Playa Azul Cozumel is an oceanfront, small, charming and family run hotel distinguished by its personal service from the staff and owners. A truly home-away-from-home resort for those who prefer to be close to the ocean but not far from their room. For those who like to enjoy a wonderful gastronomic experience and friendly atmosphere. Playa Azul is a Breakfast hotel but if you prefer the All Inclusive vacation our resort offers the best menu (a la carte) both for food and beverages.
Came here to spend the afternoon, the food was amazing, everything so fresh! We loved the crystal clear blue water, and the pier they has tou could dive off and grab sea shells. Sitting under a cabana like area this was the perfect place to end out day. With beer food and a gorgeous view

This great boutique hotel with all ocean view rooms continues to meet all expectations. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is included daily and is delicious. The grounds, pool and beach are beautiful. As always the staff at Playa Azul, most of whom have been there for years, continue to be professional, kind, caring and dear friends. We look forward to returning soon.

I almost don't want to review them because I don't want to share! lol! But I must! My husband and I, though legally married for 13 years, never had an actual ceremony. We decided to go for it and started looking for places in Cozumel. After tons and tons of research we decided on Playa Azul. We could not have picked a better place! We had a small group of family and friends join us from the age of 9-70. Everyone enjoyed their stay immensely. The place is small and has a family feel to it. The staff was so kind and accommodating. And bonus - no time share sales to deal with! The location could not have been better - they have a lovely beach front with several coves that dip into the most amazing blue waters. The tide there is super gentle and the snorkeling was amazing!…

We have been coming there for 7 maybe 8 years, we always upgrade to a suite for $40 more per night when we get there. We have never stayed in a regular room. We got there, and the front desk guy told us it would cost $125/ night to upgrade to our usual suite. He also told our friends it would cost them $100/nite to upgrade to a jacuzzi suite...we all end up in basic rooms (which aren't bad, just not what we expected...) They go back to the front desk the next morning, and the guy says they can move to the jacuzzi suite for $45/night.....so why couldn't they have gotten that room at check in? Why force them to MOVE later? So I went to the front desk that morning......we had no suite choices of any kind, altho the hotel looked pretty empty.......There SHOULD NOT have been…

Stayed here with a group of friends - and my 5 year old. Service was exceptional and really made this place. We will definitely be back. Rooms are great, food was good and cocktails amazing. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Cozumel.

I've been visiting this place for years. But this year I went somewhere else and I went there and asked if we could just snorkel hang on the beach and eat and have drinks at the bar there were seven of us but the man at the desk said no. We were pretty upset because we have been loyal patrons for years so I think we are NEVER coning back here again Man at the desk was notso some llike he used to be. And by the way our group spent $500 next-door.

Everyone there went above and beyond to meet our needs. Very laid back, peaceful setting. We did the all inclusive and it was fabulous. The food was so good. Really liked the Cajun Chicken Burger. Huge portions too. The shower was huge and clean. Comfy king sized bed. TV was tiny but we didn't even watch it. Really felt like being in paradise. Can't wait to go back. Pool is very pretty but with the ocean literally steps away, we didn't even get in it. Our evening were spent lounging in the beach chairs with drinks watching dolphins play, paradise! One tiny thing is we were not aware of the sand fleas until we were all bit up. Word of caution, get bug spray!!

This place is a bit old and could need an update. However it's clean, the beac, the water and the pool and surroundings are beautiful and the personnel are very nice and helpful. The water is beautiful and very clear. Not much to see though if you are used to go snorkelling in the Caribbean. All over a very nice place where we could stay again but the following would improve our stay a lot: 1) $50 fine if you loose a pool towel or the key to safety box. I hate when hotels threaten their guests/customers. This never happens on 4 or 5 star hotels. All towels are alike so easy that somebody take it by mistake. 2) Both on balcony and in restaurant white plastic furniture are used. I noticed that some of the rooms had nicer furniture which give you a whole other experience. I…

Staff were truly incredible. They were extremely helpful and attentive. Lots of smiles and authentic greetings. The rooms were middle of the road but we knew this going in having read other reviews. As many other reviewers mentioned, the rooms are bit dated but very, very clean. Housekeeping staff does a great job every day. The hotel itself sits on a small, man-made sand beach which is not crowded and there are plenty of shaded spots to relax. Beach bar is no more than 50 feet or so away from any spot you'll sit. The restaurant is immediately behind the beach, again just a few feet away. Servers are happy to bring your food to your beach chair. Prices are affordable, particularly if you are American and able to enjoy the benefits of a strong dollar (as of this…

we have been staying at playa several time for 3 to 4 weeks at the time for several years the staff was very friendly and helpful we made several life time friends from the staff I would not say the same for the management one time we made a long term reservation for 5 weeks when we got to the hotel the manager advise us that he could not honor the room we reserved because he had a V I P reservation for this suite at a higher price than what we were contracted to pay of course we left the hotel and never came back and where very fortunate to find a great place for less the same day
