We don't have any experience with other hotels in Guanajuato, but El Zopilote Mojado was recommended to us as the best place to stay by someone who does and it has to be the best buy in town. A great location - central and on a lovely plazuela - at a super price. The room was very clean, safe, and...

I dont understand all the raves. The hotel is clean and priced right.....but that is about the extent of it. What they dont tell you, is that you cannot get there by taxi. You can get close, but not to the front door. From one direction you need to go about 150 yards up a steep flight of stairs. From...

We are sorry that you were not completely satisfied with your stay. We appreciate that you took the time to write your comments! We are located off of the few main streets which has the advantage of no traffic noise and the chance to experience a local neighborhood (elementary school and all!). Part of the uniqueness of Guanajuato are the...

Reasons to stay at El Zopilote Mojado: 1) Raul and his American-born wife, Ana. 2) Beautiful, clean rooms with private baths 3) Gorgeous terraces with the best views of Guanajuato 4) Close to the jardin but not IN it 5) Good food prepared and served by Trini and her colleagues - not just inexpensive breakfast if you're staying there but...

If you want a beautiful base of operations while you explore Guanajuato, this place is perfect. We had the Bufo room at the top of the second house, with a MASSIVE patio and a gorgeous panoramic view of the city. The managers are extremely friendly and happy to chat with you, the breakfast is cheap (40 pesos) and delicious (cappuchino,...

We just returned from a 6 night stay at El Zopilote Mojado, which we enjoyed thoroghly. it is off a lovely plaza that makes you feel like you are really living in a beautiful neighborhood in Guanajuato. Our room was in the Perros Muertos building, just up a callejonada from this plaza containing the main location and its welcoming café,...

El Zopilote Mojado isn't a traditional hotel but a charming guest house with three lovely rooms and additional rooms nearby. It is located on a quiet plaza with no car traffic. It is in a great central location in the historic part of town. The room was spacious, beautiful and immaculate and comfortable. The bathroom was large with plenty of...

I stayed at El Zopilote for one night and quickly relocated to something far more reasonable. For $50 a night I got a very clean and attractive room, but with NO TELEVISION, NO PRIVATE BATH & NO BREAKFAST INCLUDED. I am now staying around the corner for less than half that amount and have an equally attractive place WITH TELEVISION,...

We are sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay with us! We do want to clarify that our rate DOES include a private bath - in the case of the Sun Room, this bathroom is not "en suite" (it is just outside of the room) but is for the exclusive use of the Sun Room guest. We welcome...

We just came back after spending 4 nights at the El Zopilote Mojado. If you want a clean, centrally located ( 3 minute walk to main plaza), reasonably priced, quiet place- look no further ! Furthermore, a great breakfast for $4 and extremely nice and helpful hosts constitute an extra bonus. In summary- VERY highly recommended !

We spent five nights at El Zopilote Mojado, in the Yellow Room. It's a lovely place, clean and comfortable. We had a private bath--although not attached to the room--and a balcony big enough to view the beautiful street below. There is also a roof terrace with a terrific view. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. The cafe downstairs...
