This hotel is a small quaint hotel located on the north side of town. It will take about 10-15 minutes to reach Zona Romanticá if that is your final destination. We opted to use the cabs opposed to Uber. Depending on your negotiation skills it could either be cheaper, the same price or more expensive than Uber. I have no other complaints.
Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was always fresh and good. The staff (Frida :)) were all pleasant and polite the entire time. The rooms were on par with 4-5 standards by American standards. The rooftop pool with bar was an added bonus. I legitimately didn’t want to leave the room because the view from my room was absolutely breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to PVR who wants luxury on a budget. The hotel is also taking extreme covid precautions to ensure the safety of all hotel staff and guests. I will be back Mio Vallarta

We were able to check in early which was wonderful as we had a boat day planned. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. A few tips though: the bellhop should show how the ac works and give some pointers to amenities once in the room. When we returned from the boat ride we made our way to the restaurant and it was the most awkward experience ever. The food took over two hours to get to our table, the servers ignored us multiple times, and none of our drinks even made it. We wanted to cancel the rest of our stay after that. The next morning we decided we'd at least look at the pool before we checked out early and boy are we happy we did! Ali was courteous, attentive, and hilarious. Everything we could ask for in a server. The food came quickly and we rarely even had to ask for a refill unless we wanted to change the drink. The next day, when we arrived at the pool, Ali brought our drinks over before we even ordered any! The whole poolside team is wonderful! Ali, Yesse and the male bartender worked together great while being professional and keeping the environment fun. They have a DJ that starts up just before the Sun is setting and then they top it off with a live performance during sunset in the afternoon. The pool experience completely saved our stay as there is no beach access at all but the rooms are nice and the pool is great. Thanks for saving our experience Ali!!

The hotel is new and fresh and modern. The rooms are spacious, and the walk-in shower has very good water pressure. The front desk staff, room-service and dining room attendants were all very hospitable, informative and attentive to all our needs. We loved the set up at the roof-top pool, and spent quite a bit of time there relaxing and enjoying the margarita bar. The Hotel Mio was well located, and we really feel fortunate to have found it.

I have never experienced such bad service at hotel which has 4stars, the cards are not working you need ro go to reception again and again. It is really hard to get laundry, you need to call a number in which no one is talking and they keep changing lines and at the end nobody knows where you can wash your clothes then i came to reception they said you only can leave the laundry in your room at 11am so i asked maybe i can give you now, and you wqsh tomorrow, they said no. Again strange thing the next day happened, when we ordered some food in the rooftop bar, after we wanted to go to the room, the bartender said he can’t write the bill to our room, we hadn’t any money woth us, so he said I’m coming to your room and you are paying, that was really quirky. Then another day i went to have breakfast early and later my mom water to eat so i went with her just for company, and when she got her food, the waiter brought a cup for her only we asked why , she said if i want to drink coffee i need to pay because i already had breakfast?! For a cup of americano?!? Okay, then when we jad to check out we asked to leave one luggage for two days, they said the price 600pesos i said mm okay, so i wanted to pau worh card , they said no you need to pay cash, i hadn’t , so then they said go to the bank to exchange it.So yeah , i would never go here again.

We had a really nice stay for my daughter's birthday. The breakfast was wonderful and the service was outstanding! Yzbeth, Tristan, and Cesar were super attentive and polite and they took care of us with a warm smile. We were never made to feel like a bother, even with our large group that included 5 children and a toddler. The only negative is that we were not aware ahead of time that the property's pool was adults only. The pool at the all inclusive sister property was overcrowded with no lounge chairs available and we were unable to purchase any beverages at all, not even bottled waters.

Very clean, spacious, comfortable rooms. Complete with hairdryer, nice fluffy towels, and shampoo and shower gel in the shower. (bring conditioner).
Rooftop patio is lovely when you want some relaxation time and don’t want all the sand between your toes! Hot tub could’ve been warmer in the evening, but the pool was a great temperature. Sometimes if you order food at the bar, it will take 30 minutes or so to come.
When the balcony doors are open, road noise is very present. Buses and motorcycles are loud from 7 AM until midnight for sure.
No coffee maker in the room. In the morning if you want coffee, you have to go down to the coffee maker in the lobby near the dining room. So bring down a light housecoat to throw on over your jammies when you run down for Java! No face cloths (but you can ask for some). Drinkable water is on each floor by the elevators so make sure you bring a big water bottle with you!
Breakfast buffet is $30 Canadian if you don’t include a meal plan during your stay. The three elevators can sometimes be a bit slow going from the lobby to the 11th floor. You can get an app to use to get you on and off the elevator versus a single plastic key card.
Comfortable access to the beach via a nice walkway that goes through Friendly Puerto Vallarta hotel.
Walking down to the Malecon takes close to an hour, so be sure you bring some good supportive runners if you plan to do some walking. Leave early in the morning. It gets hot!
Overall a lovely stay.

Absolutely best bang for the buck. Stay here at least a couple of nights. All good comments confirmed. Pros: View, adults only, rooftop pool, beach access and facilities, easy 10p bus to the Malecon, grocery store and cheap authentic eats within 5 min. Coffee makers are back and water free. Con: Rooms closer to the road get somewhat noisy - bring earplugs if a light sleeper.

we stay at hotel 4 nights, in general hotel is nice, personnel is unprofessional and arrogant. 2 people from our group have morning flight, and we come for breakfast 3 minutes early, and staff instead give help whey make us wait more to serve, as we wait and don't have time we left without breakfast. 2 more persons want to leave bag to storage whey ask 40 USD in cash only. not accept credit card. Hotel very far from beach, and beach not good for swim.

The accommodations were amazing. Our room was so clean and spacious. The staff were so kind and personable. They made our stay very pleasant, from greetings us each time they saw us to checking in to ensure our stay was going well. We only ate breakfast each day, but the dining staff were present with attentive service. We checked out the pool and rooftop area twice. The water was the perfect warm temperature on cool nights and the view was amazing. We recommend Hotel Mio for anyone wanting rest and relaxation for a bit of rest and play as well given the location and proximity to great restaurants and social spaces. We would be happy to stay again. Thank you all!

We made two reservations for Hotel Mio in Puerto Vallarta through Expedia. The Hotel cancelled our reservations without knowledge and stated they could no longer honor the price we received through Expedia. Be very cautious when booking this Hotel as you may get there and find out that you don't actually have a reservation.
