Friendly people but no one speaks English. Good buffet break fast. The showers were dangerous because the water from the shower would come into the room and make them slippery. And I felled hard on the floor hard because it's there is nothing to prevent the water from coming out of the bathroom.

Once again, as in So many places in Mexico, false advertising. I am really shocked by the false advertising in Mexico since i have now travelled to 70 countries and never had a bad experience until I set foot in Mexico. I saw a huge sign for this hotel upon arrival at the Veracruz bus terminal advertising simple rooms for $280 pesos. I walked to the hotel and was told "we only have $400 peso rooms." I told the woman I saw a sign stating their simple rooms were priced at 280 as the huge billboard at the bus terminal showed. She said she had no more simple rooms and yet I was given a simple room for $350. I refused to pay 400 and she came down to 350. I saw the simple room of my friend, a local I met staying there, we had coffee across the street together; it was like mine with a better view. His bus was right behind mine. He entered after me and paid the standard $280 as advertised at the bus station. The hotel is located right by an OXXO. Francisco showed me his room; it was the same size as mine though he had a view and paid 280. They gave me a view of a wall I saw nothing but an ugly grey wall when I opened the window and they were far from full, this is not tourist season. The only good thing was they had a working remote which changed the dubbed in Spanish movies back to English. If you are a local I recommend staying here because for 280 my friend got the same room I did and I paid 350. I would not stay again. The staff was unfriendly except for a lovely older man with snow white hair in the morning, he was not a receptionist unfortunately, they were rude. He was a porter and humble and so kind and welcoming. I am happy to be out of Mexico and in a better place in gorgeous Lago Atitlan Guatemala it is so beautiful and clean and the people are so humble and honest I have visited 8 times as a result.
The location of Impalal was great for me as I simply wanted to board my bus in the morning and it is two blocks form A.D.O.the bus which took me straight to Guatemala! :)
