Lovey hotel , very friendly not like a massive resort , has a cosy feel . It’s a great beach not far to walk .
The room was a little basic and a bit musty smell but you get used to it . The bathrooms need to be refurbished completely, new tiles , you can tell it’s old , however it’s clean . Shower good . Maybe the musty smell is from bathroom .
Good all entertainment stops at 10 pm as people do need to sleep .
Fridge not compulsory but would be useful . This would increase beer sales from the little shop on site.
Lots of restaurants around and supermarkets around. Great location bus and taxi cheap to PV and marina etc
Quick bus ride into town P. V which is a great town . Pick up a local Mirror paper from the lobby it gives you ideas . Go on a trip around luxury villas cost 700 pesos which goes directly to a charity for hair lip and cleft palate repair , really interesting,. All volunteers called IFC in paper.
We all have a different choice of music so if you can’t please everyone DO NOT play any around the pool that was the main thing that got on our nerves when you are there to relax .
Food great theme nights offered Mexican , international , Caribbean , Italian etc , wish they could put a notice up to say in front of restaurant but they don’t for some reason .
Really enjoyed our stay and would go back , it has a certain charm but don’t expect luxury.
Would recommend. Thankyou

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel & Mexican Charm Puerto Vallarta was a good all inclusive hotel for it's price range. The location is great, just a 5 minute taxi ride from the airport, if I remember correctly it was 120 pesos. Our room was roomy, and comfortable, it could of been a bit cleaner especially the bathroom side of things and the floors. Not too lound and short walk or shuttle ride to the beach. Lots of merchants trying to sell you things on the beach and food and drink are limited from the hotel side. When I went, food section was empty and service wasn't great. But at the hotel, at the pool area that was a whole different story, the service was EXCEPTIONAL!! Angeles and Cecar were the BEST servers we've ever had. (And I say that cause we've stayed in other all inclusive in past) They didn't miss a beat, they were efficient, friendly and always offering service with a smile. Honestly, they were the best part of our stay. I cannot wait for them to be able to remove their covid masks to see their friendly faces. All the staff was very friendly. The pool area was nice but they can use new pool towels, many were stained and ragged. This is definitely a family resort. The food was ok, but not to much of a selection so if you're a picky eater, might be tough. Cute little resort! A con would be that the WiFi is horrible, don't plan on getting much work done if you require WiFi, very unstable. Certain times and areas were better but that did make it challenging for us.

We were in PV for 10 nights and had beautiful weather every day, (approx 30° +) 🌴😎🍹 end of April 2022 We had a fun & relaxing girls getaway!

Pros: Budget friendly, Family friendly and great service
Cons: A little outdated, can use some updating. Poor WiFi and rooms can be cleaned better during the stay. Hotel not right on a beach, the beach is located a road down, short 5-8 minute walk, the hotel offers a beach shuttle.

We have stayed in a few Mexican resorts similar to Hacienda Buenaventura and this was one of the most friendliest, laid back, and fun resorts we have ever visited.

We traveled as a family- myself and husband, our two children, and my parents. When we were checking in, the city had disconnected the electricity to about everywhere so the front staff was having to work without computers and in the dark but they handled it effortlessly. Even without electricity, we were able to take things to our rooms and go straight to lunch.

The pool area was always clean and well kept. The staff started working on cleaning it every morning. The pool bar area was nice and spacious, we sat there a few evenings. The towels they provide are really big and soft, bonus!

Our room overlooked the pool area. The room was on the small side and could have used a little redecorating but overall, was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a decent size and had plenty of countertop space. The shower temperature was hard to regulate but it was sufficient. The bath linens were soft and clean. One downside to the location of our room: while it was nice to be able to look out over the pool and listen to the music while in our room, the pool bar was loud one night. They were supposed to close at 1 am and I was woken up after 1:30 by people yelling and laughing and it stayed that way for close to 40 minutes and I had the glass door shut and the heavy curtain drawn. I don't begrudge anyone having fun on their vacation but there wasn't anything I could do to get away from the noise while I was trying to sleep.

The restaurants were amazing to say the least. I've never had such good, authentic Mexican food at any Mexican resort. The buffet breakfast was so good! The chilaquiles verde were cooked perfectly and the omelettes were delicious. One night, they held a Mexican fiesta and it was so much fun. They set up the buffet around the pool and had entertainment. My kids loved that part. Lunch isn't such a big deal but the food was always good. We ate at the al la carte restaurant one night and that was delicious too.

The beach area was ok. It's right near the peddler's stand which I feel kept them coming at us all the time but the area was clean and walkable. The chairs are comfortable. and The snack bar was so-so but it served it's purpose. The waiters are very nice!

Overall, I would definitely stay here again. It's cozy and quaint, very friendly, very safe and you're sure to eat well

Overall very good value, but mixed drinks were served with no, or very little alcohol, Wifi is really bad, almost unusable in the rooms. Food choice was good on the buffet, but some items were not great, fish especially was very bland. Service at the Beach Club was terrible, very long waits for any service even with only a few guests, and "snacks" there are limited. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Annoying sales pitch for travel club and excursion services in the reception area. Coffee facilities in the room, but odd that you only get coffee supplied on the first day and that it is not restocked. Other items like soap / shampoo were restocked about every 3 days.

This hotel has a great Mexican ambiance, pool and restaurant area. Our room had a slight edge...broken table, loose toilet seat, noisy air conditioner, etc. The bed was comfortable and room service great. The pet iguanas walking around in the garden were delightful. Pool bar service was great while in the restaurant it was spotty. Food quality overall was ok although I had to ask for butter or cream for my coffee. The fare is clearly Mexican with some other options and this makes it a lot of fun to try different dishes. We did get a bit tired of the predictability so we ate out for three of the seven nights. We enjoyed the beach club twice and stayed till late. The service there was good although some of the beach vendors were tiresome at times. If you like a fairly typical Mexican experience with a slight edge for a reasonable price, this would be a good choice.

Prívate dinner area is exceptional
Fernando is a professional server, drinks and food was a pleasant experience.
Esther at the breakfast time was super friendly welcoming and professional.
Cesar is the activity coordinator makes the place fun with variety nor music and games.
Room can be swept more as it felt Sandy every day May be mop!
Shampoo and conditioner need to be replaced daily
Grass can be treated so we would get mosquito bites when stepping on it… the beach club is too small near a shop with vendors coming by too much.:( made us just go elsewhere to look for a quiet and peaceful beach.
Other than that we absolutely enjoyed everything that this place offers, we will definitely come back. Thank you 😊

You get what you pay for although I was surprised to find no fridges in the rooms. The hotel is old but the rooms are close to soundproof. We never heard our neighbors not even the tv
The staff is amazing; especiallyVictor
Location is good short bus ride to old town and walking distance to Walmart as well as restaurants and pubs when you want to eat other than the same food at the resort

This review is addressed to the General Manager.

Sir, you run a nice quaint hotel with EXCELLENT staff everywhere and food/ drink that is very decent to good. Cleanliness appears to be first rate. Evening entertainment is fun.
This is our 6 th visit here so there is something here that appeals to us.
This trip however, there are 2 items that require attention:

1) drinks are served in durable plastic cups which is great but then the bartenders wash and re-use them. I witnessed cups being washed in a sink with NO SOAP…simply dipped it water. This is not acceptable, especially during COVID!

2) the beach club has closed its facilities including washrooms, apparently for renovations.we are visiting the beach club for a couple hours each day and have not seen or heard any construction going on. I’m not sure who thought that renovations during peak season was a good idea?
When the beach club is 2 blocks from the hotel, how can you not have washroom facilities???
In the interim, why would you not have installed Porta Potties at the beach?
Offering a shuttle service back to the hotel for those requiring a washroom is simply not good enough.

Had we known this in advance we would have chosen a different hotel since our preference is to be at the beach, not the pool.

Please arrange temporary washroom facilities

Hotel/Rooms-Grounds/Food/Beach Club

The Hacienda is a very nice theme hotel of Mexico, charm and decor. The grounds of the holes are kept nicely, the pool is cleaned daily as well the pool deck and chairs. The cleaning is verified by supervisors each and every morning.

The rooms are old but are well manager, beds are good, easy to sleep, maid service is very good, rooms are cleaned daily with clean towels and bed linen, there is a large water container within the hall that you can fill up your bottle with no problem. This being our third visit, we usually stay main floor by the pool, 107-108. There is entertainment on the pool stage that ends no later then 11. Each room has air conditioning, we both ask for a blanket, which is good comparing to no air conditioning at all.

Now for the sad news, the food, BAD! This is the major issue of the hotel, small buffet, food is presented nicely but everything is cold! I complained one day when breaded squid was served and the fellow told me to use the Mexican hot sauce, no, sea food has to been cooked. I tried the pizza twice, each time cold, heated with a couple of 100 watt bulbs! Mexicans for some reason don’t have hot temp food! Best food choice was at breakfast where the omelet obviously has to be hot when cooked in front of you, it seems for lunch and supper, all food is cooked ahead of time then left for time to present, again, heated with 100 watt bulbs!

The beach club, a couple of years ago was top notch but has been down graded to a few chairs in the sand,a 10 min walk from the hotel, durable. There are NO washrooms, you have to go to a small store a block away. There is little to no food, the little bar serves warm beer, then the bar tender leaves with no replacement around their lunch break for 1 hour! There is a fellow that does rake the area in the morning, cleans the used chairs when you leave. Of note, there is no sun until about 12 noon until the sun rotates around the two Hilton towers, strictly shad in the morning.

In summary, this was our third visit, only 3 days, off to another hotel, the hotel has to improve the food and the beach club to have guests to return, until then, our next visit will not be any time soon……

We loved our stay in this quaint boutique style hotel. All rooms have a balcony that overlooks a courtyard with pool so you will never miss the action! It can be loud at night but we love that! People are out hanging by the outdoor bar at night and they often have live music or entertainment on the weekends!
The accommodations are rustic but very comfortable and clean! Great water pressure and comfortable beds. Room temperature is perfect!
Service and a personal touch are what’s best about this place! Ester, Cesar, Alfredo and Angeles knew everyone in our party by name and treated us like kings! There were many staff that interacted with us and everyone was very helpful and friendly!
We did have issues with the reception area. Alone lady was pleasant enough but anytime we needed info or help the reception staff was less than helpful and often rude. Make sure you exchange your currency before you get to hotel bc even though they say they can exchange small amounts of $ for you they could never exchange $20 for us! We also didn’t appreciate the sales pitch for a timeshare from the lady in guest services! Apparently she doesn’t work for the hotel but either way it was off putting to always have to hide from her bc she doesn’t take no for an answer!
The food is a disappointment at this place. I was served undercooked meat twice. The pork tacos or anything pork for that matter was gelatinous. It was literally pork fat! It was gross! My last night i got sick from the high end dinner i paid extra for in Saboras. The reservation only private dining experience!
The drinks are well worth the all inclusive set up! We loved the drinks!!!!
Over all we love the place and the staff treated us really well! We just didn’t care for the food so when we return we will just eat off property! The price is still worth the stay even without the food!

Good morning; We are in the hotel zone, from here you can go to shopping malls less than 10 minutes walking, or the maritime terminal less than 5 minutes walking, and for the Puerto Valalrta boardwalk we can advise you on taking the bus, since they are very insurance
Answer from Guest S
If we have rooms closer to the dining area and away from the road, when making your reservation please indicate your requirements.

There is a surcharge to use the facilities after check out which includes the pool, beach loungers, food and beverages. We had to pay a full nights rate to keep our room after check out noon time as we wanted to shower and change) before leaving for the airport at 5pm. Scam really because dinner isn’t available until 6pm so the extra charge only covered holding the room for 4-hours. We realize it is an all inclusive but the facilities did not have a decent change area if we opted for day passes. Luggage is held in an unsecured meeting room.
