First of all, this hotel is in Zihuatanejo, not Ixtapa. Huge difference. Ixtapa has most of the American-style resort hotels, Zihua doesn't. There is no swimming pool for you to 'reserve' deck chairs with a towel first thing in the morning. There is no elevator. The front desk person may or may not speak English. Great location, which is why we booked here. But 2 miserable sleeps later, we had to move. The room was filthy, especially the bathroom. The building design seems to allow every single noise to echo and filter into the rooms day and night. There is no temp control on the AC so by 3am you are freezing, but if you...

We went to Zihuatanejo and found this hotel when we got there since our first choice fell through. One of our requirements in looking for a place was that the AC worked well, plus we needed several rooms since we were there with a lot of family, I believe we ended up renting about 6 rooms all together! I would recommend stayong at the hotel, with a few caveats (below). It is no frills, but safe and clean. The hotel staff is nice and courteous. The location is nice, right on the beachfront. My wife and I stayed there 6 days so far and 3 more, and might come again. About the beach, I knew ahead of time...
