We were here for a five night stay in mid-January 2022. The property is top notch, with beautifully appointed rooms - first class soft and hard goods. Great poolside drinks and service from Manuel and team - don’t miss the Pina Coladas! Also friendly and warm service from Jimenea in the JW Lobby Bar. Only criticism is that the menus across the board at the JW and the attached Marriott seemed to be aspirationally unique and a little too adventurous for their own good - would be better to offer some less adventurous selections for the reserved eaters in the group; wasn’t a problem for us, exactly, but heard the same from other guests. Avoid the Italian restaurant at all costs - horrible food, especially the lasagna, which no one at our table finished. This was also shared by other guests. Points off for the Fox News being played in the lobby 24/7 - not surprising there were quite a few MAGA hats around - the hotel is certainly Americanized and not particularly Mexican, in case you are looking for a property that feels more international.

Me and my boyfriend decided to stay in non all inclusive hotel for the first time. Needless to say we probably never staying in non all inclusive hotel in Cancun ever again. 1. Check in. It was bad cold welcome by lady name Mariana told to put mask on and never explained anything. She did hand out a paper and told to read about all the benefits and perks, then we were sent up to our room. We are gold members just like someone sad means nothing there. 2. Upon arrival our room was missing shower gel. Called waited for the gel 45! minutes...that's where we got angry and requested Manager to call us. That night we never even got turn down service, called again for a manager. 3. We waited for manager Miguel to call us for over 24 hours. Started calling him, finally got through and he told us the reason he never called us is because he did not want to bother us???!!! What! He apologized and said he will sent us an amenity that never showed up for another 24 hours until we called AGAIN and asked. What a joke. 4. Very inconsistent housekeeping. It is mediocre at best. I kept finding bottles and garbage laying around after they "cleaned" our room. One night I had a cup of tea and left empty cup beside my night table, upon return to the room it was still there in a paper cup with tea bag in it after they "cleaned". Garbage on the balcony never cleaned once flying around. They would never dump melted ice in the bucket and empty bottle (flipped upside down) would still be in the bucket for days until I would get fed up and do it myself. Literally they would pick up towels, throw garbage that we placed in the bin and do the bed. That's it. Also they took our robes and never replaced them or anything just took them away??!!! 5. Almost no entertainment. They had music in the lounge every night (that we were figured out ourselves thank you Mariana for informative check in). Nothing else not even music by the pool absolutely nothing. 6. Food. We ate on the beach and it was decent. We tried eating at their restaurants and we just were not into the menu at all. It was was weird and not appetizing just ended up walking out and grabbing a snack at the lounge. 7. Pool. They have a large pool and it spreads wide. It is family pool. It is fine. There is an adult only area with a small pool and a bar. Again we only figured that our day 2 or 3 as (hello Mariana) on our check in never told any of that. Overall we tried to be positive and laugh from our experience we called this place "you do it" kind of service. I felt that I was staying in 3 star hotel. If you never in the room and just wonder off the resort then maybe it is okay but for a luxury experience this hotel is just never ever going to make it for you. Service and attitude is literally YOU DO IT. I can continue on and on as we had a lot of examples of that behaviour from various employees. One positive thing is club lounge. Guys that worked there and male cook were awesome. Keep up the good work guys! They literally made our stay. But lounge on it own looks like cantina and its is not comfortable or welcoming and food is nothing amazing just something to eat and fill up your stomach. We felt trapped in this place as book for entire stay and no way to back out. If you like to check it our book for a few days. This is my advice.

The JW Marriott was an incredible experience. From the cleanliness of the rooms, public spaces and the incredible staff. All of what you'd expect from a 5star establishment. Jorge, and his team at the pool bar were phenomenal. Consistent in delivering great drinks while providing exceptional service. His margaritas are the best and I'd highly recommend you to stop by and have Jorge make you of how many concoctions with love. I personally enjoyed the skinny margaritas with Don Julio 70. Top notch. Will definitely return for my next Cancun visit. Mr Harrell

Beautiful resort, amazing staff! The staff at Sedona Grill and Beachwalk are outstanding but the front desk needs NEW management. We have been coming here twice a year since this resort opened in 2001. Hidalgo, Manuela, Gilberto at the pool Beachwalk are outstanding! At Sedona Grill Pedro, Sergio, Angel, and Victor are some of the best servers that I have ever had. The property is absolutely beautiful but the front desk management has to change. Miguel Flores (GM) does not even acknowledge people that are frequent visitors to the property and does nothing to try to accommodate them. I was here with my mom (lifetime Titanium), my sister (also Titanium status and just became lifetime Gold) and I am also Titanium. We were put into a room that was not what we paid for, and never offered the amenities that come with the resort fee. We were asked if we wanted the Tatanium amenity (wine, cheese & crackers) and they never sent it to the room. It is Marriotts policy that when they fail to do this you get a $200 credit. Every area of the staff from the Bellman (Christopher & Javier are amazing) to the Housekeeping crew go above and beyond. The front desk really needs to be addressed. I highly recommend this resort, especially for families, but the front desk is a problem.

Everything there is just about perfect. Food, ambiance, and best of all beautiful views. totally worth the extra money to upgrade to a suite. The food and drinks eat the pool palapa are excellent, as is the service. One of the servers even remembered our name! So kind and attentive. The pool is very pretty. We want to go back next year. Just a great experience.
