Stayed for the night, looking for something near the U.S. border and majority of the hotels were sold out but found Hotel America which offered 24 hrs front desk service and had rooms available. Traveling with family and friends so booked two rooms and they took cash/cash deposits (credit card not needed per agent) limited parking so we had to...

I used to go to TJ every six months and every visit I stayed here. Minimal noise if any, armed security, enclosed parking, clean, comfortable rooms. For being so close to Avenida Revolución you cannot beat the security and price.

The Hotel America doesn't change - it just keeps staying great! Enclosed parking with walking guard, friendly staff, clean rooms & good linens, and a cool panaderia a half-block away and plenty of restaurants & taquerias within walking distance. the only place i want to stay in TJ!

Cheap enough and seemingly clean. My white socks turned black and stank after walking on the carpet. My 5 am wake up call was a guy snoring loudly in the adjacent room. The elevator did not work, i was on the third floor. The internet did not work. Nor did it work last year when i stayed here one night....

After years of staying at 'modest' joints like the Hotel Ocampo or Hotel Suiza or Hotel Nubia, I finally broke down and hightailed it a couple blocks over to the Hotel America. I was looking for an alternative to Hotel Zaragoza - because Zaragoza was full and I needed that room right away. I'm glad I made that choice -...

“Take all the reviews here with a grain of salt. Hotels and restaurants in every part of the world ALL have good and bad days. And always - ALWAYS - ask for a key and check out the room before checking in. I usually run the shower and flush the toilet on that little visit before booking into the room, just to make sure I don't have to change rooms later.”
