We stayed just one night in Merida, between visits to Chichen Itza and Uxmal. I was looking for a centrally located, low priced, colonial style hotel within walking distance to the main sites and restaurants. The Montejo checked all these boxes. Otherwise it's a fairly spartan hotel, the beds are classic Mexican (very firm/hard), the towels were few and thin,...

My family stayed here for 4 nights and we were happy with our choice. It is within walking distance to everywhere (cathedral, many restaurants, many squares, even the zoo). Our room was basic but very clean (our maid was a lovely woman) and it had AC - 2 dbl beds, nightstand, desk, ward ward and dresser. The sink is located...

I arrived 8am from the airport after traveling overnight. I knew there would be a wait for my room but 5 hours was a bit much. It is a good basic hotel, very basic. Only one towel per day. No wash cloth for your face. Waited until 5pm a couple of days to have the room cleaned. WiFi is very...

We spent 4 nights at Hotel Montejo, first 2 on the first floor, next 2 on the second floor. First room was a little musty because the bathroom door wouldn't stay open and there is no window or exhaust fan in the bath. A little time with the a/c on and the windows open aired things out. Otherwise it was...

Loved it! The location is great, just in the center. Very close to bars, restaurants and shops, night life but it still is quiet. The pool is amazing, the hotel is beautiful. The room as spacious and very clean. I really recommend it, it's a great value!

I love Mexico but hate the frequent unwelcome surprises that always dampen the spirits at independent hotels, car rentals, etc. We really enjoyed our stay. This place is kinda cute with very basic rooms that are in fair (slightly rough) condition and clean enough. Water pressure not great and hot water not always happening. Price and value terrific and is...

Little hotel with great location in the old town. Room was small but comfortable and has air condition for the warm nights. Good staff that speaks good English was also a bonus point. Would easily stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Montejo, we ended up staying for a week. It's in an old colonial building but the rooms are nice and modern, air-con works well and we found the bed comfy. Only complaint was the the wifi doesn't work in the rooms, we always had to sit outside. The location is just two blocks...

This place was a good location, near to the old town, although we didn't realise the new town existed until our fifth day! Some staff were great and really interesting and helpful, others needed to seriously improve their local knowledge and recommendations. The hotel had some good features; pool (although needed a good clean), effective air-con, and friendly staff. However,...

Comfortable, quiet, centrally located. Staff is helpful and speak English. There is free, but slow, wifi. I didn't like my bed and was able to move to another room with a more comfortable bed with no problem. My only complaint is that until I saw another group, I didn't realize I could get a continental breakfast at the attached restaurant....
