We had an excellent stay at this newly renovated hotel. The hotel is exceptional, everything is brand new and the decor is stunning. Rooms are well equipped, with an incredible sea view. The hotel and grounds are cleaned to a very high standard, with busy areas being cleaned constantly. The food and drink at this hotel was excellent, the buffet was of a very high quality and so many options, choices for even the fussiest of eaters. We enjoyed all of the restaurants, with the Kulinanarium and Asian restaurants being our favourites. The cocktails, wine & soft drinks were also very good. We enjoyed all of the RIU Parties, lots of fun & super convenient as they are only next door! The beach is superb, very peaceful. Workers work hard to clear the seaweed every morning which makes a difference. The only thing for us was the drinks service on the beach didn’t really happen, we saw it one day and not again after that - we stayed one week after opening so perhaps something that they were getting to grips with. The drinks service by the pool was excellent! The pools are stunning, with incredible views over the beach. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and the service was excellent! The hotel was fabulous. All staff very courteous, welcoming and smart in appearance. The hotel room was very spacious and well equipped with a free mini bar, iron, ironing board, free safe, TV and plenty of plug and USB ports . The fridge was restocked with water and soft drinks every other day. All of the bars were well manned and we didn’t have to wait long for service. The pool bar was fab! Very busy. So close to the sea within 50 metres I’d say. There is a bureau de change and they will change any currency but we only had to change large notes to smaller ones. There were plenty of daily activities but we chose to watch rather than participate. Internal spa offers all manner of services but they are a tad expensive. PayPal is preferred but they do take cash and card aswell. Be prepared to tip! For a group of six we were tipping either $5 or 70-80 pesos each time we were altogether at any of the bars or the restaurants. The main restaurant was exceptional. Out of the other restaurants we only tried the Chinese restaurant, and this was only once as we didn’t really like the food. Nothing wrong with it but just our taste. If you go off site go in a group and take off any jewellery. And if you plan to visit anywhere make sure it’s a planned excursion. On our last day we had to leave the room at 12noon but we’re given full use of the facilities until we left. If we ever travel to Cancun again we will be staying here! Highly recommended.…

This place is absolutely beautiful! I believe it was recently refurbished and it shows, everything is immaculate. The staff are amazing and so helpful and the bars and restaurants have enough choice to cater for anyone’s needs! We got a taxi from the airport rather than the free Tui shuttle as read it would take almost an hour and it was the best decision. It was 30minutes in a taxi and about £30 but saved so much time!

We just got back from Riu Caribe a few days ago after staying 7 nights. This is my 20th plus times staying at this Riu. It has recently been completely remodeled and it is SPECTACULAR! The updates are modern and clean. It looks like a high end resort and nothing like it used to. The food is so much better as well. We had lobster two nights, grouper, salmon, etc. The food couldn't have been better. There are so many options and you never have to worry about what you will eat. The staff work tirelessly to keep the resort clean and the visitors happy. We were welcomed immediately by Jeremiah the minute our van pulled up. He has been there 20 years and was proud to show off the new hotel. He checked on us daily to make sure we were happy with everything. We were excited to see our twins again, Elda & Celia in the main restaurant. They catered to us everyday for breakfast and for lunch. They work so hard and their service made our stay even better. Israel at the pool bar kept our drinks flowing and always has a smile on his face. We take an annual moms trip every year around Labor Day and it's always Riu Caribe! That won't ever change! If I had to make one suggestion, it is that we miss having the huts on the beach for shade. The palm trees are beautiful too but the huts were a big help.…

Silvano from the steak house was amazing …but the overall service here was great…hotel was very clean..staff was very helpful….only down side was we never got to enjoy the party section because apparently it wasn’t open yet but when we initially booked it said it was available but wasn’t when we got there….

Going in we knew this was a recently renovated hotel and were expecting perhaps some issues. We started off with one where we were given a room with a king bed and a small loveseat sofa that didn't pull out into a bed. So there was quite a bit of back and forth until it was finally straightened out. We had the fire alarm go off around 10:30pm or so, which scared us a bit, but my wife called to the desk and they said it was being worked on and not to be alarmed. They installed soft closing doors which is brilliant, because alot of the hotels have the doors that just slam shut all night long. The hallway noise was very apparent however, and it would be nice if somehow they could soften the hallway noise from reverberating so much. Part of the early issues. This was our second stay at a Riu and we do our fair share of travel in Cancun, and it seems that Riu just knows how to do food, especially their buffets, and this one was terrific. Food was abundant, chairs were comfy, and our server would leave a small coffee pot at the table at breakfast which was a nice thing that we don't usually get and then you're waiting for coffee. Special shoutout to Ulyses at the front desk, Edwardo and Joel in the buffet. These people stood out to us specifically as being helpful during our stay, thank you! They have "courtesy rooms" which I have asked for for years where when you arrive early and don't have your room yet, you can go and freshen up and change, what a PLUS! The resort has really been cleaned up nicely and everything appears fresh, they did a nice job. Towels were plentiful, and they use towel cards. Seating was plentiful, but we were there the second day after reopening, so they weren't at full capacity, but there appeared to be enough seating on the beach and around the pools. The pool changed from the pictures, they now have 3 pools instead of just the one winding pool. Oh yes another shoutout to Isabel from the entertainment team. She approached me at the pool and we had a very nice conversation about the resort. She was very pleasant, and a very personable young lady and Riu is lucky to have someone like her. The beach was nice. We had a couple days of weather so the ocean wasn't as clear and calm as we had hoped for, but that changed for the last 2 days where the wind and rain settled and the water was clear and calm, and hardly any sargassum, and just a bit of sea grass, but not bad at all.
