Casa Colonial was originally a house built in the old style with verandas around a verdant central garden. The ambiance is restful, gracious, and very "Oaxaca". The staff could not be nicer and greatly enhance the joy of staying at the Casa. There is Oaxacan folk art everywhere in the gardens and rooms. Rooms are charming, but not fancy and...

Cannot say enough wonderful things about the casa. Not the fanciest place in the world but definitely soulful and colorful. Plus a library and gardens. Old world and gracious best describe this hotel. Staff is charming beyond. About a 15 minute walk to the zocalo. Close to grocery, coffeeshop and banks. I have stayed here four or five times and...

Love the colonial home in Oaxaca. The gardens and patios are beautiful, the rooms spacious and the food for breakfast is plentiful and delicious! Hot chocolate every morning along with fresh fruit and the true flavors of Oaxaca in the sauces used with eggs and enfrijoladas. The staff is helpful and caring. Cannot think of a nicer place to stay...

Lucky for us to have discovered the one of a kind Casa Colonial over twenty years ago. We have been returning ever since. This year we were there for the month of December at the Casa's Obracadobra Residency. It only got better. The accommodations, a private annex, is a series of huge rooms, a great sun filled studio, master bedroom...

Gorgeous little oasis of calm & tranquility about 20 minutes walk from the zocalo. The staff have all worked here for years & are so kind, friendly & helpful. Lovely rooms, great little touches like back pillows for reading in bed. I was given an extra blanket, because it was cold the week I was there! Great breakfast freshly made...

The moment we pulled up in front of the purple door, I couldn't wait to begin our adventure! What awaited inside was an oasis amidst a City & STATE yearning to be explored. Casa Colonial is not a hotel. It is not just a place to lay your head after a flavor filled day...the Casa is the perfect blend of...

There is not a lot of light in many of them, which keeps them cooler, and has the added benefit of getting you outside- but you will want to use the fans to avoid feeling stuffy. The courtyard is a riot...
