We found that hotels tend to be a bit more expensive for what one gets in Guanajuato than in some other Mexican cities such as Guadalajara . That said, we thought that the Hotel Insurgente Allende was okay. We arrived there on the recommendation of the taxi driver from the bus station and had to negotiate a slightly lower price... More

On arriving, I didn't think much of the hotel either,... More

We stayed in the Hotel Insurgente after a recommendation from a tour operator with whom we were going on a trip that evening. Although I'm always skeptical of booking something this way- you never know if it's the "real" price, or with a substantial kickback- I was nevertheless pleased with the value and price. The first room I inspected was... More

Right in front there is a "Comercial Mexicana" (Dept. store) where you can buy esentials... More

Located right on Juarez Street near the Hidalgo Market and an easy walk to all of the downtown sights of Guanajuato, this hotel is very convenient. I never waited a minute for a taxi directly in front. There is a large supermarket less than a block away and a pleasant restaurant is downstairs. I had an interior room which eliminated... More

The Hotel Insurgete Allende is as simple as life is in the city of Guanajuato. Located in the central district of the city. It is a great place to get started on your daily adventures. The hotel itself is very old. I stayed here about 13 years ago and not much has change. The rooms are small and include a... More
