Wow. This place is rated as a 3 star resort, but we felt as though we were staying at a private 5 star beach resort the entire time. This place is is beyond beautiful, but what makes this place even better are the people that run the resort. Cris (mama) in the restaurant was always checking in us to make sure we felt at home and had everything we needed, she really went above and beyond with service and we became friends by the end of the week. The same can be said in terms of service and accommodations for lita, neen,
Khun bee (grandmama, the restaurant manager... her nickname by the other staff although I do not know if she appreciates the nickname lol) and the front desk staff. The room we stayed in was like a dream.... on stilts with glass facing the ocean, cliffs and jungle. The pool was refreshing and restaurant had great food and cocktails. Tonsai is only about a 15 minute hike to Riley beach although we really loved the quietness and seclusion of Tonsai. Make sure to give a lot of business to the few remaining business that have survived the past few years in Tonsai. We loved Chill Out Bar (say hi to champ the bartender and the awesome bar cats from us), get food from the small place in front of chill out (you can order from and eat at the bar) and get a professional and inexpensive massage from the little massage place in town. We were sad to leave and can not wait to return.

Amazing hidden gem tucked away between Ao Nang and Railay Beach. From stepping off the boat to leaving we had an amazing time, the staff are very helpful and informative, the food and drink delicious and the rooms are so comfortable. The hotel and beach is very relaxed so this is a place to unwind in the tranquility Tinidee offers.
Rooms - the large bed is so comfy with soft fluffy pillow and views overlooking the bay. There is a mini fridge, hairdryer, toiletries and beach towels provided.
Restaurant - whilst it’s a little more expensive to eat and drink in the restaurant everything we had was beautiful. We also ventured out and found a shack up from where you book boats and the food there was amazing, the best Thai we’ve eaten on our travels so far and very reasonably priced for both food and drinks.
Travel to and from the bay is very easy so don’t worry about the location of the hotel, this is what makes the place so magical

Tinidee is a new beachfront resort, however, the overall quality and company's policy leave space for improvement. For example, the sliding doors could use some maintenance, the shower was built with pretty cheap materials that don’t help the humidity go away. The worst experience was the restaurant, though - menu describes ingredients that won’t show up in your dish (e.g. the mythical energy bar included in the healthy breakfast set or a boiled egg in a caesar salad), the portions are really tiny and all dishes and drinks are heavily overpriced. Sometimes the table won’t have napkins or cutlery, so you’ll have to look for it yourself. There was no consistency either - for the first 3 days there was no fruit plates during the breakfast, but they did show up for the last 2 days of our stay. Does that depend on the amount of guests in the resort? Nobody knows.

Upon the arrival it turned out that the resort built a wall around its property, killing the easy access to the local village that is now pretty much dead. The path is not easy to find and there’s a ladder to jump the wall but it was impossible to get there when it rained due to big puddles. Not very ethical approach on the resort’s part that also eliminates food options for the guests (especially at night). It's a pity, because Mama's Chicken restaurant that's behind the wall offers stunning food for a really cheap price.

However, to be completely fair, the resort is beautifully located right next to the beach offering the most beautiful views. You can fall asleep to the sound of the waves and “jungle music” in the background. The staff is very nice and friendly, and they offer a tuk tuk service to get you to the long tail boats departing to Ao Nang. The secluded nature of the resort is a guarantee of a peaceful time without crowds.

Spend 2 nights at the recently opened Tinidee Krabi and had a fantastic time. What makes this resort so unique is the location (between AoNang Beach and Railey), the private villas (which are more like small bungalows) with beautiful sea views and the super friendly staff.

There is a small pool and kajaks and standup paddle boards are available.

The restaurant in the resorts offers a small, but delicious selection of mostly Thai food. We enjoyed dinner and also one of the three breakfast sets.

We will return!

Simply fantastic! 6 of us 20-somethings stayed in a family suite for 3 nights and we would go back in a heartbeat. The property is around the corner from Railay so it’s nicely removed from the excessive tourism and people. The property itself is beautiful with lots of places to recline and enjoy the spectacular view. The pool is a huge plus. The staff are friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The beds are soft (for Thailand) and the family suite is a good amount of room for 6 people. We had breakfast included which was good, but not mind blowing, and the coffee was great. Definitely recommend hopping over the fence at the back and eating from the restaurants there (ESPECIALLY Mama’s Chicken). They don’t look like much but the food is cheap and delicious. This place was amazing and we would have happily paid triple the price.

Hi

I'd recommend the very-good vibe hotel. I came alone and booked Female dorm. There were many plug-in switches; no worry for any charging issue, clean room and rest room, friendly concierge, beautiful sunset.

From here, you can walk to Railay Beach for 15mins but no nearby small-local restaurant but there is small snack shop.

In particularly, i'd like to really recommend Mr.Ae , the operation manager here, he was so nice and polite. You can enjoy all activities provided here with reasonable fee such as Kayaking, Climbing, Sightseeing and even chilling at the bar in Railay. I came but no feeling of being lonely!!

Thank you all of your kind service, all stuffs. Good place worth the visit!

The scenery is amazing, so I am giving one extra star for that... but otherwise this place could definitely be better for the price. The bed was comfy and it was nice to have a water filter in the room, but I'm going to highlight some of the issues;
1) Despite putting out the "make up room" sign on the door, they skipped our room and did not provide any towels, coffee, etc the first day.
2) The shower doesn't drain very well.
3) One of the two water glasses in the room fell over and broke (because all floors and counters are concrete), and then they never replaced it. They left us with one glass for the remainder of our stay, which is pretty ridiculous. (Especially when the glass costs about 150 baht, and we spent over 5000 baht per night to stay here.)
4) The main dishes they had for breakfast didn't have vegetarian options. Thefjrst day, the sign said "vegetable noodles" but was wrong, and had big chunks of chicken in it. Also, much of the breakfast food was tepid, sitting out at room temperature (the hash browns were cold, and fried eggs were left out for at least an hour with no heat or refrigeration.)
5) The wifi and power sometimes went out. Usually this was short, but at one point our AC seemed to completely shut down and never came back on, making the room unbearably hot, and we had to get their maintenance crew to fix it.
6) You have to walk around the grounds quite a bit, and there are dangrous pieces of garbage/industrial detritus around. My wife and I tripped on rusty metal metal/wire garbage pieces that were sticking out of the grass, and were lucky that they didn't cut us.
7) People go to the pool and "stake a claim" on the sun loungers by putting their towels there, selfishly reserving them for themselves all day, even though they aren't there at the pool. The staff should not allow this.
8) The cocktails and restaurant are pretty pricey, so we didn't pay for them (food and drinks nearby or at Railay are half the price)
9) Getting to and from this location is somewhat difficult... you must take a longboat to get there, which means wading out i to the water with your luggage. Also, the boats basically only run sunrise to sunset, which caused a problem due to a morning flight...
10) Because of this, I had to book a different hotel for our last night but, despite saying our reservation (through Expedia) had free cancellation, they wouldn't let us cancel the last night of the stay. We contacted them weeks in advance, and they said we had to go through Expedia... but when we contaxted Expedia, they said we had to go through the hotel. So, everybody told us it couldn't be done... we could only cancel the entire stay, or nothing at all. This is unacceptable, and cost us more than 5000 baht.

Dear Matthew G, | Y6144VKmatthewg Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay at Tinidee Tonsai Resort. We appreciate you taking the time to highlight your experience. We understand your concerns regarding the service and amenities during your visit. We sincerely apologize for any shortcomings that may have occurred. We are taking your feedback very seriously and will be addressing the following: * Housekeeping: We will reinforce our procedures to ensure timely and thorough room service, including daily replenishment of amenities. * Room Maintenance: We will investigate the drainage issue in your shower and address any maintenance concerns promptly. * Breakfast: We will review our breakfast menu and service to improve vegetarian options and ensure food quality and temperature are maintained. * Wi-Fi and Power: We will investigate the intermittent Wi-Fi and power issues and take steps to improve the stability of these services. * Grounds Maintenance: We will conduct a thorough inspection of the resort grounds to remove any hazardous debris and ensure guest safety. * Pool Loungers: We will implement measures to discourage the reservation of loungers by guests who are not present at the pool. * Transportation: We will review our transportation options and explore ways to improve guest convenience, including potential adjustments to boat schedules. We value your feedback and are committed to improving the guest experience at Tinidee Resort. Regarding your inquiry about our cancellation policy during the festive season: We understand that plans can change, and we want to ensure our guests have a clear understanding of our policy during this busy time. For reservations made during the festive season (e.g., New Year's Eve, Christmas), we typically have a stricter cancellation policy to accommodate high demand. Here are some key points to consider: * Cancellation Window: The cancellation window may be shorter during the festive season, potentially ranging from 7 to 14 days prior to arrival. * Cancellation Fees: Cancellation fees may be higher during this period, potentially ranging from a percentage of the total stay to the full amount, depending on the cancellation date. * Non-Refundable Rates: Some festive season rates may be non-refundable, meaning no refund will be provided for any cancellations. We strongly recommend reviewing the specific cancellation policy for your chosen dates and room type carefully before making your reservation. This information will be clearly outlined during the booking process on our website or through your preferred booking channel. We encourage you to contact us directly if you have any further questions or require clarification on our cancellation policy. We have done alot of travelling throughout SE Asia recently, and our stay at Tinidee Hideaway Tonsai has been the highlight of our travels. Yes, the landscape and views are absolutely stunning, and yes the rooms and all the built facilities are modern, stylish and very comfortable. However, it's the staff that live and work at the resort that are the true asset to this unique place to stay.

Our sincerest gratitude must go to:

all the ground and maintenance staff
all of the housekeeping staff
all food and beverage staff,
all reception staff and all those whom work behind the scenes, whom we did not personally meet at Tinidee.

We really wanted to give a special note of thanks to the following members of staff whom we had the pleasure of talking with and getting to know, during our 5 day stay:

Peaw, Kwang & Kim - your professionalism is something we have never experienced before, and is a credit to each one of you. You are what makes this Resort function so well. The Owners of Tinidee are very fortunate to have the three of you as their welcome faces of their business.

Janram (Pueng) - your gentle and calm nature is very noticeable, and is a skill you give freely, not only to help your colleagues but also to help your customers. We wish you well in working at the Resort for many years to come.

Tong - the level of service you give to each and every customer is unwavering. You treat every single person with genuine respect, care and thoroughness. We hope the Owners of the Resort can see your potential, and give you the opportunity to work in the many other facets of their business, as we know you have the potential to make tourism management your new career path.

Best wishes to you all

Sharon & Darren

Horrible. Ridiculously expensive for what you get. Could go on about all the bad things that happened during our stay. we feel robbed. You can only access by boat. NO ONE told us about this prior to arrival, and we had been in contact with the hotel multiple times beforehand. You have to dig to find this info on their website. You have to pay for boat transport yourself. Our room key didn’t work and the hotel had no back up, so we had to leave our belongings unattended to go to dinner. Huge liability. There was no TV remote to be found in our room. Bed in the family room feels like bricks. We stayed in hostels nicer than Tinidee’s rooms. pictures are very misleading. The staff were loud very early, hanging out right under our room the first morning. And icing on the cake is mouse poop all over. Found 5 different droppings in one tiny room. One even fell from the ceiling and landed on my boyfriend’s hand while laying in bed.

We tried to talk to the hotel manager, K, Pichet about getting our money back but he was less than understanding. He offered us a laughably small percentage on food, something we decided beforehand we didn’t want since the reviews of the restaurant were so bad, plus we wanted to support the local restaurants; and activities, when we already had our own plans lined up. None of this was even close to an appropriate compensation for what we paid/ experienced.

The only plus was getting to experience some of the local restaurants around Tonsai, owned by some of kindest, warmest families we’d met on our trip… this resort wrecked their business by building a wall, blocking out many of their customers… I am so sad I supported this establishment. Money hungry. Do yourself a favor and Don’t waste your time and money

Dear erikapE2182AN Thank you very much for visiting Tinidee Tonsai and for sharing your constructive feedback, We are again terribly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause to you during your stay with us, Please kindly accept our sincere apology. The hotel has already looked into this matter and is already fixed immediately now, We will also enhance our services as per your review given. And thank you for posting your concern here in this forum. The land, permits, and license topic is rather complex, so I do not want to go into details here. But I do understand that the area has changed somewhat. This said, we have established very good relationships with the Tonsai community, do our utmost to keep the unique Tonsai vibe, and our guests do support local restaurants and bars. The bars and restaurants in the back were hard hit by Covid (and a storm) 2 years ago, and just now most likely nearly fully recover and reopen in October 2022. We are looking forward to welcoming you next visit, Thank you again, and please do let us know if there is anything we can assist you with planning your next Tinidee Tonsai trip. My wife and I chose this recently opened resort because of its location on Tonsai beach and its proximity to the "four" islands. This is not a luxury resort but a very comfortable one in a luxury setting. The staff is going beyond their call of duty to ensure you have a perfect stay. The views from your room, the pool are awesome at any time of the day. This is THE place to stay in Krabi!

No not that easy to get a long boat in the dark. Best stay overnight on the mainland and get a boat after breakfast the next day, as they sail with the tides.

Perth, Australia27 contributions6 helpful votes
The hotel restaurant is really nice and thats all we needed for the 5 days. You can walk to Railay beach but access is dependant on the tide. There is another resort next to Tinidee Hideaway but it was closed for the season when we were there. The staff at Tinidee go out of there way so we just stayed there. Railay is a little more wild.

Hello, From Krabi Aiport, it takes around 40min to AoNang and from there, you can reach Tonsai by longtail boat in approx. 10min. Lanta/PhiPhi: There is no regular boat from/to Tonsai to Lanta or PhiPhi. You could go to PhiPhi directly with a private speed boat (can be booked on Tonsai). For other options, I would think best is to go back to AoNang or Noppathara Pier (10-15min by longtail boat). Hope that helps urs

For the bar is at Railay west which you can walk while the low tide along by the beach or another way walk up small hill cross to Railey west too, that would take 10-15 minutes walking. Also, there is the longtail taxi from Tonsai beach too. the cost would be approximately 200-300 baht depend on number of passengers. I would recommend you can take the longtail boat in the night time.
