The room was clean, had a good air conditioner, nice view and the pool was very lovely to bathe in. The only negative thing about the room was that the fridge sounded very much so we pulled the plug at night. But the staff was helpful and very nice.
The breakfast was good but monotonous, there were both European and Asian dishes, but it was always the same main courses. There was a good selection for me who mostly eat eggs, fruit and pastries. I brought a lactose-free milk because of course there is no milk.
For those of you who like music, this was definitely the place. Across the street live gigs were taking place in the evening. About 3/7 days a week.
The noise from the bars across the street is very bothersome, ask for a room in the back and you’ll be fine.
It was a very good experience.
The hotel is centrally located in Ao Nang and only 100 yards from the delicious beach. City life takes place just outside the hotel and it has its charm.
The cleaning was perfect and the nice people at the reception were the same. Especially the Malians were really good. Always smile and good mood.
The pool was not the largest, but what does it do when the delicious beach is so close?
My stay included breakfast. It could have been better, so often enjoy breakfast at the genboen, the restaurant Lemon Gras - at cheap prices.
The room was large and spacious with lovely terrace. There were 2 bottles of water per day as well as the opportunity to make insta coffee.
If I come to Ao Nang again, I will of course stay in this lovely hotel with the sweetest people.
But we were pleasantly surprised. We had made a note in the reservation that we would like to stay "above the ground", not the 1st or 2nd floor. So we got a very nice a room at the 6th floor, which ment we got to watch the beautiful sunset from the balcony every night.. The service was excellent, everyone was really nice, and the rooms were always clean, we had a minibar and aircondition and a safe in the room. Breakfast was included, and it was good (not excellent, but more than good enough), bread, pancakes, omelettes, sausage, jam and fruit ++++ There is also a small pool.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the beach (next to a road, so there is some traffic noise, but not that bad...) I don't think Ao Nang itself is a very exciting place to stay, but it's great if you take advantage of the possibilities, and go on boat trips to all the beautiful surrounding islands... (just rent a long tail boat for a day/half a day, or there are day trips with speed boats...)
We also stayed at Railey Beach and Phi Phi Island (both is paradise :-), Ao Nang is a good place to stay, but just for a few days, and you should go on island day trips :-)
bed was like sleeping on an ironing board, no soap in room, only soap is in the liquid pump in the shower, there was bloddy tissue in the garbage can, the sheets were itchy, were they even clean??
breakfast was weak.. and it was 87$ a night...
barely got sleep before going to west railay.
might was well buy a case of sang som rhum and sleep in the box .seriously.
Cons:
-Booked 7 months in advance and this is the 1st time traveling as a couple I had to take 2 double beds!
-There must be mosquitos and/or bed bugs because every morning I would have bites on my legs and wrist from the room
-no soap in room just liquid pump in the shower
-Free breakfast was grimy and they barely replace items so go early!
-This was the worst value for money in all of Thailand!
Pros:
-Great Location
