I would honestly recommend this hostel to anyone. The dorms are spacious and clean, the bathrooms are well kept and the facilities are all great. But what really makes this hostel special is the people you'll meet there. There's a real sense of community between the guests and the staff. You'll never be bored because of all the free activities...

One of the only hostels on the island I think. I had a nice few day stay with yoga in the mornings and fruit egg and toast breakfast. The downside was the rooms were quite small but they had two showers in and fans so also got quite hot. The staff were friendly we had to make our own beds...

Before we went to Isla Mujeres I sent an email to poc-na, if we can camp there. They replied within a day. We stayed for three nights in our own tent in a shady backyard of the hostel complex. I had a really great time here and there is nothing I disliked about it.

This is a really well designed hostel. It has all sorts of interesting spaces to be in and they'll even let you camp there. However, the people leave a lot to be desired there. The staff seem very unhappy and burned out. The guests are mostly sexy hipster 23 year olds. That's cool if that's your thing but it was...

Seriously this hostel made my trip. Volleyball, salsa and spanish classes, parties at night, Saturdays are awesome! Live band and people of all ages come, whether they're staying at the hostel or not. Steps from the beach, breakfast in the morning. Great to relax during the day in one of the million hammocks. Rooms are hot, but you're in Mexico..

The space is incredible. It's large, there are many interesting people, great ambiance, on-site bar and party every night, hammocks all over the place... but the rooms are pretty dingy. Still I recommend the place because of it's vibrant atmosphere and how easy it is to meet other travelers. Their staff is tight knit and it's nice to see how...

Super fun place if you are up for a laugh. Boozing into the night on the beach, if you like that sort of thing and perfectly located for one of the best beaches on the island/Mexico. Rooms are an ok standard and the wifi doesn't really work but it's not needed if you are having fun!

one of the most fun hostels I've ever stayed at - one of the most fun in the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Cheap and cheerful. Helpful stuff. With a bar right in the beach and hammock for the lazy ones. Volleyball at 4pm :) close to the nicest beach on the island - North Beach where you can...

Most of the things it offers are good but, considering how many people stay there, they seem a little light on staff. It has the feeling of one of those hostels that is completely dominant and perhaps isn't as good as it once was. Obviously it's good for some people but, for me, having a bar that opens at 11pm...

Mexicos oldest hostel that still ranks among the countries best. Built in the 1950s it is located on Isla Mujeres, a small Caribbean (7km long) island and is 20min from Cancun by boat. This hostel boasts a restaurant and bar that is open until 11pm, after which the real fun begins at the beach bar until 2.45am. Pocna has access to beach volleyball, games room, movies on demand and bikes for rent. We are close to North Beach, which is Isla Mujeres most beautiful beach and Pocna itself is situated right on its own beach that is perfect for relaxing and taking the sun. This exciting hostel offers free activities such as Yoga everymorning, Spanish classes, juggling and what ever happens to be being taught by one of the many talented people that pass through. If you have the talent and the time of at least one month, you can teach an activity and have your cost of your stay covered.Winter time brings on private parties inside the hostel and also bonfire nights with live music and jamming after. Everynight in there is live music in Pocna and the year also brings many high profile bands to play within the walls of Pocna. Those to date include Los Authentico Decadentes, Los Aguas Aguas, No Te Va a Gustar and La Renga with many more in the future plans. An amazing fun and social hostel. On the backpackers trail and full of international guests. A must to come and visit in Mexico. ... more   less
