I stayed here for one night because i was rendesvousing with a couple who had done their research and booked a reservation here. This is a beautiful little hostel within a ten minute walk to the Iglesia de Santo Domingo and the center of San Cristobal. It's the most posh hostel and also one of the cheapest I've ever stayed...

I can't even begin to describe how great this place is. Their breakfast is amazing (artisan bread and homemade jam anyone?), nice kitchen, a computer to use, nice garden area and very nice rooms. What stood out though was the staff - from Asuncion on reception who is the most helpful guy ever, to the cleaners who helped make me...

Sweet, homey and extremely comfortable posada, breakfast is included and is close to downtown. We love staying there every time we pass by San Cristobal as it is beautiful, quiet and very lovingly maintained, we are not exactly the party-travelers so this is exactly the type of place we are looking for. Can't think of a better choice and would...

This is the ideal hostel; suitable for all, accommodating all. The hostel boasts a mix of dorms and private rooms, pretty outside spaces, a snug lounge with fireplace and a well equipped kitchen. It offers a great breakfast of fresh fruit, bread, cereal, and eggs, and beer and wine are available to buy. It's clean, well maintained and represents outstanding...

This hostel is a little gem: services, people, comfort, environment. My favorite was the breakfast: fresh baked bread, fruits, eggs, granola, home made jam. The kitchen was organized, clean and welcoming. We cooked our own dinner for the first time in a long time and we felt like home. If I have to say that something isn't great I would...

This is one of the most comfortable & accommodating places I've stayed -- the staff are super friendly & helpful, the "living room" with fireplace is great on a chilly mountain evening, the courtyards are beautiful, bathrooms gorgeous, kitchen welcoming (not to mention clean & well organized), breakfasts delicious, beds comfortable...I am sure I'm forgetting some of the great features!...

I accidently stumbled across this hostel and, man, I lucked out. It's a hostel; I think many people who don't backpack regularly have a hard time understanding that. This was great. The hostel was located in a very convenient place, near the Zocalo, restaurants, laundry etc., it was very clean, rooms were carefully made up with extra blankets and lockers...

Sparkling clean, all the fixin's. Like an interior design magazine in looks, there's a little room that has a towering stack of books, big fireplace you can use anytime and chess. Modest little garden where the sun hits all day long. Beautifully mosaic bathrooms, well stocked huge kitchen (with stove, toaster, toaster oven, real oven and so on.) Delicious organic...

We booked a private room with double bed and private bathroom- the room was spacious and clean. Posada del Abuelito is in a good location, walking distance to everything in San Cristobal. The help yourself breakfasts were perfect and we really enjoyed our stay here. Fairly well priced as well.
