Pinnacle Resorts 220 offers travelers spacious, clean rooms, albeit with some concerns about additional fees diminishing the perceived value. The hotel's prime location is popular among guests, despite the challenging hill, and the full kitchens and rooftop pool are highlights of the well-appointed amenities.
While the atmosphere is generally appreciated, with special mention of the Sky Lounge and room views, a few find the decor dated. Service is largely commended for professionalism but is occasionally marred by responsiveness and billing issues.

Detailed Reviews
This hotel/condo is ideal if you want to be in the middle of the action and restaurants in the romantic zone and be able to sleep without being disturb by the night life around. The property is not directly on the beach (2 minutes away) but offer a breath taking infinity pool. The complete kitchen is a most for healthy breakfast and lunch and the washer/dryer in the unit is defiantly a must. I would recommend this hotel to people that like to stay away from all inclusive and that appreciate the beautiful diversity that the romantic zone offer to travellers.

I had a two bedroom, two bathroom unit on the second floor of the 220 building. The unit itself was beautiful, clean, spacious, and very comfortable for 4 people. It felt like a fully-appointed two bedroom apartment. The TV didn't work well, but I wasn't there to watch TV, so I didn't notice it much. The rooftop pool and bar has a breathtaking view - one of the best views you will find in Vallarta. The food and drinks at the rooftop bar are expensive, but it is a great place to relax and swim, so I thought it was worth it. The location of the property is also great - right in the heart of the Zona Romantica. I would give the property itself 5 stars.
The 4 star rating is due to two issues I had with the way the property is managed. My primary issue was the fact that I reserved a room with a "partial ocean view" based on the picture on the website which showed a nice view of the ocean off to the side. My room actually faced the ocean but the other Pinnacle building was directly in front, so I basically had a view of another building. I could catch a glimpse of the ocean from the balcony if I stood on my toes and looked off to either side, so technically I had a "partial ocean view', with the emphasis on the word, "partial." I was there in low season, and I knew other rooms were available, so I asked to be moved to a room on a higher floor, but the management wouldn't even consider the request.
My secondary issue had to do with security at the property. They require guests to leave their drivers licenses at the front desk, which I find to be an excessive security measure. I have traveled all over the world and have never seen this practice before. They also clip a stiff plastic band on your wrist that they expect you to wear for your entire stay. I found it uncomfortable and clipped it off after I scratched myself while taking a shower. The next time I returned to the property I had a brief but ugly argument with the security guard who knew full well that I was a guest. Showing your room key with the hotel logo should be sufficient proof that you are staying there. The key would be harder to fake than a plain white plastic wrist band.
Overall, I loved this place and will stay there again, but in the other building and on a higher floor. And I will still refuse to wear the wristband.

The rooftop pool is quite extraordinary. The water, views, and ambience our fantastic. The staff is very helpful and hardworking, though every now and then they could have made more rounds for drinks. Quelle horror: we actually had to walk ten steps to the bar sometimes to order drinks. The condos/rooms were quite spacious, comfortable and well appointed; the cleaning staff was hard working and diligent. Drawbacks: we were told that the filtered water was from the fridge, though it would have been nice if there was more filtered water, like coming out of the sink as in other first class hotels.

We have been coming to PV since 2006 and have stayed in many different condos but this was our first time staying at the Pinnacle Residencies for 11 nights, which we booked through Homeaway.com. The two bedroom apartment was as described, comfortable for 2 couples, clean, stocked with amenities, everything worked, and the view even from the 3rd floor was great. The problem that overshadowed our stay was the extremely tight security policies at the Pinnacle. We are older, established couples, not college spring breakers throwing parties. You are expected to wear wristbands 24 hours a day (which was not in our rental contract) and any guest access at any time of the day is tightly controlled. Guests are not allowed at the rooftop pool (unless they purchase a day pass). The overnight security guard needs to be removed. Despite having a key card to enter, he proceeded to profile my husband, telling him he wasn't allowed to enter the building, and did not know how to access the registry that we signed on day 1. Furthermore, friends in another unit were also harassed by the same guard on another occasion. Pool staff also ejected friends of ours staying elsewhere, for using the bracelets of friends in our unit who departed early. A little common sense, some flexibility, and less militant staff would have otherwise made this the perfect trip. In the 14 years that we have come to PV, we've never experienced anything like this. There are too many incredible places to stay in PV, we won't be returning to the Pinnacle. We were with a group of 30+ people celebrating a 60th bday who were interested in the Pinnacle, but they will not consider it now after our experience.

From the moment we arrived the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The views from our Units (502 and 503) were unobstructed and unbelievable. The units were professionally cleaned and designer decorated with fully stocked kitchens. The rooftop pool with a fully staffed bar and views of the entire city made it difficult to leave the property. The location can't be beat. We were in the center of everything the Romantic Zone has to offer. I have already booked my next trip and requested the same units!

Modern and clean property with amazing views! The location and proximity to the beach is nearly ideal. Our apartment was nicely furnished and well-stocked with untensils, glassware, iron and ironing board, etc. They also offer a grocery service to stock the unit before you arrive. We had some errors in the items they purchased due to language/translation, but they credited our account for the incorrect items. There are also a couple ‘mini-supers’ nearby that offered the items we were looking for and would have been just as easy.
Phenomenal (and beautiful) rooftop pool!

The room was spacious, very generously equipped with washer, dryer, full kitchen equipment.
If you can, get a room not facing the street, on the balcony it can get very loud during rush hour.
At night, noise is no issue at all.
What kept us from giving 5 stars was the unreliable internet. We were trying to work remotely and we don’t need fast internet but we need stable internet for video/ phone conferences etc.
that was not given, internet keeps dropping out for 30-60s every 5 minutes. Switching to other room’ /s wifi (they all have the same password) helps temporarily.

The condo was great and the buildings and pools very nice.
We booked for a 3 week stay and had other friends book for shorter stays to coincide with our visit. What we did not realize before any of us booked was the very strict guest policy that this property enforces. In order to visit guests staying in one of the other towers, we were limited to 2 guests at a time. If we wanted to join at each other's pool, we each had to pay $20USD/pp per day to visit. Ridiculous.
The unit we rented was a two bedroom condo with a large terrace with outdoor dining and bbq. We figured it would be an ideal place to host friends visiting PV and also those who live in PV. Not the case, we were limited to 2 guests at any time.
So - lovely building, but the guest policies are simply inappropriate.

We came as a family of three in august. We have a 4yo son. This place is great - it has space for a family to relax, a w/d, a kitchen sink. All it’s missing to be A+ family friendly is a bathtub. The shower head is detachable, though, so it ended up being just fine for a kid who is old enough to stand still.
I get kind of picky about beds & pillows and I will say this place has nailed it. Our 4 yo is still scared to wake up in a strange place alone, and the king bed was plenty big enough for all three of us, and the mattress was good quality. One person turning didn’t cause everyone else to bounce around and wake up, and it was soft enough not to hurt my pregnant hips. The pillows - there are six (!!) on the king bed and it was awesome.
Okay the best part of all, the pool. This pool is so relaxing, so peaceful, so serene. We spent about four hours each day in it. Little one enjoyed virgin daiquiris and juices and the view is breathtaking. Pleasant music, nice staff, the temperature of the water is perfect. Refreshing but not too cold. I generally can’t be bothered to stay in a pool for very long, but this one was so inviting I had no problem floating around w my son for hours.
The property is on a hill, and the stairs are cumbersome. Luckily the hotel put in a funicular and the ride down is quick and easy. Three blocks to the beach, no problem. Just all around lovely.

We stayed in the “residences” TH6. Here adopting a rescue dog, so requested a pet friendly room. The unit was extremely clean (thank you Martina) and very well stocked, complete with oven, microwave, washer/dryer/detergent/softener, dishwasher, soap, toaster, and blender. The patio (which contained a bbq) was very secure for the dog.

Hello! Unfortunately, it's just for Pinnacle 220 guest. But you can access to our bar and enjoy our Happy Hourc from 5:30-8:00 pm.
Hi Dxfan
I am not aware of any menu online with pricing but I will tell you they are very reasonably priced. We drank, ate and snacked by the pool all week and our bill was under $300 and we did not skimp on anything
Hope this helps
Thanks for contact us! We are 5 minutes away to the beach so you can easily get there walking, we even have a cable car. About choosing between 220 or 180, both are very good options but 220 has been voted as "best rooftop pool in Vallarta". Restaurants are all over the area, there's even one restaurant called "cafetalito" that is right in front of the hotel, same with bars. Food and drinks are not expensive and unfortunately you can not bring your own drinks to the pool. If there's anything else you need to know we are happy to help :-)
