Room with balcony - no kitchen - only 3 shabby/worn small bath towels in room with daily reminder that if any were missing we would be charged. No fridge, no kettle, no coffee in room, no safe, no iron, no hair drier and only the basic soap, shampoo. Took us a long time running the water to get it to heat up to enable a warm shower. We had a difficult time sleeping as the bed was rock hard and even after we purchased a 2" foamy at Wal Mart we still had a very hard bed. Noise level was unbearable with two pit bull dogs across the street continually barking and kids running and screaming in the halls at 7am. Breakfast is a joke, basic ingredients for tortillas only with some fruit (best part) and the coffee was undrinkable. Good cheap cafe close by for good breakfast and great coffee for basically the same price as at the hotel. Pool is shallow and doesn't open until 9am with half the 8 loungers already reserved. Kitchen units are probably a bit better (cook your own meals) and cheaper for the long timer snowbirds but we would not recommend this hotel mainly because of the noise and hard bed. Hotel staff were friendly and housekeeping acceptable for what they had to work with. Area the hotel is in is friendly and within a short walk of bus stops.

A mini hotel-resort located in the Hotel Zone in PV. I found the Vallartasol Hotel to be basic but very comfy for my stay in PV. The room was large and had two beds, one working light in the room but natural light made up for it. The hotel offered an amazing pool for the guests which was heated and very much enjoyed. The staff did not speak much english but were kind and tried to help as much as possible. Daily house keeping (except Sunday) kept the room fresh and clean after a big day of touring around. Overall a very good stay, amazing price, and a safe hotel.

The Vallartasol is a family hotel with a variety of rooms including rooms with kitchens. The pool is not very big so has a limited amount of room for deck chairs making it unsuitable for larger groups who want to spend the days together around the pool. It is ideal for retired couples and families who like to cook their own meals and travel by bus around Puerto Vallarta or lounge around the pool. The location is central and within walking distance of three major food stores. The free Wi-Fi is not very strong in some of the rooms but in the pool or breakfast area it is good. The rooms are a decent size and the maid service is excellent, in fact all of the staff are very helpful. It was our second time there and we have already booked for 2 months next year.

This hotel is a perfect place if you want to stay in PV for more than a few days. Its location: close to the best beach (five minutes walk) and the best restaurant (Barra Bistro, also five minutes walk). Blue buses drive you to the Centre all the time from the bus stop just across the boulevard. (7.50 pesos). The rooms are very variable. The ones with kitchenettes and balconeries are definitely the best ones (although slightly more expecive) - they are situated in the second floor on the one wing, and face the swimming pool. The beds have quite hard matresses, but you can ask for a «sponge matress» if you like it softer. If you don’t like noisy children - stay away, especially in holydays. During the nights it’s usually a quiet hotel, but in day time there can also be some noise from the construction work. Vallartasol is a cosy, laid back and cheap hotel, very clean and well managed by a friendly staff. Highly recommended if you want to avoid the «All Inclusive Machines» and the crowded beaches downtown.
