We stayed 4 nights in Mexico City and returning back to this hotel was very relaxing. It was spread out over different buildings and linked by pleasant courtyards. There was a good choice of breakfast and it was interesting meeting different people over breakfast. There were 2 large communal tables to eat at.It looks as if at one time it...

Stayed here on the start of my Mexico trip and enjoyed the location and the friendly staff. The hotel itself is situated on a very busy street and a few of the nights the traffic noise (and the honking horns) woke me up . The hotel is a converted house with beautiful gardens and nice Mexican decorations (two thumbs up...

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I am sorry you had noise and that you found the rooms shabby. You reserved our least expensive room (under $40.00 USD plus tax per night for a double room). I recommend you reserve our rooms that are not facing the street. The price difference is not much and the...

Casa Gonzalez was a great choice as a base to explore the teeming bustling Mexico City with its endless offerings and most impoetantly as a solo female traveller i felt very safe at all times. The main doors are always locked and a key provided. I chose the budget room which was basic but very clean and comfortable and sufficed...

Due to a delay in getting our luggage, we unexpectedly ended up looking for a place to stay in Mex City, close to restaurants and a bit of nightlife. This hotel was beautiful, great food and very friendly staff, we will be going back :)

The place is nice, it has a familiar cozyness. Placement is convenient. Wifi and tv remote didn't work well though. On the first one the concierge told me that my mac was the problem! On the remote, that the previous guest had damages it, and he offered me an expresso as consolation!

Casa Gonzalez is an oasis of calm with friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms and beautiful gardens. The meals are simple but great. Everything is good value. They try to be environmentally friendly. I will definitely go back. The location is great. I walked to Condessa, Roma, historic City Centre, Forest and around the neighbourhood. Really enjoyed my time there. Lovely place,...

We were a little worried when we pulled up to a blank wall but upon entering this hotel is perfect. Extremely clean, super helpful staff, and just beautiful. Fantastic breakfasts! This hotel is also very conveniently located, really close to Chapultepec Park and the Zocalo!

I spend hours trawling travel sites looking for the right hotel at the right price, often driving myself to distraction. This is the kind of hotel I always hope to find. It's in a great location, not a bland corporate hotel, has rooms with space, good home cooked food and helpful staff. I travelled with my husband and son, he's...

We only stayed for one night, but it was enough for us to see what a gem Casa Gonzales is. People at the reception desk are very kind, and helpful. The garden is very nice and it looks and well kept. If anything, our room had very little space (or no space at all) in the bathroom to put the...

The most important is that we want to make this your home away from home, at an accessible price.Casa Gonzalez is four old homes surrounded by courtyards and gardens of different eras that have been adapted to make a home for travelers. The two original homes were built by the current owners grandfather in the mid 1920's.One of the houses belonged to a famous movie star, Lupe Velez (who married Johnny Weissmuller for a few years). The latest addition was built in the early 1940's by a relatively well know architect, Roberto Buenrostro, as his private residence. The guest house started operating in the early 30's by the grandmother and great grandmother of the current owners. ... more   less
