We were slightly disappointed with this hotel. The gardens are lovely and the building is nice, but the rooms were a little small for the price and the staff were not particularly welcoming. For these reasons alone we were not particularly impressed by the hotel. I also have another personal grievance which is not likely to be repeated for other...

The gardens are so beautiful you have to pinch yourself in case you were dreaming. Staff were sweet. Food was great. And you can walk into Chichen itza's back gate and avoid all the selling booths and crowds at the main gate.

This place is a great place to relax. I am a earth friendly type of girl and love seeing beautiful flowers and listening to birds chirp over a nice breakfast which I found all available here. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable. All the staff was very friendly. The spa was one of the highlights of...

Booking a room at the Hacienda Chichen was a last minute decision; facing that long, radio-less drive on the 180 Cuorto from Merida to Cancun was just too painful to bear in one shot. We had been to Chichen Itza several times before, but we were hoping for a mindless, spa-ful couple of days after two weeks of bouncing around...

I think I have said it in the subject line. The location is excellent, very near to the entrance to the ruins. The grounds a very nice, but the rooms are absolutely below standard for this price. The furniture is worn, the bathrooms are old (my toilet did not flush properly) and there is a moist, almost fungal smell lingering....

Imagine driving over hundreds of topes on narrow roads and being passed by huge tour buses, and then to come upon the very essence of Mayan tranquility. Hacienda Chichen's ground and rooms are stunning and a mere five minutes from the legendary Mayan City. Fabulous food, gorgeous flower-filled rooms, Exceptional staff especially Diane and Jiliberto.

We had one night here to visit the ruins en route between Tulum and Merida. It was a wonderfully chilled hotel and I would definitely recommend if you just want to spend some calm time, amongst nature, perhaps reading or writing (or bird watching, which I believe is quite big there...). We chose it for proximity to Chichen Itza site...

Hacienda Chichen is probably the upmarket place to stay in Chichen Itza. It is situated in lovely mature gardens which contain the accommodation cottages. The cottages are spacious, attractively furnished and share a verandah with the adjoining cottage. The restaurant is in the main Hacienda building. We had dinner there on three evenings and found the menus and food good...
