If all you need is a cheap layover this is fine. It's excellent value for money but don't expect anything special. You get what you pay for and previous negative reviews can only because some people have unrealistic expectations and expect too much for what they are paying for.
Very close to loads of places to eat and drink, supermarkets and a short walk to Ao Nang beach where you can get longtail boats from.
It is located just off the main drag away from the main Ao Nang ferry point but up a short side alley which amazingly cuts out all the noise.
Rooms are clean and comfortable. We stayed in standard double which is the smallest but more than adequate.
Other rooms may have balconies or face the terrace on the 4th floor.
There are no meal options but they offer cold drinks/beer at reasonable prices as well as hot coffee.
We were happy at this hotel.
Rooms: best budget room we stayed in in Thailand. We were actually taken back when we walked into our room and saw the size of it. Everything was very clean, the bed was huge, a/c worked great, plenty of space to dump our stuff, fridge with water. The downside was having a wall for a view, but that didn't bother us.
Location: the hotel is very close to the beach. Our friends paid 3 times as much for the Best Western and their hotel was pretty far uphill. The hotel is very close to shops and restaurants and some amazing street food stalls. Check out the stall 'Farina' were a very friendly and smiley young boy named Kem works.
The rooms were nice and clean with all basic amenities provided. The staff were helpful and very informative. Breakfast is available at additional costs. Very close to the beach and right in the middle of the main shopping and dining area. There is a scooter for hire shop just next to the hotel.
Please note: You are not allowed to enter the hotel with you footwear. You will need to leave them at frontdesk whenever you get back to your rooms. You are allowed to carry them back only in the night once the front desk is closed.
We asked to stay on the top floor as the whole roof is your private balcony with great sea views. The roof has 3 rooms available, we were lucky to get the biggest room and the other 2 rooms where empty so we had the whole roof to our self. This really did make our trip as it becomes 1 very large private balcony. The rooms on the other floors are still very good but have a small balcony in comparison.
Trips can be purchesed from reception at a great price, infact we checked the price of boat trips with a lot of places and found our hotel to be the cheapest. The owner is very good he dosen't lie he is honest which is strange for Thailand (most people try to scam you).
