Anyone can stay at the Holiday Inn or Sheraton. This is an older hotel that has the charm and charisma of Mexico. The price is super affordable. At this price you could afford to stay twice as long. We stayed on the Miramar side of the hotel. Less traffic noise but enjoyed listening to the street entertainment. The complementary breakfast across the street was a wonderful experience. You get a very authentic feel. The room was adequate and clean. The housekeeping was friendly and capable. We plan to stay again on our next trip to Ensenada.

This hotel is a little hard to find. As you enter Esenada on the Scenic Highway (MX Rte 1) from the north the hotel is just a little past the first traffic signal. It is on a street corner on the left. If you pass the McDonalds restaurant you have gone to far. Turn at the corner the hotel is on (not at the traffic signal.) The gate to the hotel parking lot is about 100 feet from the corner on the right. This is a one way street.

This is definitely not the best part of town. I don't consider it dangerous, but walking the streets in this area late at night is probably not for the timid.

Security is very good. The hotel parking is gated and the gate is locked after midnite. There is also a security guard on duty 24 hours.

The accomodations are special for hotels in this price range in that they are clean and in good repair, both in the room and in the lobby and corridors. There is an elevator.

The room was very quiet given the heavy traffic in the area. There was an air conditioner in the room. My (internet) reservation was for a room with a queen size bed. What I actually got was two double beds. If this is important to you, you should probably confirm it at the desk during check in. Besides the beds, the furnishings included a night stand with lamp between the beds, a dresser with mirror, a single chair and a TV on its own stand. There was no table. The shower (no tub) was large and had good water pressure. There was also a balcony with two plastic patio chairs.

As with most things in Mexico, your experience may vary.

Let me first say that I wanted to take a towel home so bad. They have these old school towels with their logo on them which are very cool looking and nostalgic of the glory days of Baja. This hotel was probably top dawg during its day and its still super nice. Has a great tile lobby with a spiral stair case and aquariams. The rooms have all been redone. The best part is the location, literally a five minute stumble home from the bar plus the hotel fully wraps around its own parking so it is totally secure.

No pool, but great location, restaurant for breakfast, comfy beds, parking, cable, tons of hot water, for 40 bucks you won't find something better, trust me I looked.

One of the worst hotels I have been in.. the room had a pungent smell of old perfume.. the rugs in the room were dirty.. I couldn't stay in the room it smelled so bad.. I tried to get another room (the hotel was practically empty) but they refused. I wanted my money back but they refused.. I had to go to another hotel..

You would expect good internet servin 2022 at a hotel of this level but no. Despite 10 routers each one fails after a few minutes. You constantly bounce between logging on to another connection all night long. I believe the management has this programmed intentionally to discourage downloads or constant use. But we pay to have basic internet access. They do not care. I have complained several times and all I get is "I'm sorry"

Great location close to everything in the downtown area. The nightclub on the outerside of the hotel is a fabulous great show. Love it. Very classic hotel. My partner and I will mot stay anywhere else. It is a classic experience. This hotel is perfectly located in the downtown area. There is no need to dive anywhere within the downtown area.

Hotel Santo Tomas!
Right across the street from a 7-11 Oxxo and the plaza. The famous Mercado negro for all of the seafood is just across the street to you're right a block or two.The Hotel itself is well kept and the lobby is surprisingly Beautiful. There are plenty of restaurants and shops behind the Hotel and if you walk down far enough, there is even a Sears!

Stayed here for one night after moving from the backpackers. Walked in off the street and got a good price of 415p for a double room. Room was huge with massive shower. Free internet everywhere and also free wifi in the room. Location very good in the centre of town. Would def recommend.

Welcome to Hotel Santo Tomas in " La Bella Cenicienta".

" The Beautiful Cinderella " This is actually the Nickname for Ensenada. I was born and raised here until I was about 20 years old.

So this is my story.

We were a small group of members from Super Sonic Samba School from San Diego,Ca. We go to Ensenada every year to Perform at the Parade on Sunday and at night on the main street of the whole Carnaval area. Sometimes we go there on Friday night to party/perform the whole weekend.
We were so tired, some went to different places. Our small group of 6 people end up at a hotel from Hell in the worse area of Ensenada. ( Prostitution, bad smell and other stuff you really do not want to mention here). I suggested some of the friends to go and find anoter place to stay. This was way!!! after midnight. We were tired and stressed out about the situation. We walked only few block and end up at Hotel Santo Tomas. We were 4 in our group. We got a room with 2 full beds, a balcony to the main Boulevard Costero, Very nice and clean bathroom, with lots of towels. We were so pleased with the room. The only thing is that you can hear people from the room next to you. Well it turned out that it was a soccer team next to us continuing parting until about 4 in the morning. We were so tired that we just showered and went to bed.. The lobby is very clean and nice atmosphere. You have a secure parking lot. I will totally recomend this one to eveyone I know. Really.

We reserved a couple of rooms for guest that attended my son's wedding in Ensenada. The Hotel was clean, roomy and the front desk was very friendly. The only problem was that the rooms smelled musty and looked a little worn. If you can live with that and the noise then it's an ok place to stay. If you want something that's VERY clean and only two blocks from the main street then check out Hotel Del Valle for half the cost. My next visit will diffenantly be there.
