Detailed Reviews
Loved the resort, very clean, rooms were great. I stopped in the double rooms for 4 people and couldn’t fault them.
Stay were great, rooms cleaned everyday and nothing was a problem for staff.
My only disappointment was the breakfast, not much choice, the restaurant? Always empty so didn’t bother-however there are about 100 restaurants on the street outside so this wasn’t a problem, and the drinks or food ordered at the pool took over an hour to arrive even when not busy? However the location is great and the resort itself is lovely.

The hotel is not new, the territory is well-groomed and large. Gorgeous panoramic view of the sea and mountains from the upper pool. There is also a bar right in the pool, it’s very cool to hang out there at sunset) the pools are not new either, and not always clean. I would be afraid to let children there....breakfast is normal - you won’t leave hungry. Well, of course, there are a lot of questions about cleanliness: during the 2 weeks of vacation, the linen was changed only once. They bring a towel only for the body, not for the face, but they gave one for the legs for the entire rest))) rags for the pool (there’s no other way to call them) well, to say that they’re bad is an understatement, either in a hole or stained, and almost They are never available. So take them with you better. The room is not cleaned very well; the shower room was never cleaned at all. We had to clean up the sand that was washed away from the beach with our slippers to the drain, because it was uncomfortable to stand on it. The staff is very friendly. Overall a pleasant experience if you don’t come to spend all your time at the hotel.

The Tipa Resort is nestled in a spacious green landscaped garden. The room assigned to us was newly renovated and super clean and comfortable. The room was big and very well appointed.
On arrival, we have warmly welcomed and check-in by the professional Miss Ploy. The room she assigned for us was very nice and according to our request.
Our 5 nights stay was wonderful and well-taken care by the manager, Ms. Winnie, Ploy and the entire staff.

The hotel itself (the walls) could be great: well located in the very center and yet quiet, rather pretty buildings with their blue roofs, pleasant swimming pools, very nice view from the upper part (well it's true, the climb is steep), but:
-poorly or poorly equipped room (8 days in a high sea view room). A good surface area but no furniture or storage, suitcase and bags on the floor, it's not practical at all, very dark bathroom (complicated to shave or other)
above all, the service is unfortunately not up to par. People are certainly nice, but there is no logic, process or management.
- random room cleaning (we had to ask for it twice, we also had to ask two other times for toilet paper (no one noticed that there was no more), ditto the shower gel (5 days without anyone only sees that there are no more, we finally gave up on asking all the time), no real cleaning or change of sheets (a sweep of the floor and the bed is pulled out, certain stains in the bathroom bathrooms left for several days...), something is always missing (either a floor mat, or a small towel...)
-waste or dirt can lie around for several days (by the pool, on the terrace, in common areas, etc.)
-breakfast leaves something to be desired. It's not so much the products (although: melon-watermelon or watermelon-melon, in the land of pineapples, mangoes, passion fruit, it's still crazy, we had to buy them in the street and take them with us for breakfast), but organized haphazardly: in an open room (so not air-conditioned), nothing is cool (neither the yogurt, nor the butter...), juice fruits in the sun (which often end up hot, having to ask for ice, when there is any...), jams opened in jars, without protection, therefore armored with wasps, to the point that most tourists give up to get close, no heat under the hot dishes... It wouldn't take much to make it better (real fruit, protection on sweet products or individual portions, moving the drinks buffet to the shadow...) but we have the impression that nothing is managed. And when we report swarms of wasps, we are told that it's normal, it's "the mountain"...
-gym (which was for us an argument for choosing this hotel) lousy: it is in fact a large storage room which smells very, very bad, which is armored with mosquitoes (there are none elsewhere), with 2 or 3 very old pieces of equipment. In the end we couldn't go.
In short, even with a nice view from the room, €155 per night in Thailand is really very, very expensive, especially with such a level of service...

very dissatisfied with the hotel. They put very thin crystal glasses in the sink. It falls on the same sink, breaks, with the risk of cutting myself (injury) and they also charge for it. incredible in a hotel of this category. ! I made a claim and they still charged it. I understand that there is a charge for misuse of something, but charging for breaking it when trying to rinse it, slipping and falling in the same sink, a shame! Also a problem with the towels, they don't change them or take them and they don't leave enough for two people, you have to keep asking for them. And for breakfast, the coffee looks like tea with milk, neither flavor nor color, The sugar is only white, and in a sugar bowl for everyone in the room, and on the fruit they replenish until there is no more left, so hurry up if you want to have fruit for breakfast. . I will never repeat in this hotel!

We woke up in our room covered in water, all of our clothes were wet, the bed was saturated, my hair was wet and there was a very strong smell of damp and mould. We told the manager who told us we were lying and moved us to another room which had the same issue of damp. We were told by the manager “what do you want to do just fly home?” And further accused of lying even though my partners clothes were completely soaked.
We moved rooms for a third time and at this stage we were getting agitated that we had been accused of lying and no other compensation was given for sleeping in mouldy conditions. This ordeal lasted three days. We had to get all of our clothes professionally washed and dried as nothing would dry in our room. We visited other hotels in the area before deciding to book a flight out of Krabi as this experience ruined our whole holiday here.
The other hotels in the area were a lot nicer and no damp issues or damp smell in any of the rooms. We paid upfront at the start of our stay for three weeks accommodation and little did we know even sleeping in MOULD didn’t warrant a full refund. What’s more shocking was the managers behaviour towards us. She ignored us for a full 24 hours and left us sitting in the lobby for 10 hours refusing to let us speak to the owner of the hotel. Without compensation we could not move hotels and we could not get a refund from anyone else but the manager so being ignored for days meant that our refund amount kept getting smaller and smaller as they only offered to refund us 5 out of 21 days. The manager also was going to make the STAFF pay us for a night in compensation which we obviously did not accept.
My partner had to walk around the hotel for hours looking for the manager as we just needed a refund of any amount at this point and leave but we couldn’t leave until we got her signature and documentation. She ignored calls from booking.com, refused to talk to us and spoke in Thai to the owner of the hotel calling us liars amongst other things, which we understood and have translated the conversation.
This is THE MOST unprofessionally run hotel I have ever visited in my life. We got a 5 day refund when the manager finally agreed to meet with us which in our opinion is not enough for the amount we paid and the level of disrespect we encountered. Absolutely atrocious behaviour from the manager. Please avoid here at all costs!

This hotel was really disappointing. I really can’t see how they can call it a 4 star hotel it’s 3.5 at best more like 3 star.
Upon arriving the entrance looks really old fashioned and more like a retirement home than a hotel.
We booked a jacuzzi ocean view suite which fortunately is a fairly new building and the rooms (I call them rooms not suites as to be a suite it should have a separate living area space and this does not) is ok inside albeit a bit small.
The building is at the top of the hill though so either be prepared to wait a long time for the golf cart. Walking is not that bad though and a good way to work off those excess calories!!
Plus sides the view is good, AC is good and so is the wifi.
However the service has a lot to be desired. We are only here 2 nights yet our room wasn’t cleaned? Just water and a toilet roll left outside the door, despite the please make up room light being turned on.
The rooms are poorly equipped. Toiletries are non existent. Only some cheap nasty smelling shampoo and shower gel in dispensers in the shower. No conditioner and nothing else provided except 1 shower cap.
You only get 2 towels which are really cheap, thin and old!!
Even worse is the pool / beach towels which are not even towels. They are thin sheets and actually look like table cloths.
The other buildings with rooms look really dated. Whilst I haven’t been inside to look, I definitely wouldn’t recommend one as they look dark and dingy with no outlook and look like something from the 60’s
To add to the misery of staying here I asked for some towels to be sent up, as the room had not been cleaned and I was given a dirty towel with holes in! Disgusting!!
I would not recommend staying here at all!

Went in Last week of December '19 , primarily to celebrate New Year , spent 4 nights in this resort.
The resort is big and clean however, except stay the food is dissapointing.
Breakfast spread is "same daily" and only Non-Veg "bland" food ( guess thats how they like it ..!) , even fruits are same , service levels needs a lot to be desired however, the staff is courteous , Big language issue - they understand only few english words ( an english coaching class can be a good business here :) ).
They keep 2000 THB deposit and return only on your check out day , so if you are carrying limited cash that can be an issue since it gets blocked for those number of days. However, its pretty close to Ao-Nang beach ( 5 min walk) and its on most happening street of Krabi ( good restaurants / shopping) .

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I recently stayed at this hotel with my partner and had an absolutely terrible experience due to severe damp and mould in our room. We found black mould on the pillows, and despite this, the manager accused us of lying and dismissed our concerns, claiming that our clothes were not damp as a result of the damp and mouldy room. We were moved twice and each room had the same issue. The images below are from the hotels “resolved alternative” the light fixtures were rusting in the rooms as a result of the damp conditions as well.
When we tried to resolve the issues, the manager ignored us and even disregarded attempts by Booking.com to intervene. She spoke in Thai to her boss, alleging that we were verbally abusing her, which is entirely false. We were only seeking assistance for the horrible conditions.
This has been the worst experience in our three months of travel, marked by gaslighting and abusive behavior from the management. I have images of the mould below and the conditions of the pool to top it off. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel and please check your pillows and bedding in this hotel as it can lead to severe illness.

Wonderful! The Tipa Resort in Ao Nang is a real oasis of a place. Set back from the main road, Tipa Resort is nestled amongst palm trees with hills on either side. The verandas attached to the rooms are palm tree lined and can only be described as a tropical paradise. The staff are friendly and always there to attend to your needs. If I’m lucky to get get back to Ao Nang someday, then Tipa is where I’ll be!

you can book trips at the booking office on the beachfront as well.if you do not have your snorkeling gear then go through a tour that offers..hope this helps
Normal rooms would be just fine. The hotel is about 150 metre away from the beach area, very convenient. Furthermore there's lots of food around. For Airport transfers , if you're coming from the AIRPORT, just go for the BUS which will cost 150 baht. It will take you to a couple of town and subsequently Aonang. tell the driver your hotel name. Taxi's will cost 500 baht whereas Hotel transfers will cost about 800 baht to 1000baht. its all one way. Outside guest...well , I don't think its an issue but NOT too many.
The beach is a 5 minute walk.
And the tail boat ticket counter is on the way to the beach.
Make sure you decide your island tours the previous day and book them in the morning, because they don't have tour operated boats available in the afternoon and if you still wish to go then you need to get an expensive private boat.
