One block north of the zocalo. Cheap, although they kept bumping up the prices on us because it got closer to New Years Eve. Nice beds. THe woman who ran it was always irritated with us because we're not fluent Spanish speakers. Gimme a break. Beautiful balconey overlooking the streets, watch the parades!

I can't say how much me and my friend did not like this hostal. We booked it because everything was booked up for day of the dead, and it was cheap. But we both really wished we hadn't and had to leave after one night. We were in the dorm room, but the private room next to us didn't have...

Found this Hostel referenced in the Lonely Planet and chose it because of its location close to the Zocalo and the relatively low rates. When we arrived we were offered to stay in a special suite that they have for $800 pesos a night (including breakfast) rather than bunks in a shared hostel room. Being that it was our 2nd...

“The suite we stayed at is very different from the bunk bed rooms that the students and budget travelers stay in. You can book this room ahead of time through the internet. Carlos, the night manager is a classy, accommodating guy who speaks impeccable English. If you don't like street noise. don't stay here, but we loved the view!”
  • The room itself is gorgeous with A.C. TV and private bath
  • Empty street view from room balcony in the a.m
  • Full street in the evening as people walk the street
  • A romantic get away to remember
