Am a great believer of the guide books Namely The Rough Guide. I stayed here for four nights and was perfectly comfortable. I asked for a corner room and paid the extra 20 or 30 pesos. 420 pesos aight -about 35 USD. Nice sized room with two windows. I agree with all the comments about the staff though the did...

I stayed here for one night, and it was a great deal considering the location (about $30 a night). The room was clean as was the bathroom. The lobby and common areas had a faint aroma of cigarette, not enough to be truly bothersome, though. The staff were generally serious and noninviting, but courteous.

As a frequent traveler and guide to DF, I find it that people like the experience of a hostel here. However, for a few pesos more, you could have a clean, very basic, but EXCELLENTLY located hotel with: elevator, maid service and best of all: a PRIVATE BATHROOM! Sure there are better hotels (as in "more expensive"). Sure there are...

Well located in an old building at the corner of 5 de mayo and Palma in the Centro Historico, with a tiny elevator that holds only three and may have been installed a century ago. The rooms are clean and adequate and the staff is pleasant. In the same block as Restaurante El Popular, part of which is open 24...

We found the hotel while wandering around the historic centre of Mexico City. The room rate seemed reasonable for the very central location. The room itself was okay. The downside was that the staff on reception seem rather frosty. They would not allow us to leave our bags there for an hour after we checked out. Rather unhelpful.

This was the first hotel we have been to. It is cheaper than going to a hostel and you get towels, 2 bottles of water and a private room. It is a little noisy because it is in the main road but at least its just 2 blocks away from the main plaza.

This place was ok but I don't have anything to compare it to in Mexico City. Most of the staff was nice (minus one particular lady that's at the front desk in the afternoon) and I found that only the man on duty at night speaks English. Our reservation was messed up so we had to move twice in 5...

I've stayed at the Hotel Washington several times now. The location is outstanding, one block from the zocolo, across the street from the Juice Bar Canada, just a few feet from Cafe El Popular and La Blanca for late night eats. Clean, small rooms, tiny bathrooms but everything one needs. The towels and bedding have been recently upgraded, and the...

I stayed at the Washington Hotel in February and enjoyed my stay - it's a very clean, well serviced hotel and the room was $20. I think the location was excellent - right near the Zocola and many restaurants.
