Excellent hotel with gorgeous gardens and beautifully decorated, lots of groovy artwork, ceramics etc. We stayed across the road from where reception is situated and it was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Nice central location for exploring the city.

We stayed for 5 days in this hotel and had a good experience. The best thing: -location.. You are just some steps from the main streets, market and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and I love the friendly staff. -good wifi and comfortable space/chair/desk for working :) The bad things: - no privacy, I could hear every conversation that was...

Front desk was professional and helpful.. Rooms were spacious and clean as were the bathrooms.. Would suggest getting a room around the courtyard as my friends did not have as good a WiFi connection in the corner as we did on the courtyard and they too preferred the courtyard...There is a beauty to this hotel due to the art and...

My wife and I went to Restaurant Los Magueyes in Casa Mexicana twice, a Sunday afternoon buffet and Cena Navidad buffet. We find the food there to be excellent. All items are expertly prepared and tasty. The setting is comfortable and the staff are responsive.

Nice colonial hotel in central location ideal for walking around the town. Many local restaurants. Good size rooms overlooking a central atrium. It has plenty of hot water and clean towels. Good breakfast and free wifi, albeit slow. The only negative was people checking out early wheeling their bags over the tiled floor.

July 4-5, 2015. Maybe it's different traveling with locals from Chiapas? We walked up, asked for two rooms and were greeted with friendliness and smiles. Lovely clean hotel and really nice city. Weather was perfect. FYI...Weather.com is clueless on the forecasts. Simply clueless. Real time updates said it was raining but was clear and quite comfortable.

After reading several reviews on trip advisor, booking dot com and checking the website of the hotel, my gf decided Hotel Casa Mexicana offered a pretty good deal for its price, thus she decided to book 3 nights. The experience was rather disappointing. I want to begin with the good before I elaborate on what's bad. The good: Location: The...

Casa Mexicana is an attractive looking hotel inside, but you should be aware that their are deficiencies. The wifi was pretty lousy with weak signal and intermittent service. The front desk did not give us the wake-up call that we requested. Also when you make your reservation be sure and do it in the local currency of Mexican pesos otherwise...

My family and I went to San Cristobal for New Years and we booked a room at this hotel. When we arrived they told us that they did not have a room for us because a guest wanted to spend one more night at the hotel. So, they decided to get us a room at another hotel "just 15 minutes...

Hotel Casa Mexicana is located in two colonial style buildings nearly opposite each other. In one building was the restaurant and some rooms and the opposite building consisted only of rooms around a garden patio, where was also our room. Our room was not near to the street and was on the level of the garden. It was very quiet...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Casa Mexicana is located in the beautiful mountainous and colonial city of San Cristóbal. It is centrally located within walking distance of many historical sites. We offer you all the amenities, comforts and personal services of a fine hotel, relax in the interior sky-lit garden, enjoying the original mexican art treasures assambled here. The guest rooms all open into the gardens or private courtyards. We built the Hotel Casa Mexicana with the idea of offering our guests a little bit more than just a hotel, our goal was to create a space filled with art, folk - art and the presence of nature, which would be very Mexican. We invited our artist friends, who had been to San Cristobal beforehand, to create artistic pieces which speak about it. And we searched in all Mexico for the very special and beautiful pieces of folk - art which we display here, too. We are very satisfied with what we have realized so far and everyday we put out all our energy to still become better and have you feel relaxed here and enjoying the hotel. ... more   less
