We stayed at the JW Marriott for the second time this January. The hotel was once again great. The staff was friendly and helpful and we had top notch service the whole trip - especially from the pool bar staff at the adult pool. We stayed in a Club 91 room. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it. All our meals were included. You get bloodys and mimosas as breakfast, beer at lunch, and a full open bar from dinner until 10. We can’t wait to get back for a third time.
We recently needed a getaway from the cold of winter, and this property did not disappoint. Sedona Grill was great for breakfast and dinner, while the Beachwalk provided great lunches. A great added bonus is that there are shared benefits at the Marriott right next door.
I'm an elite member and stay always between Marriott and hilton . This hotel is in a good location, the beach is beautiful, the pools . There is nothing for elite members. The breakfast is continental and if you want the regular one you have to pay 14 dollars in top ( in Mexico!!). there was no upgrade or any other extra for being a loyal customer as the other reviews they say is because they are a " resort " . They also charge a daily resort fee that includes 2 coffees and 2 scoop of ice cream.. Valet parking is included. for that money i will stay in other property...
Went to JW at the end of December and first of January. We really liked the JW and had a great trip. Service was great and we really didn't have any issues at all. I thought the food was good but we didn't eat at all of the restaurants. It was just the two of us so we spent most of our time at the adult pool. Pool chairs were great and service at pool was good. Really wish the adult pool was infinity like the main pool but not that big of a deal. There was a DJ at the adult pool in the afternoons that we enjoyed. Our room was nice and the like other reviews the hotel was nicely renovated. Loved the rainhead shower. Our room had a great view and nice balcony. The breakfast restaurant was fine but we are not really breakfast people. We ate lunch at the pool almost everyday, food was good. The only restaurant we went to for dinner was the Thai restaurant at the Marriott next door. I thought it was good but nothing great. We had our best food out in Cancun. Went to Limoncello-OK, Freds-fine, RosaNegra-Awesome, Taboo-Awesome. Hotel is in a great spot to walk or take a short taxi ride to hotel. I will do separate reviews on restaurants. Covid protocols were fine and everyone wore masks just like they do in the US. I was surprised how full the pool area was with the hotel at 60% but it was just fine. Most of the very popular restaurants were very full. I will say it was nice to feel normal again as I haven't been to a packed restaurant in forever. I would have no issues telling anyone to visit Cancun, always felt very safe. All in all it was a great trip and the JW was great. Will go back.…
