We recently stayed at La Casita del Patio Verde for a long weekend in Mexico City. It is a truly beautiful B&B, and the innkeeper Jose Luis is an amazing host! We had an evening flight from Texas, so we didn't arrive at the hotel until after 10pm. But Jose Luis greeted us warmly when we arrived at the hotel,...

This is arguably the best place there is. Located in a quiet neighborhood, a walking distance away from the center of Coyoacan, La Casita is a small B&B which offers very comfortable rooms, amazing breakfasts, cozy shared areas and a beautiful courtyard drenched in sunshine. On top of which José Luis is the most affable host there is. Why go...

My husband had been staying at the Casita from September 2010 as he was working in Mexico at that time. He told me what a lovely place it was and said that I would love it. I arrived with our 2 boys, aged 6 and 9 and we fell in love with it. I would have moved in there in...

A real pearl in the middle of MexicoDF, with wonderful people! Delicous breakfast, a beautiful garden, only some footsteps away from Kahlo´s house, some little fine shops just around the corner and hummingbirds right in front of your nose (and your window) and also the best all around care in every aspect.. we had just made it our home for...

We wanted to visit Mexico City but had some concerns about safety and getting around a city this size. Then we found Jose and his Traveler's Plan. This is the best way to see all the sights while feeling completely safe and very pampered. The B & B is beautiful and the hosts Jose Luis and his mother Coppelia are...

We didn't know what to expect but Patio Verde exceeded anything we imagined. We had such a SPLENDID time. Jose Luis knew what to recommend, where to eat in the neighborhood & what to see. The breakfasts were fabulous. Each day represented a different area of Mexico. A note : Special suggestion to use La Cabania if there are several...

Jose and his mother run a gorgeous bed and breakfast in Coyoacan. In the Southern part of Mexico City, Coyoacan is safe and quiet and beautiful. If you are staying in Mexico City, this is an ideal location. Frida Kahlo fan? Her home, which is now a museum, La Casa Azul, is a short walk from La Casita. Jose is...

The attention in La Casita del Patio Verde is remarkable the staff is concerned about every detail in the service. Totally recommendable!!

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighbourhood Profile
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.

“They are three rooms! we chose the cheapest which is on the second floor, it has a speerate bathroom but we were not annoyed at all. the best is the one on the first floor- directly at the garden and more spacious with a bathroom. but in the second floor this is a "common room" very cute and calm and you can share with the second room on the same floor.”
