Stayed at the Sheraton Buganvilias in January 2020 for 10 days and the experience has been just great.
From the moment we arrived until the end.
When we checked in we got, without any additional cost, upgraded to a Deluxe Ocean View Room with Terrace since we had requested double beds and that was the one available. A very professional check-in process.
Hotel is super clean, room was generally quiet (although a few people coming back late would pass by screaming and banging their doors late at night - that the education and respect that some guests DO NOT HAVE).
Service everywhere was excellent (pool, bars, towels).
If you are not interested in "timeshare" options, just ignore the army of people around the lobby/lobby bar area, just like we did, by courteously keeping them at bay
Service in La Villita buffet/restaurant was excellent with quality food and variety.
Most of the time we were greeted at the door by a gentle/kind/responsive IRIS, always with a smile, who everytime was able to accommodate us to a table of our choice.
The "mesero" Jesus Flores was always very helpful and went every time to extra steps to make our breakfast/lunch always enjoyable, suggesting combination of food for a mexican experience.
The two "chefs" (I do not remember their names) at the nightly pasta counter were helpful in accommodating my request (creating special combination of sauces at my request and exchanging ideas on pasta preparation).
Jorge, the "malletero" at the lobby was very helpful at the beginning when we checked in by showing us the room and its features (e.g. the use of a very difficult TV remote control), and at the end in handling and taking care of our valises until the transportation to the airport arrived.
In general all of the employees were very courteous and always with greetings of Buenos Dias/Buenas Noches
The pools, one in the main area of the hotel, and the other on the Bunganvilia vacations building were very clean (every night they would pressure wash the area and the chairs).
Lots of exotic plants and colourful flowers on the grounds
To the hotel Manager: please convey my appreciation to Jesus Flores, Iris, Jorge and the two Chefs with the message that the Italian friend Giovanni has appreciated their friendly service and interface!

I went to the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort and Convention Center in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for a 3- night stay with two of my girlfriends to celebrate an academic achievement, and found it the perfect place to not only celebrate, but also to unwind, relax and recharge one’s batteries. We had a deluxe, ocean view room with 2 double beds, and with the hotel located right on the beach, the view from our room was simply spectacular. A request for a roll away bed for the third person was promptly attended to. There were only two things I found annoying: the hotel staff was aggressive in marketing their time share options, enticing guests with free drinks while checking in, and roping them in for a presentation the next morning, with a lavish, free breakfast included. The second thing was that the shower stall in our deluxe room had poor plumbing, resulting in a flooding of the area outside, every time one of us took a shower. When we called to report it the first day, a housekeeper came at once and mopped up the mess, but subsequently, the matter was not attended to, and we adjusted by piling up towels on the floor outside the shower stall to absorb the water. Other than these two issues, the stay was fabulous - eating at the various restaurants serving exquisite food, lounging on the beach chairs under the palapas and enjoying the snacks and drinks that the waiters brought to us on the beach, participating in the fun activities in the pool area, or simply gazing at the ocean from the air conditioned comfort of our room. The staff members were very cordial and helpful, when they were not busy with their marketing of the hotel vacation offers. Overall, a fantastic resort to stay at! Definitely returning there with family next time!

My wife & I stayed here for 7 nights, with friends for Dia de los Muertos during Covid and were very impressed with this property and staff. Everything was exceptionally clean and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room on level 22 was great, comfy bed, large shower, fantastic oceanview. In fact, all rooms are ocean view. Pools were awesome and the pool bar staff were AWESOME, especially Jorge, at the swim up bar, who made us feel like family. Every single day he made sure the bar was stocked with the things we liked/ordered the day before, like scooby doo shots with Midori or red bull. Every day he would say "Today is the best day!" and thanks to Jorge, it truly was! We could not have had a better time without him! We look forward to returning to the Sheraton and would highly recommend this property. Premium location, close to the Maliecon, cab was only 85 pesos (less than $4). Attended Sheraton buganvillas resort for a wedding in February 2020, would not return.
I feel it is far too overpriced for the level of service you don’t get.
Poor food choices at the buffet and long wait times at the bar, servers get priority. I waited for 20 minutes with 3 other people waiting for drinks and an otherwise empty bar.
Timeshare people trying to rope you in all day no matter how many times you say no thank you.
Bars and restaurants run out of water bottles almost every afternoon which leaves you having to go off resort to get bottled water.
Room service simply reused a bottle of water in our room and filled it with tap water and placed the 25 peso label back into it. We know this because the tab on the top and the seal were both broken already.
We have been to numerous other resorts in Mexico and this one was far overpriced for less amenities.
But the weather was beautiful and the pools are fantastic and not too crowded. Beach is very nice as well and beautiful sunsets at night!

Very positive experience, starting with the check in, room cleaning, restaurant service.
Had a Deluxe Ocean View room with window only, but were upgraded to a similar room with a large balcony in the club area without any additional cost, because that was the one with two beds we had requested.
Very quiet, although a few people would speak loud and bang doors late at night.
Service in the buffet area La Villita was excellent. Most of the "meseros" were friendly and caring: but there is one, Jesus Flores who has provided excellent service that went beyond our expectations. Similarly the "hostess" Iris who would walk us to our table was kind, gentle and accommodating any of our seating preferences. Also the lobby attendant Jorge was very helpful in bringing the valises to the room and showing us the room area, and when we departed taking good care of our valises.
To the Hotel Manager: please extend our thanks and give special recognition to these outstanding individuals: Jesus Flores and Señorita Iris of LA VILLITA and Jorge of the lobby.

This was our 6th annual visit for another 2 week vacation at the Sheraton. We have been to other resorts but have chosen to come back year after year. The resort is beautiful, the food wonderful and staff exceptional. We have experienced nothing but positive interactions with the staff in every department at the resort.
We enjoy dining at the buffet as there many great choices and we appreciate the flexibility of not scheduling reservations for our meals, sometimes the pool is too much fun and too hard to leave. The staff at the buffet make the experience very enjoyable. Asuncion Hernandez and Joel Arechiga greeted us with open arms and bigs smiles every morning, they provided excellent service at the buffet. The daily interactions with this team make the experience seem as though you are not just eating at buffet but in a welcoming and enjoyable environment. We felt like we were special guests each day at our home away from home. Evening staff at the buffet did not disappoint. Everado remembered our likes and would ensure that we were served with our favourite drinks and even appetizers as soon as we were seated. There are many staff that work diligently keeping the area clean with the high volume of guests using the facilities. There is always something for everyone at the buffet. We did book one evening at the Italian Al La Carte, the staff and food were wonderful. The staff work hard to make everything feel special. Around the pool Manual Lima, Marco and Gamma are top notch servers. These gentlemen literally run to ensure everyone is served efficiently and always with a joke or a smile. We appreciate the integrity of the maid staff in the years that we have been visiting our rooms are always clean and our belongings secure. We appreciate that each time return to the resort the staff remember and welcome us. We look forward to seeing them each year as we feel we are up with meeting old friends. Sister and I just spent a week at the Sheraton Buganvilias resort. Great location! We had a great time, there was always something to do at the Hotel side (there is another 'time-share' owners building) if you wanted to stay busy, or just relax and listen to the ocean..Service was exceptional specially around the pool bar and Palapas. Everyone was so attentive and friendly. Sergio and Eduardo, pool bar-tenders, were amazing everyday and made sure our drinks were done just the way we liked them, Francisco and "Gimmy" (can't spell his full name..?) were awesome at taking care of our needs too..Room service was very good. Our room was always clean and our needs were met very quickly if we needed additional water or towels. Security always present, still have the "sales" people at the front desk trying to get you to buy-in time shares but with a little finesse they leave you alone..;) Dinner at the Gaviota was great and we loved the food at the Villita every day. Champagne Sunday brunch was Fantastic! loved the Mariachis!!We loved this hotel and will definitely return again for a longer stay.

I was wary about travelling out of the US, but I had nothing to fear! The staff's priority is to keep everyone safe. We arrived to a room that had a "sanitized" sticker that had to be broken to enter the room. The room was immaculate. Everywhere we went at the resort, the staff was watching out for us and ensuring we were comfortable. They took more precautions than many places in the US! I can't say enough about Manuel at the pool. He made sure we had everything we need. We never had to get his attention because he checked on us regularly. He was one of the highlights of our trip. Such a friendly and kind person. We made a point of sitting in his area everyday. The food was great, though we didn't eat in any restaurants other than the breakfast buffet at La Villita and poolside snacks. Make sure you go to the Sunday Brunch--it is worth it! They had the Mexican Fiesta on Thursday night too. If you feel like getting out, it is a short walk to Malecon Boardwalk. It is nice not to feel trapped in your resort as in other places. There is also a store nearby that has reasonable prices if you need to shop for food and other essentials. When our trip was nearing the end, we were able to get our COVID tests onsite. So convenient! We look forward to coming back again!

We love going to the Sheraton because it’s a reasonably priced hotel with great amenities that’s walking distance from downtown, the malecon, and our favorite restaurants. They are extremely clean and conscious of recent covid standards including enforcing masks around the hotel, limiting elevator capacities, and encouraging guests to use the hand sanitizing and shoe cleansing stations upon arrival to the hotel. There’s a large gym which we love and plenty of room at the pool. This time, my husband I chose the club upgrade which included breakfast, a private beach area, and appetizers/drinks in the evenings which was well worth the money. The view from the 23rd floor was also a bonus.

This is our first time back since the Pandemic. The place is still well maintained and the staff are all so friendly and everyone working there wore masks and were respectful of social distancing. It was obvious that they were not fully staffed due to the low census but they still provided good service. Loved the gentleman out front who took care of our luggage and got us our taxis( Jesus, Rodolfo, and Eduardo). The were so wonderful. Loved our pool waiters Pablo and Marco. They were so friendly and efficient, they always had a smile on their face. The only thing I really missed was the activities they used to have at the pool daily. We were there for 7 days and it wasn't until day 5 they put up a volleyball net in the pool but it wasn't until day 6 that they had and organize volleyball game. The activity director Leslie organized a volleyball game. Leslie is so much fun and has so much energy, I wish she could do activities by the pool everyday. I think it would just add to the fun atmosphere there. Sheraton Buganvilias is almost in a prime location so walking is always an option there. We cannot wait to go back.
