Good value, nice location, dated improvements. I'll itemize things down below, based on prior comments I've read, and what we experienced. We stayed in a 1-bedroom King Suite ocean view. 1. As almost everyone else reports, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Remember that you're on vacation, most of us from a different country. Things are not exactly like where you've come from. If you're polite in your requests, you'll get polite responses. 2. Damaged pool tiles have been repaired, pool is in great shape and re-opened Jan 30. The building is dated and in need of exterior paint, but again, it's still a great value. 3. Restaurant is open until 4pm, outdoor bar until 5:30-6pm depending on how many people are outside. We actually liked not having a loud outdoor bar open til late, It's much nicer chillin on your balcony with the ocean sounds. There are so many good places to eat around town, grab a taxi or a scooter and check them out. 4. We watched some good Youtube videos before we went that reviewed restaurants around town. That helped out big time. I highly recommend Casa Mission, and Diego's Tacos. Others that were very good are Casa Cuzimil (sports bar with great food), La Mission, and a little place called Acapulco City that is located within the Gastropark on 15A Avenida Sur. Ones we missed were Mr Taco and El Billy BBQ on Ave 65. 5. If you have more than one A/C unit in your room/suite and there's only one remote, it works for both. Hold it near the unit, it will control it. Saw a previous review where they had air blowing on them all night in bed. That happened to us the first night, but tried the remote from the kitchen on a whim, it worked. 6. I had no billing issues. You're in Mexico, they report Pesos, there are a ton of conversion apps. All your receipts are in Pesos and the signed originals are given to you at check-out. They billed me for what I signed for. 7. Resort fee of $13/day is collected at check-in. It covers the cost of fresh pool towels, and daily maintenance around the pool, deck, and resort. Everything is kept up nicely. 8. Half of the guests are timeshare owners who have been coming there for 20-30 years. Many know each other and have been friends for years. Make friends with one or two and you'll have 15 or 20 new friends. 9. Very few children, it's more of an older crowd 40 and up. 10. Bottled water in room is not free. We left a small tip for housekeeping everyday and had a bottle in kitchen, one in bathroom, and coffee and filters everyday. You should tip housekeeping anyway, this way you'll get water also. 11. If you have a room without a kitchen, it is most likely on the jungle side, non ocean view. You'll want coffee from the restaurant, the coffee maker is small, and there's little sugar and dry creamer. If you have a kitchen, go shopping at Mega or one of the other super markets and stock your food. Mega has everything, literally. 12. Hot water on the higher floors takes forever to reach you. Be patient, it will come. lol. Turn it on and do something else for a few minutes until it's hot. 13. We asked the check-in person if she could find us a scooter. She called someone up and got a scooter for about $28 for 24 hours. Cheaper than most around town and they brought it to us and picked it up. We drove the perimeter road around the island. Stopped at Rasta Bar and Coconuts. Totally worth the trip. 14. Pack ponchos, they take up little room and you may need them. We did. 15. Gym looked clean, saw someone working out one day. Old equipment. I'm on vacation, did not workout. 16. Pepe Scuba onsite is very convenient. They also sell hats and shirts. 17. Additional gift shop on lower level, prices are so so. 18. We stayed away from the port area, it's by far the most expensive, but you have to get the Marquesitas and churros there. Bottom line, it's not the nicest building, but the location and staff are great. Very good value. Remember that you're on vacation, take it slow, be nice, have a good time. …
