party destination. You'll see a lot of families, and it's definitely that sort of atmosphere. You can certainly walk into town for bars, but this is all about good food and relaxing. Ideal for a honeymoon. On NYE, for example, they cooked us an incredible meal, treated us to live music, and gave us Chinese lanterns to send off into the night sky.

Pine Bungalows will pick you up at Krabi airport for a small charge, and also arrange your transport to your next location. They had a van pick us up, for example, and take us down to the ferry for Phuket.

Many places in Thailand are overrun by mobs of tourists and questionable food. So Pine is your classic diamond in the rough. If you don't mind basic sleeping quarters, it's hard to think of a better place in Thailand.

My husband and I ventured here on recommendation of a fellow traveler in Malaysia in spring of 2008. We thought we would just stay a couple of nights but ended our 6 month vacation by spending 26 days here before heading back to Canada. WE LOVE THE PINE BUNGALOWS. The main reason we stayed so long was the great open air restaurant with delicious and affordable food. cheap beer, western and thai food, and we could run a tab for the whole time. We had a cute bungalow just steps to the private beach with a hammock and chairs on our "patio" that was about $12 per night. The staff are fantastic and laid back, and funny. We were very sorry to hear of SongPong's death (snake bite) last year (2011?). There were lots of fun canadians, finnish, danish, etc. travelers staying long term while we were there too who we still talk with! Hours of backgammon, skinny dipping at 2am, beach parties, renting scooters, boat trips, and thai chicken curries are my favorite memories. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This is a charming and secluded beach getaway that helped me recharge after several weeks of backpacking. Upon arrival in Krabi Town, I called Pine Bungalow and they sent staff to pick me up (about a 30 minute drive from Krabi Town to Klong Muang). During my entire stay, the staff was extremely friendly and happy to answer my questions. My A/C room was near the edge of their property, very secluded. The room was comfortable, with plenty of space and hot water from the shower. Housekeeping is upon request, and was efficient the one time I requested it. As many other reviews have mentioned, the food and drink menu is probably large enough to have chapters, and the kitchen does not disappoint. Over four days, I tried something different for every meal, and everything was excellent. The beach can be a little rocky depending upon the tide, but if you walk 10 minutes up the road to the entrance of Klong Muang Beach, you can explore several km of additional beach, as well a cluster of resorts and beach bars. Staff was also quite helpful in directing me to some hiking opportunities around the island (Tab Kak Hang Nak Hill was particularly nice). Solo travelers might feel a bit lonely, as the clientele is mostly couples and groups, but I wanted a quiet place where I could read and explore at my leisure, so Pine was perfect.

Hello, yes, Pine Bungalow's offers a songtaw (taxi) service (although a bit expensive for me as a single traveller who was making frequent trips to AN centre and back). I did see tuktuks and group transports going back and forth from AN centre (the vehicles have signage on them), although I am not sure if they drive all the way to where Pine is or how that works exactly... Sorry, I didn't look too much into it as I rented the scooter immediately and used that as my sole transportation.
