Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort & Spa Krabi is heralded for its stunning beachfront location and vibrant atmosphere, complete with live music and fire shows that guests find entertaining. The spacious rooms are generally well-received, though there are some concerns about noise and maintenance.
While the amenities, including pools and a gym, are a hit and cleanliness is highly commended, service quality receives mixed reviews, with issues in responsiveness and noise levels detracting from the experience. Travelers also have mixed feelings about the value, citing room upgrades and location as positives, against complaints of hidden costs.

Detailed Reviews
This hotel is located about 40 minutes for the airport.
It is brand new and while some of the finishes were a bit sloppy (eg :paint not cleaned up) it was fresh and clean. The beds were very comfortable. They don't offer family rooms for more than 4 so we booked an interconnecting room as there is 5 of us. They are pretty standard hotel rooms with no real Thai style feeling which was a little disappointing, but they were very comfortable and airconditioned. The restaurant food was fresh and yummy, we loved the buffet breakfast. My husband and Son have multiple food allergies and the staff were very attentive to our needs.
The hotel has 2 pools and a water slide. the hotel is right on the beach and has bar service to the beach side seats. The view is beautiful. Great place to watch the sun set with a cocktail.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, Most of them spoke English. My boys loved the kids club!
If you follow the path down along the beach its a 5 minute walk to the main shopping strip. Lots of restaurants, tourist wears and tour companies.
We would Love to go back and stay again.

Just got back from 9 nights here over Xmas and had a great stay
The property is a brand new low rise colonial style set of four storey buildings and is very light and clean.
Great pools (one with slides) good gym (if a little small).
Nice cafeteria style restaurant and bars with some entertainment thrown in.
Rooms were bright and fresh. Good shower. Good beds. One small issue was that we had a family room and the toilet doesn’t have a door on it which could be annoying.
The staff were lovely and helpful. There was a problem with demand for beach and bathroom towels a few times. I think xmas was the first time they had been full and you could tell there were maybe just a few teething problems. Service was generally good, though housekeeping was a bit hit and miss as they didn’t pay much attention to wiping sides down or cleaning the floor. Otherwise we’d have given a 5.
We went bed and breakfast and enjoyed that very much as there are lots of places along the front you can eat cheaply and keep dining interesting. The breakfast omelet station guys were very good and there was all the usual range of breads, pastries and fresh fruit in the cafeteria in the morning.
We went to a lovely Xmas eve gala dinner where they put on a good show including some English carol singing.
This hotel is ideally placed along the bay at the quieter end and only 5 minutes from shops and the long tail boat park where you can book island trips.
All in all we had a lovely relaxing stay. This hotel was very low key and comfortable and we did not want to leave.

Just returned from a short three nights stay at the newly opened Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort. During this trip we also stayed at a different resort on the other side of Ao Nang and everyone in our family preferred the Centara Resort. Check in was swift and we were shown to our family room on the fourth floor (top floor) which had a set of bunk beds in a partitioned room for the kids. Kings size bed for parents was super comfortable. Closet space was rather limited for a family of four.
Bathroom was of good size with a free-standing bathtub and rain shower. I appreciate that Centara has changed from single use bottles for their amenities to full size bottles.
The resort has two large pools, one by the beach and one even bigger pool with two water slides. Even though we stayed during high season there always seemed to be sun Loungers available. There are pools with direct access to the pool as well as rooms with private splash pools. Be aware though that some of the latter face a rather smelly sewage water drain.
Had breakfast in the main restaurant which we all enjoyed. Very good selection, live egg and soup stations and good coffee as well which is not always the case in Thailand. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. Our only disappointment was the Happy Hour at Sands Bar during sunset. Even though a sign stated beer, wine and cocktails 50% off, which was also confirmed by our waiter, we were later surprised by a full price invoice as it turned out only canned but no draft beer was part of the Happy Hour. Of course this experience did not spoil our vacation but the situation could have been handled in a more professional manner. Hint: There are plenty of restaurants next to Centara which offer food and drinks in a casual atmosphere at half the price at all times.

We've stayed here in December for 6 nights.
The hotel is nicely located, a bit at the end of Ao nang beach, so more quiet but still walking distance from the town.
We had a room with sea view, which is in my opinion the best room type to book. When we arrived we received a connecting room which was connecting with a family with young children who were slamming doors every morning at 6:30, so after 2 nights we requested to move to another room, which was handled quickly by reception so we could continue our holidays in peace :)
Beds are very large and comfortable.
Improvements for the room would be 1. To have it cleaned earlier in the day and not beginning evening (when you just get back from beach and want to get ready for dinner)
2. Have do not disturb signs present
3. when offering a pillow menu, also actually have those pillows in stock. When we asked for a foam pillow, we received a cherry pit pillow, which was according to the staff, the only pillow from the menu left in the hotel...
A big plus is also that you have a private beach with loungers reserved for a hotel guests.
Downside is that right next to you, on the public part, a man (from the hotel? Seemed to joke around with the security guards a lot) who sells tickets for day tours right next to you to people passing by, and those people passing by - non hotel guests - use the loungers to sit down and (aggressively) negotiate a lower price for their trips, this is really disturbing if you just want to relax. Security could kindly ask them not use the hotel premises for their negations, a solution could be to put something like a planter or something in between the beach and the public part to make a more clear separation.
The breakfast, served in a noise, canteen feeling room, is quite extensive, however, the service is quite slow, not enough dishes and food at certain busy periods and tables of people who left are not cleaned quick, so sometimes there is no space to sit down when you arrive. Also, the advertisement of offering a healthy breakfast did not quite match what was on the buffet.
All in all, the hotel itself and their ideas are nice, but there is a lot of work to be done service wise.

We’ve been at the Centara Beach Resort hotel for over a week now so can provide an honest review.
Firstly the ‘good’ - our room is kept lovely and clean by the daily staff and it’s also large for the two of us plus a good sized bathroom. As the hotel is relatively new (opened Oct ‘19) everything is modern and new. The bed has to be the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in!
Breakfast is a buffet arrangement with plenty of choice of hot or cold options. All very nice.
Our room is on the second floor and as we asked for a quiet room, it’s exactly that. We didn’t pay or ask for a sea view as we don’t spend much time in the room. I’d recommend asking for a quiet room as we could imagine being woken early if positioned near the pool area which faces the breakfast area. It gets very busy in the mornings.
There are plenty of sun loungers around both pool areas (both lovely and clean) and also at the top of the beach (nice sandy beach but sea water not very clean/clear due to oily longboats) It’s easy to order food or cocktails from these areas and we’ve enjoyed their ‘happy hour’ for the 2 for 1 cocktails after 4pm.
The beach bar is wonderful to watch the amazing sunsets each evening.
The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff very friendly. We really have enjoyed our holiday here.
Now for the ‘bad’ - If there was only one slight niggle I would mention the entertainment provided for a few days in a row (starting on a Friday afternoon) in the beach bar area. You can be relaxing reading a book or having a doze when all of a sudden a girl starts singing with a guitar, with the volume so loud you cannot hear yourself think. She brings along two huge mobile speakers. It’s very annoying and you have to shout to speak to your partner over it which is ridiculous. I tried putting in ear plugs one day and my husband tried headphones with his iPod but it was no use - her voice drowned everything out! Like others we’ve packed our stuff up and moved away to get some peace. That, combined with the noise of the long boats on the sea in front of the hotel, the noise is far too much. I did try saying it was too loud but they couldn’t hear me!! They just need to adjust the volume down a few notches and not play the same song set each day, so people can enjoy the music instead of being deafened and driven away.
Apart from the one niggle it’s been an excellent stay here!

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted with smiles and a drink. Check in was a breeze and smooth. The reception area is not big but airy with a through view to one of the pools.
The hotel is quite new, officially opened only in Oct 2019.
There are 2 pools, a bigger one on the ‘inside’ with slides for the kids and another smaller one just at the beach.
Both pools are definitely no-laps pools but nice to cool you off with a dip.
We had an ocean view room overlooking the sea and beach and some of Krabi’s famous limestone rocks. And we were daily treated to mesmerising sunsets from the room/balcony.
The room and bathroom were pretty big but very comfortable and cosy.
As it was a birthday trip the bed was decorated with a ‘Happy Birthday’ and there was a small cake present as well which was a very pleasant surprise and such a lovely and nice gesture, and very much appreciated ! Thank you Centara ...
The noise of the motorboats were not much of an issue for us, it was part of being on the beachfront.
The location was perfect, just walking distance away from many eating places and on the main road many more eating options and street foods.
All the staff were very nice and friendly, nothing was too much to ask and done with a smile.
A special mention for Hamsah at front office who was very pro-active and attentive to our needs.
Just 2 minor issues for us ... firstly the sun loungers esp at the pool near the beach and on the beach itself are placed very close to each other which gives a claustrofobic feeling. I understand that they want to put as many sun loungers but this distance gives you the feeling like ‘sardines in a tin can’.
The other one was the breakfast, the spread was good and pretty extensive but the hot variety could’ve been bit more, after 3 mornings I really ran out of options and we still had 3 more to go. Fried noodles could’ve been alternate with different ways of preparing and/or with fried rice in different ways, same for the vegetables.
Overall a great stay and we left with lovely memories !

The hotel is situated right on the beach with a pool in the front and another pool in the back. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. The property is new so less staff than normal, which meant that one has to remind them to clean the room. The sea view rooms are the best as the other rooms view was not so appealing. An open drain passes through the center of the property which makes the rooms facing the drain a bad choice for stay. I hope they cover the drain in future. The rooms facing the drain are the ones with private pool, so be sure not to book those. Otherwise we loved our stay in the sea facing rooms and would stay again in future. Breakfast is sumptuous and lots of choices. The back pool has 2 slides ensuring a lot of fun time for kids and adults. It is next to main market so lot of options for eating and shopping.

Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t have hesitated to award this resort the highest rating but my only criticism was the actual booking. It took several weeks to get the full confirmation when in the past it was more or less immediate. We telephoned on several occasions, were promised that some one would return our call which didn’t happen. Eventually matters were sorted and we were promised, by way of an apology, a room upgrade but, on checking in, staff claimed to know nothing about it. We weren’t over concerned by this as we had a very good room overlooking the beach but if promises are made, they should be kept.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this resort. Its location is first class, there is a large car park immediately adjacent to the resort, a very good breakfast buffet, a room very well equipped and very capably serviced by housekeeping staff and throughout the resort, staff who are friendly and efficient.
The resort meets all the Covid requirements to the highest level - unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for a few guests.
There are two pools, one with child facilities and another pool near the beach.
The breakfast buffet is very good indeed with a variety of both Thai and international dishes available. Some food is cooked to order and dishes on the display are regularly replenished. A full range of drinks is available and I have to say there was a plentiful supply of excellent coffee available.
Our room, on level three overlooking the beach and poolside restaurant was spacious and well equipped. The room was also well soundproofed. The bathroom was equipped with all the necessary toiletries and the bed was extremely comfortable.
It wasn’t our first visit and, other than the frustration arising from the booking difficulties, we were more than satisfied.
There is a shop, a spa and a fitness facility available and another restaurant on the beach.

In my opinion this hotel is in the best location in Ao Nang as it is located with easy access to the beach and only a short walk to the hustle and bustle of the town. Don’t be put of by the building works on the approach road, these are of no consequence to your stay.
The hotel is modern and bright with two lovely pools and as expected in Thailand the staff are lovely making your stay as pleasurable as possible.
We stayed on a B&B basis therefore the amazing amount of choice at breakfast meant that we could try different things each day.

I’m trying hard to think of something positive.
Come here if :
1. You want to experience the worst of package holiday tourism, circa 1970. Pile them in, pack them tight. Surround them with concrete.
2. You enjoyed meals in your 1980 comprehensive school cafeteria; because that is what breakfast is like.
3. You want to experience that treasured arcane challenge: getting up at dawn to bag your sun lounger, which is packed in tight against your neighbour, in tight rows, to get in as many as possible. Which means you may have to step over them to find a seat.
Perfect for our contagious times.
4. You enjoy swimming at your local public leisure centre on a Saturday afternoon, surrounded by kids , with balls, toys etc. And as the pool , and water slides , is open from 7 am, they have lots of time to disturb guests trying to sleep in rooms overlooking the pool. ( but at least you don’t overlook the foul smelly drain which runs feet away from some rooms towards the sea.)
Don’t come here :
1. if you have any visual impairment, or physical problem; there are cunning discreet level changes on every floor, not easily seen, and an inch step into the bedroom, and into the bathroom. We are lucky that we don’t have disabilities, but even we have almost tripped.
2: you are expecting a 4 star hotel. Because it isn’t close.
Service at the beachside cafe is slow; they just do not have the staff to cope with the zillions of people here at the moment.
You just have the feeling that this is a “ cheap operation”, being run “ on the cheap”.
If you are looking for a quiet, tasteful holiday, then this is not the place for you......or us.

I don't remmber blocks characters. Sorry
Hi, suggest two things,
Book a room for two adults and one children and to ask the resort to add an extra bed for the adult. It should go smoothly.
