My husband and I chose this hotel for our honeymoon. We were very pleased with our choice. It was close (in walking distance) to everything we wanted to do (the beach, food and shopping)! The room was spacious and clean. The pillows and the rainfall shower head were amazing! Check-in/out went smooth and easy.
Brunch at the rooftop restaurant was delicious. We opted for the bottomless mimosas along with brunch and the waitstaff made sure that our glasses were never empty. Definitely got our moneys worth.
We lounged by the pool a couple of times. The pool is neat and the view is amazing. The loungers were comfortable and the servers made sure to check on you to see if you wanted/needed anything. Prices were reasonable. Food and drinks were delicious.
Our room attendants were very nice and attentive. We only had them clean our room once during our stay but they always made sure that we had clean towels, replenished supplies, etc.
The ONLY complaint is that our room was on the 4th floor, below the rooftop restaurant. We unfortunately, could hear the loud music late at night and the movement of furniture early in the morning. However, we would stay here again, definitely recommend.

Excelente Hotel de 5 estrellas! Service is outstanding! Facilities are extraordinary! Roof Top Pool/Restaurant/Cantina is delightful!!! The wrap-around infinity pool and views are breathtaking! Our two-bedroom suite was spacious with a huge balcony! There was an issue for a few days with only one elevator working, but we’re on vacation so had time to wait. Hats off to las Capitanas: Susana y Carla. And Susana Zapata was right away getting to fill up my large coffee cup. She was so helpful every day with our needs and also gave us guidance for shopping and restaurants. Extremely warm and makes us feel like family. Yo regresaré de nuevo!

One of the worst vacation stays I have had. This place is an absolute disaster. We came for a travel conference and stayed for 3 nights. We had issues from the moment we checked in. We booked a suite with a whirlpool that was big enough for 1 person and is portrayed as something bigger in the booking. We checked in close to about 4pm and went upstairs to our room being cleaned and were told by the front desk that the other room was clean and you can stay in there until it’s ready. We booked a suite, not two separate rooms! Needless to say our room was not completely finished until close to 5:30pm.
The hotel offers transportation from the airport to the hotel that we were unable to utilize. We contacted them multiple times and did not receive a response until the day before the travel. Because of the inconvenience we already booked private transportation because of the lack of response. Not to mention the information for the transportation that was provided by the hotel did not was provided an error message.
Furthermore, the whirlpool was completely non-functional, and the suite's doors failed to close properly, requiring a forceful push to shut them. Both the bathroom and bedroom doors were in disrepair, with hinges and handles falling off. Additionally, the room was inadequately cleaned.
We were also informed that our Hilton rewards wouldn't be honored because we booked directly through the hotel's website. However, new members who signed up that day were given all the perks regardless of how they booked their stay.
Breakfast was utterly revolting! The menu remained unchanged, and ants were crawling all over the fruit, tables, and jam. We observed the ants on the table while eating, but were unaware of their source until we noticed them near the fruit and jars where the drinking cups were kept.
Finally, the staff were rude, unapologetic, and refused to take any responsibility or attempt to address the issues we encountered. I have never felt so eager to leave a hotel. We spent half of our time attempting to resolve issues to make our stay bearable because management was reportedly unavailable, and the front desk offered no assistance whatsoever.
Not to mention, we hardly slept due to the noise, and the hotel made no effort to mitigate outdoor sounds by providing white noise machines or any other solutions.
I do not recommend this place at all; it's one of the worst places to stay. For the price, you could stay at a beachside resort and get better value for your money.

Many others have complained of the staff, our experience was the opposite. The front desk staff, hotel manager, and supervisors were all incredibly friendly and helpful!!! I can’t say enough .. if it weren’t for them this review would be 1 star and we would’ve left to stay somewhere else.
The rooms on an entire wing have a major water issue (all the floors, not just one). The first room we had on the 3rd floor, an interior room facing the courtyard (we had 3 during our 5 day stay and looked at a 4th) the floor was damp upon arrival. We immediately asked for a dehumidifier, went for lunch and came back about an hour later to a completely wet floor, like a sauna.
They switched us to a new room a couple floors down, still interior facing the courtyard, the floor was dry but the smell of mold was overwhelming. I tried to sleep with a surgical mask on, *it was that bad*, and woke up not feeling great.
The next day we paid for an upgraded room and moved to a suite on the 4th floor with the ocean view, this side of the hotel DOESNT smell at all! I think bc it’s facing the outside and gets sun. And even when we got off the elevator, if we turned the wrong way down the “musty hall,” as we called it, you can instantly smell the mildew.
The new room was much better; balcony, jacuzzi tub, kitchenette, etc .. but yes, it is noisy all night. I use a sound machine and ear plugs, so it didn’t bother me. I’d take the noise over the mold any day of the week.
My nose was stuffed and my head ached for about a week afterwards. If you’re sensitive to smells or mold, absolutely do NOT stay here.
It is in close proximity to the main strip, you can easily walk around which was very convenient.
And like others say, Marley is an exceptional coffee shop.
Yes, the pool got crowded, but there is also a hot tub section that usually would have a couple open lounge chairs.
Bottom line, I wouldn’t stay here again.

The worst hotel I've ever been ! The breakfast included is scam , is better to eat outside , the breakfast is really poor .. no vegetables no cheese selections.
The room selections in the website is also a scam which mean no matter what you will book , you will get the most standard one because the real deluxe room os base on availability only .
They dint change towels in the room just fold it back so you might find some dirt on the towels…
When you come to the breakfast and ask for almond milk or omelette they will tell you its extra cost even if you paid for breakfast included package.
We are here for honey moon they care less about the why your here and your experience and putting so much focus of how to charge you more .
And also at the pool , the beds are extra cost .
I will nit be back here .

My husband, son and I stayed at The Fives downtown Playa Del Carmen for a week. This hotel and service provided was beyond our expectations. A huge thank you to Otavio and Renzo who ensured our stay was perfect, starting with communication before our arrival and throughout our visit, and I had the privilege to meet both of them. Everyone we met were wonderful. All were very warm and welcoming, and efficient..this hotel is extremely well run. Our two bedroom suite was very large, with beautiful balconies, view of the ocean, perfect temperature control, included everything we needed, and cleaned every day. And the roof top was spectacular! My reservation stated that I would get free shuttle to/from the airport and 11,100 pesos in credit. I had to waste my time so I could get the free shuttle because the resort wanted to charge me $80 each way, then I was told I could get it for free one way and I could get the other for free if I attended one of their presentations. Neither of those options were shown as options nor was my free shuttle contingent to a presentation. The 11,100 pesos were not given to me either because, again, it was only offered if I attended the presentation AND the monies weren’t available for me to spend as I wish. They were coupon vouchers towards alcohol or for use at the spa/salon and it was $50 off but the spa was $300+. We got the all inclusive but were also limited on what we could order off the menu and not all the restaurants were part of the all inclusive. When I called weeks prior to our arrival, the lady I spoke to told me that I would be able to order room service at any time and again, RS ended at 10:30-11 pm. I passed this information along to my family members who arrived later at night and the front desk was rude, they told my cousin to go around the corner and get food from the street vendors or at another location. I have no complaints about the servers or the cleaning staff, they were all great, very nice, and accommodating. The people at the front desk were rude and need to be better trained in customer service.

We stayed here for 13 days. I honestly don't understand the people who complained about the chaos and the music. We didn't have any of these problems. The structure is newly built, the terrace is panoramic with bar and restaurant service, with 3 panoramic swimming pools including a heated jacuzzi. The staff is very kind and attentive to their customers. A special note to the waiter Ismael, a great worker👍👍👍. Always kind, thoughtful and always attentive to all customers. When you wanted a juice, he came with the carafe and filled the glass, he didn't take it away with his hands and bring it full like others did. When he wasn't working, tables often had to be cleared and customers had to call the staff.

We came here as 3 couples for our honeymoon, we booked Delaux's room 3 months ago! we thought we will get a balcony cause this is what shows on the website, and for the money, we paid it makes sense.
First, we arrived and one of the couples didn’t even show in their system, after we showed them the confirmation number they finally figure it out, and the couple got a room with 2 queen beds because the hotel says “ the room based on availability “ ( we booked 3 months ago ). We were upset but we took it, cause what can we do?

I don’t drink cow milk - I am allergic, I paid for breakfast included which I don’t recommend to do so cause the breakfast is sucked… but we did it.
We went down to breakfast and I ask for almond milk, On the 1st day they provide me the almond milk with no problem, that makes sense right?
2nd day we woke up, went down, and asked for almond milk, and they said it will be an extra cost, I try to understand what the hell and why? And the way they answer is ridiculous. They repeating on the word “ extra cost “ without A reasonable explanation. Until I ask the manager and he gave me this stupid milk.
I mean, what kind of feeling you will get when you pay for everything in advance, and you are on your honeymoon, and the hotel you host argues with you about almond milk ???
They have a very poor breakfast, no vegetables, and one type of cheese, and if you want an omelet or sunny side up they will ask for 30 pesos more.
My friend left the room with a note to clean the room, change the towel, and all the regular stuff, when she's back to the room she unfold one of the towels and she noticed they didn't change it, her lipstick still was on the towel they just fold it back.
This hotel is not worth the money, and I’ll never recommend it.
What is funny is they opened a new hotel 19 min from here and they bagging from ppl to go there for free and spend a whole day there for free, but in the hotel that I already paid for they were not willing to do things right.
