The hotel is very quaint and in a fabulous location close to the zocalo. The rooms were a bit small but very clean. There was a safe too. Wifi was ok and available in public areas. The restaurant has good food and breakfast derive was also good. There is some off street parking. The staff are very helpful.

Stayed at this hotel on our way back to Oaxaca from Palenque. A pleasant, cosy hotel with helpful staff and a lovely light, airy, central quadrangle (not sure if this is the right word?) full of plants, comfortable seats etc. Realised when here that dark rooms are the norm in hotels with this sort of layout, because their windows look... I was in and out of San Cristobal over the period of a couple weeks, staying in adequate but austere posadas. On my last night, I decided to treat myself and get myself a room with a bit of swank AND its own bathroom. The Hotel Posada Paraiso completely charmed me. Stylish rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. An excellent attached... More

We are two mid 70's friends of 50+ years. Have traveled with and without family many many times. This small hotel is marvelous. Simple, elegant, rooms with 1st class linens, glassware etc. Wonderful patio full of many different flowers and birds. Comfortable indoor lounge with plenty of room and a views of sculptures, patio indoor plants. Staff was always ready... More

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean (and cleaned daily), the staff were friendly and accomodating. The room had a safe, which we valued. The food is great, either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You're a short 2 minute walk from the heart of the town. The whole place was beautiful with a small patio garden... More

El Paraiso is definitely a little "paraiso" very close to San Cristobal main square. The rooms feel very comfortable and clean although a bit small and cramped. There are heaters in winter time, bottled water and clean towels provided with room service. There are safe boxes for valuables in each room. Continental breakfast is also included. The shower took over... More

The hotel itself is very nice, the nicest in town that we discovered when checking out others. The rooms surround a large lobby area with covered and uncovered space. In SC having covered space is paramount when it rains, we spent a lot of time in there waiting for rain to clear. The location is perfect, only a half block... More

I stayed there 2 nights looking for a clean and nice place around 500mex. A real good surprise. Extremely clean, towels changed every day, bed well prepared, bathrooms renewed recently with style. This place is must although this is right that several rooms may not have a window, except the door itself giving access to the patio (little dark). So... More

We stayed here for 6 nights, including the New Year's Day holiday. We arranged the trip with only about 5 weeks to spare and were happy to find a place that could accommodate us. The location has its good and bad points: being close to the plazas at the centre of town brings convenience, but it also brings (at least... More

Beautiful hotel just a few steps away from the Zocalo. Rooms spotlessly clean and neither too small nor too dark or loud. Staff was very attentive and helpful. All in all I had a VERY pleasant stay there! Would go back any time!

“As with most places in San Cristobal, there are very few few roads, but they are always busy day and night. If you have trouble sleeping, ask for one that doesn't back onto the 5th de Mayo and you'll be fine.”
