My wife and I just returned from a four-day stay at Case Estrella, in Guanajuato, Mexico. We visited Guanajuato to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We could not have been happier with the city and with Case Estrella. The people at Case Estrella were wonderful, the room incredible, the food a daily delight. We met a great couple with whom we... We had a great stay at Casa Estrella. Sharon has such pride in her home, and her staff, especially Juan and Javier, were awesome. Javier took us to San Miguel de Allende one day, stopping at all of the pottery towns along the way. We even got to sample local ice creams in Dolores Hidalgo - it was great. They... More

Every point of detail is accounted for at Casa Estrella. Angelica, Juan, Adriana, Paula, Sharon and Chaquita are all fabulous. The breakfasts were delicious and the beds as fine as a 5 star hotel. The Casa is spotless, beautiful and comfortable and the view is unparalleled. Guanajuato is a wonderful, vibrant, young and authentic town.

What a truly beautiful place! Perched on the hills of Valenciana and looking directly into the color and nightlights of the city of Guanajuato--breathtaking! The owner Sharon and staff are first class with every amenity this couple felt important. We will return.

Casa Estrella is a relatively new B&B owned by two Americans, one of whom lives on property. It is tastefully designed, quietly luxurious and well run,has nice sized rooms, a beautiful view of the city and surrounding mountains and a lovely heated pool. Located a few minutes interesting drive from the center of the city. The breakfasts were excellent and the... More

My husband and I just got back from what has turned out to be the best trip yet to Mexico. Staying at Casa Estrella was perfect. First, the inn itself is magnificant in all aspects. It sits atop the hills of the city with glorious views from all rooms. The attention to detail in decorating and amenities is top notch.... More

With a few weeks to go before our Mexico trip we decided to get serious about finding a place to stay in Guanajuato for a few days before meeting up with our friends in San Miguel. The first few places we looked at in town were already booked and this became the pattern. We were getting very nervous when we... More

Casa Estrella is an amazing inn/B&B that we found thanks to the previous posts here. Thank you to all for steering us in its direction! After staying at a beautiful but haughty inn in San Miguel de Allende where we were made to feel like intruders, we encountered the complete opposite at Casa Estrella. Sharon, the resident owner, and her... More

I'd give a higher than excellent rating if possible. Staying at Casa de Estrella is like staying at the home of a cool friend with excellent taste. Sharon is extremely gracious and helpful. The decor is beautiful and features the work of local artists including the ceramicists Capelo and La Cruz. Their studios are in walking distance (steep hill). Javier... More

“Anything we needed they took care of. Did not use a fitness area, so cannot elaborate on that point. Safe neighborhood - we walked a lot, and taxis were easily accessible as well. We stayed in quarters that were separated from the main part of the house. It was quiet. At night a nice breeze. Ceiling fans if needed, but we didn't need them. Jetted tub and shower in our bath was nice too. Luscious linens and very well appointed with art and artifacts from throughout Mexico. Satellite TV was nice when we wanted to watch an NBA playoff game. Lots of quarters so great for groups and they can cater - we will think about it in the future for a group getaway or wedding. The Inn is high on the hillside away from the city center so it is much quieter than downtown. They city is VERY loud with noise until late at night, and sometimes we could hear the music drift even up to the hill top at night - but it was pleasant. Down in the center of town I don't think we would have gotten much sleep.”
