All top notch.
Let’s face it, post pandemic you would have to stay at a four seasons or a ritz Carlton to revive the kind of service in the USA.
My advice, stay here, eat at the restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Lovely setting. Would be great place for a wedding. Nicer than expected. Would return for sure. Highly recommend....to others including strangers
Will not return and give them my business when they did not care or do anything to repair the impression. The restaurant is great and the views are gorgeous. But with that service… why bother
The junior suite provides a living room with gas fireplace, a kitchen like area equipped with a small frig and coffee brewer. It would have been nice to have had a microwave too, but we were more concerned with keeping our libations cold.. so it worked for us. The TV worked as it should even providing San Diego stations!!!
The bathroom was located off the living area. The bath was of a bit larger than average and the shower was large with incredible water pressure.. I loved it!!! Two people fit in the shower just fine thank you!!! The master bedroom was also larger than average and our king size bed was the equivalent of our own at home. The quilted bedspread was an great touch!!! The decor and furnishing were very tastfully done.
Our suite was impeccably clean and service prompt for the most part. We were pleasantly surprised that the price of the room included continental breakfast.... the fruit and danish were fresh and tasty. What a nice treat not to have to leave the room on Valentine's day morning!!!!!
The restaurant was very busy for Valentine's Day dinner as it should be!! Our experience here was five star!!!! The food and service was exceptional... I could not have picked a better Valentine's Day restaurant!!!!!!
We highly recommend this resort.... the accomodations and service were superb... we will return!!!!
We got lost in Tijuana trying to get on the toll road down the coast, and was not prepared for the luxurious beauty of the Punta Morro compared to everything else we saw on the trip down. It was just under 2 hours from the border, and on the north side of the city.
Check-in was quick and courteous, with a gentleman to meet us on the parking lot nearest our room, to help with luggage. The suite itself was huge, immaculate, and well-furnished. Cool tiled floors, comfortable furnishings, a fireplace and little refrigerator, as well as a large tiled shower/wc room with a nice vanity outside the door. My husband even commented on how nice our suite was - and that's rare! All suites over look the water, and nothing is lovlier than the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks. Our balcony overlooked the pool, jacuzzi, and fire ring, which was surrounded by a clean glass wall, and truly enhanced the view, as well as our feeling of being on a relaxing, luxury vacation. Even though it is mid February, the pool was nice and warm.
We spent the day wandering the shopping district in town, and enjoyed a freshly-prepared lunch in a friendly tacqueria on the main strip.
DO NOT MISS the dining experience at the hotel restaurant! A large menu, gracious service, and time to relax and enjoy our dinner is not an experience we are often able to enjoy at home. But the view from out table, perched out over the rocks, watching the high-tide waves crash and spray just outside the floor-to-ceiling window was stunning. For appetizers we ordered the goat cheese/puff pastry plate, and half a dozen oysters. Dinner was swordfish and steak, both perfectly prepared. The wine and dessert menus were also sampled, with happy results. Linens and pillows were top quality, and we slept well with nothing but the sound of the waves to lull us to sleep.
Breakfast was delivered to us the next morning, and I enjoyed a healing soak in the jacuzzi, while looking up at the homes on the mountainside beyond the hotel entrance. Checkout was just as expeditious as check-in. We headed back north thru the border at Tecate; an enjoyable ride thru wine country, the unpopulated mountains, and a few small towns. No line at the border in Tecate - well worth the drive to avoid the mess and mayhem in Tijuana. You will be very happy if you book your Ensenada stay at Punta Morro, if you only have time for lunch or dinner you should definately stop by to see the property and enjoy a fantastic meal!
My husband, daughter, son-in-law, 2 grandchildren, and my son-in-laws mother and I spent a weekend at the Punta Morro Hotel Suites for the weekend and were very disappointed. We had read all the excellent reviews and were really looking forward to staying there. We stayed in their 3 bedroom studio suite on the second floor $290. per night.
When we first arrived late Friday evening we were very impressed the Hotel was very clean and had a fabulous ocean view, the bedrooms were large with two of the bedrooms having king beds and the third having two queen beds There’s a bar area in the living room but they didn’t put in a sink?
It was a little after 10:00 PM when we were settled in our room. and since the pools closed at 10:00 PM we decided after reading about the beautiful ocean view from the restaurant to have a few drinks and get an appetizer before going to bed. The restaurant was very nice, and we ordered two orders of coconut shrimp, and a total of 11 drinks (all small glass singles, 4 margaritas, 5 pina coladas, and a non alcohol drink for each child)We received a total of 16 shrimp that weren’t coconut but regular breaded shrimp with tartar sauce and hot sauce (this was ordered in Spanish so there shouldn’t of been any confusion). When we received our ticket for our order we about fell over it totaled without tax or tip $97.00 dollars. The drinks were way over priced. We didn’t eat any of our meals there but went into town to our favorite place “Casamar Restaurant”
In the middle of the night I got up to go to the bathroom and stepped in water for the floor was covered in water from the toilet leaking, also neither toilet flushed properly. In the morning it was cool so we went looking for the heating and air conditioning thermostat and discovered they didn’t have either. Your heater is the small fireplace in the living room and the air conditioner is opening your windows. We tried lighting the electric fireplace and couldn’t get it lite so we called the office about this and bathroom problem and they came right up. They couldn’t get the fireplace to work properly after working on it all morning, finally they replaced it with another one that didn’t stay lite very long either. Also, at the same time they worked on the toilet all morning so some of us couldn’t take our baths. When he finished I told him that the tank was leaking for I watched it leak from the top and he only cocked the bottom of it and left. (It still leaked) This messed up our whole Saturday morning which was the only full day we had to spend there and we wanted to shop in Endsenada and go in to the La Bufadora. After he left my daughter had taken a quick bath in the master bedroom bath and the water was only warm. My grandson and I went to take our bath and I barley got wet and started washing my grandsons hair and the water started getting cold, I washed him in the cold water and never finished my shower. My son-in-law took a cold shower and the rest of us didn’t bath. The main bathroom is setup poorly with the sink being on the outside of the bathroom the door closes in the toilet and shower. Since I couldn’t bath properly I wanted to sponge bath my private parts and you sure can’t do it there for everyone can see you. Also, girls for doing your hair there is no plug in for a curling iron, and you also can’t use your own blow dryer and theirs is there permanently and works poorly. Men you can’t shave either. I had to wait to use the master bathroom. Sunday the shower stayed warm for the people below who shared the 40 gallon water heater with our room had checked out.
Saturday night we decided to enjoy the jacuzzi and heated pools. The spa had 10 people already in it which were partying down there and had been there a long time, the regular pools we discovered weren’t heated (even though they covered them each night). We called the office and asked if they would turn on the big pit fire since it was chilly and they said they would. We all went down and sat by the fire pit a good 30 minutes and then the other people left leaving their trash and bottles behind, we picked up their trash and went into the jacuzzi which was very nice. Later on they finally lit the fire pit it was a very cold misty evening. Later on when we went to bed the people downstairs partied loudly until around 4 AM.,and our bedroom faced the parking so all night long we heard people coming and going, even with the windows closed.
Oh, if you want the continental breakfast be sure and complete the card that is on the front door knob, we didn’t know this and never got ours the the first day. Also, I wasn't very good our pineapple was rotten and the Mexican rolls were hard the orange juice was fresh squeezed and good though and the coffee was good.
I would like to add that the staff was very pleasant and any time we asked for anything towels, toliet paper etc. we got it right away. Also, the kept the grounds very clean and the pools are also very clean.
We have gone to Mexico for over 30 years and most of Ensenada is very dirty. There are some great restaurants there and nice hotels though. We still go there once or twice a year and used to be able to get some great deals. Its a good place to get your medicines with the high prices now a days. Bufadora is a nice scenic drive and they used to have the best prices, now they are just over priced street vendors. There is very little dealing on prices like there used to be, and if you go on the weekend forget it for everyone is there and the cruise ships are in. The best deals are in town on the weekdays when the ships aren’t in.
