This is an OK hotel, could be better.
GOOD POINTS
great location, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
Beachfront
Lovely clean room, large with a big jacuzzi bath.
Cleaners really friendly
BAD POINTS
Not enough sunbeds around the pool. All ‘reserved’ by 8.30am. Usually with no one sitting on them most of the time. 😡😡
Pool staff are miserable and mostly lazy, three blokes sitting around doing nothing apart from signing towels out! One of them spent most of his day having a nap.
Reception staff not great either.
Only one towel per person for sunbeds, these don’t cover the bed resulting in scorching hot plastic. Come on.... it wouldn’t hurt to either have bigger towels or let guests have two. I’d advise taking your own to combat this issue.
Breakfast - not good quality or choice. Hot food was not hot.
The bed is absolutely rock hard. I like a firm bed but it was like sleeping on concrete.
We asked for a mattress topper which was quickly provided.
Jacuzzi bath broke three times during our 9 night stay. It did get fixed after a lot of nagging.
Lighting in the room is far too dim, impossible to apply make up, or see what you’re doing generally.

We stayed 5 nights at the golden beach, the location is superb on the promenade from Main Street to the last Fisherman restaurant (recommended).
We had a lower floor room overlooking the pool to due to stairs being difficult for my wife, the rooms are large and adequately equipped although more fresher colours than the brown / cream decor would have suited the hotel better
The staff are attentive with rooms service daily and the lobby staff were helpful, there are good choices for breakfast. the daily ‘Thai’ breakfast varied daily but the rest of choices were stable.
The internet strength is poor and does not increase nearer the lobby.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Golden Beach and would book again if in this area.
Railay beach is a must for a day trip.

Firstly I'd like to point out the positive points about The Golden Beach Resort.
Upon arriving we weren't happy with the location of our rooms but reception were quick to relocate us.
The location of this Resort is perfect as it's situated right next to the beach and very close to the main street where all the bars and restaurants are.
The pool area was lovely with lots of sunbeds available.
However, 90% of the staff don't seem very happy and don't understand much English. I know that we have not long come out of covid and alot of businesses are struggling but they really don't seem to be happy to work there.
Breakfast was at best average, none of the staff we're replacing food or drink items when they ran out, no one seemed that bothered.
The rooms were spacious with tea and coffee facilities but the beds were rock hard as were the pillows.
Most day's we had to have a very difficult conversation with the pool boys about changing our towels, they said they didn't have many towels to give out and didn't really want to change them. To be honest the towels all need replacing as they are very old.
Also, it would have been nice to be offered drinks around the pool but no one ever came round, missing a trick there!
Wouldn't bother to return to this hotel.

Have been at this hotel several times before, this is our favorite place in Krabi. The location is absolutely perfect, close to Ao Nang beach, a short walk to shops, longtail boats and restaurants. We have tried most kinds of rooms, and prefer the villas and jacuzzi villas. Rooms have been nice and clean, and friendly maids are cleaning them daily while we are on the beach or on a trip to somewhere. All members of the staff are extremely friendly, you are recognized and greeted with smiles all the time. Breakfast is quite ok. We have normally had our lunch and dinner in restaurants by the main road, but the hotel restaurant have a very good reputation. We look forward to return to Golden Beach Resort next year.

Meet and greet was the worst I have experienced in my two months traveling around Thailand. Handed over the required documents and then was told check in is not till 2pm which we new and wasn’t a problem. I was told I could either go to the beach or sit around the pool, I asked where could I put my bags and was told to leave them at the entrance which is completely open air and next to the road, I then asked them if they had a secure room as I carry experience electronic equipment not only for holiday but also for work. 1 hour later and still nothing so I private messaged the hotel explains how atrocious and unprofessional there meet and greet is, not even a welcome drink. Within 3 minutes drinks were bought over and our rooms were suddenly ready. I generally would write about this however the reply I received from my private message just enhanced the lack of professionalism “check in is 14-00” and that was it, if I had not paid in full I would have left and gone to the Centara next door, excellent customer service with great facilities.

Positives
Beach front suite was very good with excellent views.
Cleaning was excellent.
Very nice pool
Breakfast was adequate
Staff everywhere else we all smiles and very helpful.
Great position on the beach and a few minutes walk to shops/ restaurants and bars.

Negatives
Meet and greet
Restaurant food was an absolute disaster, not cooked through and tasteless. Land up ordering 4 bits of bread as one guest had chips so we made chip butties.

It’s my 3rd time in Au Nang and I will return but not to this hotel

Stayed at this Hotel for 10 nights in a beach front villa. The room is spacious and well appointed, beds a little on the firm side and room towels a little worn but serviceable. Wi-Fi was extremely slow and kept dropping out so buy a data sim. Location is fantastic and also the views of the beach and bay from our room. Restaurant kitchen was spotless, and the food was good and reasonably priced with great views of the beach and islands in the bay. (No need to eat outside the restaurant) Location is beach front and close to bars, restaurants, massage and shops. The pool is fantastic and great service by the staff. You are able to order food and drinks from the pool attendant and he would deliver it to your lounger. Front of house staff friendly and helpful with the deposit put on credit card. I would definitely stay here again as the location is superb the staff friendly and happy and good value for money.

We had booked a pool view room online and when we arrived we were upgraded to a bungalow. The bungalow rooms are very nice and spacious but unless you have one of the outside bungalows you are looking at the wall of the bungalow in front of you. We looked at 2 bungalows and both were looking at a wall. We ended up in a pool view room with a balcony because the view was much nicer. That room unfortunately was a little musty, not as clean and outdated. We had chewing gum stuck to our bathmat. It seems the bungalows are the main focus of the hotel. The location is great right next to the beach and restaurants. The pool is great and well maintained. It would be nice if it would not close at 6PM. The tour desk is very helpful and has competitive prices.

The hotel is in a great spot, across from the beach and close to shops and restaurants. Nice pool and restaurant but would advise booking for the evening. This is not our first time in Ao Nang we were here in Feb 2020 be it in a different hotel. My disappointment at this hotel is the housecleaning, 4 star hotel, but they only clean the floors each day, do not make up the bed, do not replace toilet paper or towels or replace the free water you normally receive at other hotels. Had to request this. Beds are hard, but that's fine for me but not the Mrs. Wifi is dreadfully slow. Breakfast is ok, selection of asian and European. If you would like bacon or omelette, you have to request that, and it will be cooked fresh for you. Don't get me wrong here, the hotel is nice, great spot and very convenient for everything. Just expected a little more.

We were a group of 3 on Thailand trip and Krabi was our last destination. I booked this hotel directly from their website. I booked their suite and it was as shown in the pictures. The rooms have a bit of 90s feel but they are open and airy, if that is something you like. We got the first room on the first floor and it had the beautiful view of the pool. The location of this place is one of the biggest plus point as it is just across the beach. And another one is the buffet breakfast which you can have enjoying the view of the ocean. If you are looking for a mid range hotel with open space and beautiful location, this is the perfect find.

We stayed at Golden Beach Resort from 24/02 till 06/03 in Villa Garden View rooms. These rooms were spacious, cleaned every day, beds were comfortable. One of the reasons we booked this hotel is the location. It´s perfect, close to to the town, but still in a quiet area. It´s also 3 minutes from the boat pier, where u can book your trips to other islands. I recommend the most Koh Poda, Koh Hong and also Railey Beach.

The breakfast in the hotel was good, everyone will find what they like. The only bad experience we had, was at the check out. We were heading to the airport but had to wait till the staff checked our rooms. After they came back they asked us about a missing towel, because they couldn´t find it in our room. It didn´t leave a good impression at the end of our stay.

Otherwise we enjoyed a lot our stay at Golden Beach Resort.

I booked the property and stayed there , what they do is take your card details and reserve a room then the day that you check in your card is charged . If you don't show your card is also charged . I wasn't a fan of this ,but if you read the policy it's not a bad thing as you and the Hotel are dealing with one another and no third party . Think that I could cancel up to 24 hours before check in with 100% refund

My first booking was accepted as early check in between 9 and 10 am. But my credit card bounced for an error on booking site and i had to make a new booking , then early check in was in consideration.. Finally after getting a massage they let me check in at 12, while half the hotel was just empty. So 12 might be the earliest time you can get in. You can just leave your luggage at the front desk , change to swimsuit and go enjoy the beach. Enjoy Ao Nang!
