We love San Felipe! That is wounderful small rural town, so peacefull and quite (well, we were in the mid-week, out of season), do not expect much of night-life in this village. The beach is wounderful and El Cortez has the best chunk of it. The sea was nice, blue and warm in the last week of October (Pacific was...

We stayed at the "El Cortez" hotel for over a week last month. They have canceled our reservations initially because we didn't pay a deposit (when we made the reservations three months earlier they told us that no deposit was necessary). Anyway, we got the rooms (even though the hotel was booked full the day we arrived). The first couple...

We drove down from the Northern Yosemite area. It took us 12 1/2 hours. We had e-mailed the El Cortez for a reservation and was told it was not needed as there were plenty of rooms. That was true. Upon arrival, we found a very nice desk clerk who spoke excellent English. He asked if we'd like a bungalow on...

Let me begin by saying that the El Cortez is situated on what could (emphasis on COULD) be one of the most beautiful beaches in northern Baja, with breathtaking views that change as the day and tides progress. San Felipe offers a laid back location and great food, all while being easily accessible. However, the El Cortez Hotel did not...

We didn't have a reservation but found a helpful front office person-Carlos, a personable college student from Santa Barbara, now living & studying in San Felipe. 4 of us stayed on a Sun. night on our way southward. Would like to have spent a few days. Stayed in beach front bungalows-clean & attractive. Nice hot water shower. No wash clothes...

A group of three co-workers as well as myself went down in July 2004. I was the only person familiar with San Felipe and sure left an impression on the other three I took with me. The hotel was awesome, the air conditioned $75 rooms comfortably handled two people and the showers were spacious and clean with hot water to...

We have gone twice to San Felipe and this last year we stayed at El Cortez. Everything you need is there, pool, food and beach. Very kid friendly. Kids had a great time. Planning to go back again this year. This years group number has grown from 5 families to 8.
