The breakfast was great. Fresh fruits, local dishes like steamed rice and curry's but also pastries, croissants, and the ability to make toast. Cold cuts, cheese, marmalade, etc. You can order an omelet or fried eggs and bacon at a separate station. The hotel staff was very friendly and my room was awesome and kept clean. First week I stayed at a room with direct access to the emerald pool. That building is a bit newer and it is very quiet there for those who like that. The second week I stayed in the original building on the ground floor in a room with direct pool access (blue main pool). A great room to stay in as well
A few minutes walk will take you to a 7Eleven and the lively center of Ao Nang. I will definitely come again next year.
One downside: The gym can't be called a gym. It is a small room with some cardio equipment. BUT there is a gym called 'Heroic Gym' about 3 mins walk from the hotel. That one is huge and well equipped. You can pay per visit or get a subscription for a week for instance.

Krabi La Playa is a beautiful resort with lovely, stylish and comfortable rooms. Ours had a private patio with its own private entrance to the swimming pool and jacuzzi. The staff was super friendly and very attentive, helping us find everything in the area. Breakfast was included in our particular package and it was one of the nicest I'd ever eaten at a hotel. Scrumptious omelet bar, french toast, tasty chicken and rice, chocolate croissants, fresh juice and coffee, and much more - yum! Very impressed with the service as well as the overall quality of this beautiful resort. Highly recommended.

Me and my boyfriend had the most amazing stay here at Christmas! The hotel is beautiful and so clean, the staff went above & beyond to ensure you were happy and comfortable and also cater for anything extra you require. I have a dairy allergy and Mon made sure I had soya milk every morning for breakfast time & always let me know what foods I could have. The hotel is in ideal location so close to both beaches and all the shops/bars/restaurants. The hotel had some lovely little touches that made it feel extra special. The breakfast was lovely, so fresh & had variety. We had a buffet dinner for the Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve party which were one of the best dinners we had in Krabi. The party they put on for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve was so fun and the decorations were beautiful, a lot of effort was put in to provide guests with an extra special Christmas & new year. We loved this hotel and was extremely grateful for the staff and their service. If I return to Krabi, which I plan too, I will be staying here again. Party of 6 adults stayed for 2 weeks. Rooms clean and spacious, staff could not have been more helpful or friendly- special mention to Pon, Nana, Mon, pool bar staff, the lady who organised our trips and the lovely night bar man - pool area very clean and no trouble getting a sunbeams at any time of the day. One warning the pool bar surface gets very hot so beware! The hotel is ideally situated for the beach (8 min walk), shops, markets, restaurants and bars but in a quiet location. We would certainly return to this hotel and soon I hope.

This was our cheapest hotel stay of our trip and for value for money the best. Service from front of house was excellent. All the staff were lovely and friendly especially Pon who couldn’t get enough of spoiling our 11 yr old son to death. The rooms was the largest we stayed in as also was the bathroom. The pools here were amazing and the location from Ao Nang’s beach front was a short walk while the hotel was in a quiet area away from the bars and nightlife. Would definitely return.

Stayed here for four days. The reception staff are nice and welcoming. With rooms being nice and clean but other parts of the hotel need a new layer of paint and refresh as a bit old. Grounds and pools are nice and relaxing. Pool bar staff are lovely and happy hour goes down well. However, staff in the main restaurant seem bored and disoriented from customers as they have nothing to do, no one seems to eat in the main restaurant and I don’t blame them - we ate here one night and it was awful. Out of our whole time travelling in Thailand we never had a bad meal until we ate here. Breakfast was limited but nice, pool side meals were standard. Hotel is perfect location to other restaurants, shopping and beaches so plenty of places to visit and eat at. Recommend Kodem Kitchen which is just up the road - lovely food.
Hotel is rated as a four star but should be a three star. A nice place to stay if you’re looking for somewhere close to all the other attractions of Krabi.

We stayed in a swim up room around the emerald pool for 4 nights. The room was clean the A/C worked well, we liked the filter coffee facility also. The room was a decent size, clean, but tired in places. The beach bag, towels and beach mat were a nice touch. The pool access was convenient, you had a plunge pool and a ladder to access to main pool. It did feel cramped around there and used the main pool to lay around. The fridge in the room was empty and not stocked due to the close location of a 7/11 We had breakfast included in our package. So of the aspects of the breakfast was nice, a large selection of pastries, bread and fruit. Other selections of local dishes or sliced meat or sausages in ban-maries (these were cold!) there was a guy who did eggs at a station on the patio, where they served bacon, sometimes Thai sausages or chicken satay. Generally the bacon was cold, I made a choice of a pre cooked egg, again cold. I can only assume that the staff in breakfast area were under training or just lazy, as they didn’t attend to the tables as quickly as I have experienced in other hotels, they didn’t seem to monitor what needed replenishing as the I had to ask if they had some items that had run out. Location wise this hotel is just a short walk(5mins) from the sea front, where there are a multitude of dining options at competitive prices. There’s a 7/11 just 2 mins from the reception to get your snacks or drinks for your room. Whilst being critical of some of the aspects of La Playa, we plan to stay again the next we stop in Ao Nang, I’d also recommend it if the price is right

The hotel was Very comfortable, excellent location close to the beach and restaurants. 2 bottles of water provided daily in the room and lovely that a beach bag towels and a mat are provided free of charge and changed as required. Breakfast was excellent choice and happy hour plus snacks good value. The pool is lovely and clean and the massage facilities are excellent. The only negative was the foul waste water outlet that runs through the resort past the bottom of the hotel to the sea front which was quite an offensive smell. The beach to the right is not the best either although the sunset is the best, the beach to the left is much better. Raily Beach is easy to reach by boat as are the Islands. Easy to travel around locally and lovely local restaurants.

We booked this hotel as it looked like it would be a good base for exploring Krabi town. It proved to be a great location just off the main high road and near to all the shops and restaurants you'd need. To get to the far end of the beach (south) is about a half hour walk but well worth it. The hotel itself is comfortable, not the most luxurious but clean and well presented. The hotel bar was very quiet in the evenings but that's because everyone goes out. The main pool is lovely and the pool bar is great during happy hour.

This holiday was booked initially in 2020 believing the world would be back to normal by 2021. How wrong we're we however we finally made it in March of this year and it didn't disappoint. We had a fabulous time made all the more special by Katie and Nanny along with the rest of the lovely staff at the La Playa Resort who made us feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms spacious and clean. There were 3 of us in the room. We had 2 large comfy single beds and a roll up bed which was also very comfy. Air con was included and was much needed and worked really well. The bathroom was great with bath and large shower. Rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels and pool towels left daily. Bed linen changed frequently. Although the hotel was at full capacity it was quiet and relaxing with lovely gardens. The location is perfect, within 5 minutes walk to the beach,shops and nightlife but also far enough away as not to be disturbed by it. The pool is amazing,cleaned daily and always plenty of sunbeds to soak up the sun. The swim up bar is also great if you fancy a cheeky cocktail during happy hour. There's plenty to do from Ao nang, Trips can easily booked either from the hotel or from the numerous travel agents you come across when out and about. Our particular highlights were visiting the Elephant sanctuary where you can give the elephants a mud bath and make paper out of their poo !! and getting about on the Tuktuks which was so much fun.
We all had such a fabulous time we've booked to return in 2024. Although all the staff were great special thanks to Katie and Nanny.

It's a pretty large place so I doubt this would be too much of a disruption - noise may be an issue if your room is nearby though? The stairs are pretty easy and accessible, and there are several lifts. I wouldn't be too worried.
There are more places to choose from in the Ao Nang area.
