This review is only for the beach club of Poc-NA. I haven't stayed overnight at the Hostel but walked through the place and seems pretty safe and comfortable. The beach club is hands down the BEST place for a night life on the beautiful island of Isla Mujeres! its very clean, to walk bare foot and the bartenders are amazing....

Be aware that Pocna is a party hostel (beach party on their private beach every night). That said, the big dorms are extremely cheap, other rooms are a steal at 10$/night as well. The complimentary breakfast quite ok and there are tons of free activities offered/organised (yoga, beach volleyball, Spanish classes, workout routine, live music, magic shows was all today...

Its the cheapest stay in the island. They have campsite where you can pitch your tent (at the time of our stay it was packed with big tents for the staff but we had booked in advance), dorms and private rooms. You also get free breakfast (4 toasts of bread, one fruit, one boiled egg, as much as jam and...

Great fun hostel. Lots going on - volleyball, yoga, magic shows, live music and DJ every night. Good place to meet people and party. The grounds are also good for hanging out - we loved the hammocks on the sand in amongst the palm trees. You should be aware it is noisey at night. It's also worth having a look...

This place is great if you are looking for a party on a budget. It's not great if you want a nice quiet vacation. The rooms are very basic, but it has great spaces for hanging out and is a good social atmosphere. The bar in the back is loud every night, but one of the best on the island....

I stayed in a dorm room in 2010 and this time got a private room with my boyfriend. This hostel is a very big hostel, great location, with a beach bar (beach party at night), great price, you can't bring in alcohol as they have their own bar and kitchen which is not to be used by guests but the...

As far as I'm aware, Pocna is the only hostel on the island and for 195 pesos (£7.50) it offers quite good value for money. The hostel is in a good location, 2 blocks from the main street (Hidalgo street). The hostel can be reached from the port by turning left out of the port, walking up to Matamoros street...

Laid back, good value, great vibes. Poc-na is one of the cheaper places to stay if you're on a budget. The air-con rooms aren't much more expensive than fan rooms - and keep it a LOT colder. Can get a bit noisy with beach parties til 3am - but most of the accommodation is on the other side away from...

We camped here for a night. The hostel was great- awesome location right on the beach, lots of activities, free basic breakfast, entertainment. The music did play all through the night though so be prepared for that, but otherwise, really great stay- thanks Poc Na!

Really nice hostel with good vibe, alot of people to get to know, comfy beds(dorms), live music antil 11pm and then the party moving to the beach, which is really nice if you want to sleep early. Breakfast is ok: 4 slices of bread, 1 fruit, 1 coocked egg, cafe and tea. The wifi is not good. Most of the...

Mexicos oldest hostel that still ranks among the countries best. Built in the 1950s it is located on Isla Mujeres, a small Caribbean (7km long) island and is 20min from Cancun by boat. This hostel boasts a restaurant and bar that is open until 11pm, after which the real fun begins at the beach bar until 2.45am. Pocna has access to beach volleyball, games room, movies on demand and bikes for rent. We are close to North Beach, which is Isla Mujeres most beautiful beach and Pocna itself is situated right on its own beach that is perfect for relaxing and taking the sun. This exciting hostel offers free activities such as Yoga everymorning, Spanish classes, juggling and what ever happens to be being taught by one of the many talented people that pass through. If you have the talent and the time of at least one month, you can teach an activity and have your cost of your stay covered.Winter time brings on private parties inside the hostel and also bonfire nights with live music and jamming after. Everynight in there is live music in Pocna and the year also brings many high profile bands to play within the walls of Pocna. Those to date include Los Authentico Decadentes, Los Aguas Aguas, No Te Va a Gustar and La Renga with many more in the future plans. An amazing fun and social hostel. On the backpackers trail and full of international guests. A must to come and visit in Mexico. ... more   less
