If you're expecting this to be a Ritz Carleton or Sofitel Level, you will be disappointed. This price tag will indicate right away that this hotel is for the mid-range traveler. I'd rate this well above average for what you pay for, which means solid amenities, beautiful views, and smiling staff. If you're a solo traveler like me and would like a pool, gym, a few good pictures, pretty clean rooms, a little oasis within proximity to the downtown, and a few solid meals, this hotel is great. If you're expecting any more than that (like how bright your room is ^^), you better be willing to spend more.

We are staying in this resort, 6 more days to go. Highly recommended. Bungalow is huge, comfy super king size bed, good sitting outside and just few steps to the pool. Pool is bit small but nobody around so for us private pool😉. Tasty breakfast.
Staff is very nice and housekeeping great, everyday we got linen change.
Good location, in the middle of everything but bungalows are located to the other side, you can get good sleep. 500 m from the beach, bars, restaurants and shops are just steps out from resort.

We are in the middle of a 10 night stay at the Ao Nang Paradise Resort and we are really enjoying it. I had read other reviews on TA and expected a mosquito ridden, cold water, hard bedded nightmare resort with a pool the size of a bathtub and rude staff - the reality is very different.

We (family with 2 girls aged 7 and 8) are staying in the Family Room. Bedroom containing 2 king sized beds plus living room with 2 couch/beds - huge. The living area has a TV and DVD and the bathroom has hot water and is also bigger than average.

Yes the beds are firm - but most hotels in SE Asia in this class have hard beds, yes the hot water in the bathroom is via an instant heater - but when it is 33 degrees do you need water that is blistering hot; yes the pool area is smallish but this is not the Sheraton with 200 rooms so the size is more than adequate - the view from the pool lounge is spectacular - a stunning limestone cliff and the food and drinks are well priced and the service is friendly.

Location wise - a 10 min stroll downhill will take you to the beach (20 baht per person in a tuk tuk is the alternative), easy walk to restaurants, supermarket outside Vogue resort is well stocked and well priced- nothing is too far away or too hard. Staff at the hotel are helpful and polite but not overly friendly.

This is a chilled, relaxed place to.....chill and relax in Ao Nang

I booked this place based on ratings and pictures for 4 days starting on 29th December. We reached 10PM and were shown to our superior room. We were disappointed with strong smell comes from damp closed rooms. Aluminium low quality doors, bathroom with exposed cement walls bereft of any tiles, old small hardly functional shower, thin curtains and no plugs anywhere close to bed was least expected. There is only plug pont close to TV. We had buy an extension chord to use Pap machine of my wife from Seven Eleven at 11PM as hotel refused to help.
Reception is very tacky with irresponsive staff. Breakfast is another place and another story. We had it on 30th at 9.30. Everything from omelette to rice to sausages to noodles was cold. We decided to forego our 3 days of nonrefundable booking and checked out. Can anyone stay there unless struck because of very false pictures they display on booking.com. Avoid

This hotel was a disappointment and should be avoided.
The place and location is idyllic in the center of Ao Nang and a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the main street with a magnificent view of the mountain.
On the other hand, the place is completely abandoned. Insects in the rooms, mold in the bathrooms, stained bath towels and smelling horribly, dirty bed sheets and blood stains + spiders in the
Bedroom. We spent one night there, and the next day at breakfast we didn’t even dare to have coffee…. Room area and food left in the open air in bins and on dirty tables, not even fresh juice or dairy products, nor coffee machine….soluble coffee in dirty pots filled with tartar. So we immediately looked for another hotel and left. We do not recommend this hotel. To flee and to avoid. Furthermore, upon arrival we were asked for a deposit of 4000 baths in cash even though we had not been informed of this approach and knowing that we have never had to put a deposit in a hotel in Thailand.

Just finished staying in the Ao Nang Paradise for 5 nights and trust me if we could have moved to a different hotel we would have. The hotel looked good on the website but in reality it doesn't match up. We stayed in a superior facing the cliffs with great views, that was about the only highlight.

The place is a construction site at the moment, everywhere you walk your walking around setting concrete paths and builders, not that great after returning from a meal at night. There seemed to be no way around the site to get to our room, tripping on the way.

The above we could live with after a few days but then on the first night our room seemed to back onto a the O2 arena, the music was so loud, forget sleep after a 8 hour journey hear. The same the second night.

The pool area was dirty and right next to a swamp which the mosquitos loved. The breakfast was terrible with the least friendly or helpful staff I think I've met.

But the final straw was the RAT running around our room 2 nights before we left. We told the staff and they laid traps but not sure what else was done.

I know there is always a chance this could happen but for the price we paid I would happily have paid a little extra for a better hotel.

its sad as this is my first negative review but be warned its not all it advertises to be.

We had stayed here for 4 nights just last week and had a horrifying and humiliating experience at check out. We got a call few mins before check out and we said that just give us 10 mins we are coming out. However at 11:55 the short haired lady who usually remained at the reception just barged into our room and started shouting “out out” “you late”.... accompanied by a male staff
I was standing inside the washroom in a towel requesting her that just step outside and give me 5 mins I need to come out and where my clothes and only then I will be able to step out. But she refused to budge and kept shouting so much that my fried literally got nervous and dropped her make up which all broke into pieces. I had to ask my friend to pass my clothes in the washroom, wore my clothes and came out. All this time she kept shouting and humiliating us.
At 12:08 I was already on a call at the lobby with my tour agent telling him this horrific experience.
We had not complained when they repeatedly forgot to keep toiletries in our rooms, neither when they took more than half hour to get fried eggs and tea at the breakfast, but this behaviour was just too much to take. This was my 3rd visit to Thailand and in multiple cities, but I had never ever experienced such a rude, unprofessional and humiliating behaviour. A patience of only 5 mins could have avoided any such ruckus.

I can rave many things about this resort's architecture and hardware, from its lovely cliff view pool, exquisite rooms, nice concept and lovely breakfasts. Indeed whatever stated on their website was no where far from the truth. The whole atmosphere was delightful.

The staff however (at least those who attended to us) was dreadful.

On our check out, two towels were told to us as "missing" and we were not allowed to check out before "returning" them. This fuss was made along the walk way as well as the lobby and you can imagine that type of embarrassment we had. We opened our bags and dug every piece of garment within at the lobby but no luck. So we decided to head back to our rooms to double check which another staff, supposedly more senior led us back, then unlocked the room for us, stood outside arms folded and expect us to do the checking. God has it in for us - the towels were found on the bed under the blanket and when we informed the "discipline mistress" outside the room (arms still folded), she replied "oh ok" then head back to the reception utterly some Thai language aloud. The receptionist then told us "ok now you can check out".

I think whatever good things we had for this resort is totally off the cards. The familiar Thai hospitality became Thai hostility. I wonder if the management would condone such a way in which their staff treat the guests. I was made to look like a thief in front of some other guests in the lobby and the most ultimate, after the recovery of the towels which were in the room and the house keeping staff DID NOT do a proper job and reported it was taken away or stolen, there wasn't the slightest apology. I have stayed in the upmarket resorts and mid range ones in Krabi, Phang Nga, Bangkok, Phuket and Samui, and this resort with its hospitality or hostility scores the worse one ever I have been to in Thailand.

In the eyes of all guests, the hardware and architecture are just secondary elements to a good stay. The most impt is always the hospitality and the human factor. This hotel scores not a zero, but a negative score.

I hv reviewed so many hotels I hv been to, from beach chalets to Maldives resort, this is probably the worst one.

Dear Mr/ Ms Abchan Thank you for your last visit to our resort and also very much appreciate your time for the feedback. All guests ‘feedback is valuable for our business whether it is positive or negative. As the feedback will allow us to know the down points of our service in order to improve and also avoid the recurrence in the future. Every time we have acknowledged the serious complaint through tripadvisor there is always an investigation in the department which was mentioned in the complaint by me as the manager. In order to find out what was actually the reason for such a complaint. Please accept my sincere apology for the incident which has made your last visit not with good experience. I am also disappointed to acknowledge the complaint regarding to our resort staff’s manner myself as well. Manner with the guest is one of the most important topics that we always emphasize when we train our staffs. Nevertheless we do hope to have a chance to welcome you back in the future to prove that the mentioned point has been improved. Best regards

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Ao Nang Paradise Resort for four nights. This resort is only okay and I would stay elsewhere if I returned to Krabi. These cottages are a little dated but fairly clean. Our biggest gripe was that everything in our room including the bed and our clothes were very damp even with a good blast of air-con. The cottages are down a hill away from the road which sounds nice, but there isn't too much air circulating and the path is difficult to navigate after dark. The price for value was poor. We were pleased to moved across the street to the Vogue Phra Nang (spelling?) for the same price, which was a welcome relief.

We have just returned from an 8 night stay at this lovely small resort and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Aonang. It is always concerning when people mention in the reviews that there is construction work going on and when you discover that it is being carried out when you are going to stay, it does play on your mind and you just cannot envisage what you will be presented with...however, in this case it was not as intrusive as we imagined - it really was not very noisy and did not bother us at all. Yes it is happening and perhaps the view from the pool may not be as ideal at eye level as it should be but cast your eyes a bit higher and the limestone cliff/cast backdrop more than makes up for it hands down. I think it is important to remember that the whole area suffered greatly from the Tsunami and it is being rebuilt gradually so this must be taken into account. All the rooms (or bungalows) are set in and around lovely gardens teeming with beautiful flowers with butterflies and geckos in abundance. The pool area was lovely and the pool itself is unusual as the inside of it is tiled in red/orange mosaic which may look odd in the pictures but goes well with the rest of the hotel colour scheme in that area. Towels are provided poolside for guests to use which is a nice touch - also the hotel provide towel/mats for the beach (the type to lay on, not dry yourself with) - also very handy to use.

The rooms we had were the deluxe bungalows - C2 & C3 - not the dearest or plushest rooms but they contained everything require, huge bed, flat screen tv, large enough bathroom, aircon, safe & fridge - although if I could recommend any improvement to the hotel, those rooms could benefit from a splash of colour on the walls, not so much in the way of paint but perhaps some nice colourful pictures to brighten it up? It is a bit grey in those rooms but we're not that bothered by the décor as long as the actual facilities are good and prefer to use it for sleeping and go out by day in any case. Housekeeping keep the rooms clean and you can smell the towels and sheets have been freshly laundered at all times.
The Wifi connection was pretty good in all areas of the hotel, so no real problems there.
We did have a problem with our safe in the room and it was replaced very quickly so we were very happy with the response.

Now the big plus for this hotel is the staff - what can we say!! We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived by the reception staff - who were always friendly and smiling (it is Thailand; land of smiles of course!!). The manager; Pim could not have been more helpful, she always came to see us when we were in the restaurant and made sure everything was ok - my husband and uncle are well into fishing and they wanted to find a shop that sold fishing gear so Pim suggested a shop she knew and arranged for the staff to take us there so they could have a look at the rods etc - such a nice thing to - she is a star!!
The "Sea of Love"restaurant staff were all so nice too and were all young but very polite, keen and eager to practice their English skills! Pam was the best - a real credit to the restaurant and hotel - extremely helpful and efficient with great English, always helping the younger staff and guiding them in the right direction!
The food was really nice and although it may take a bit of time to receive, it was always tasty - the pineapple rice served in the pineapple was a lovely touch!

Location wise, the resort is central on the main street in Aonang and near to McDonalds and Starbucks (for those who crave a bit of western grub & coffee!) and also in the middle of loads of restaurants of all descriptions, Thai, Indian, Western style so something for everyone. The main beach of Aonang is about 10 mins walk away and from there you are able to purchase tickets for the longboats, browse loads of shops or have a soothing massage!

Overall a very enjoyable stay and would recommend to others who wish to stay at a hotel near to all amenities with helpful and friendly staff - thanks to Pim & Pam and all the other staff for all your help & assistance!
