This place is AMAZING. The people are amazing and kind. I just ate at Ume and had the best waitress. (Ale). The waiters at Elo are also amazing and the spa is the best. I highly recommend. This was a very spiritual experience involving mind, body and spirit not just a vacation. This is my third visit to Palmaia and I can’t wait for visit number 4.

Hotel's Favourite
My family and I are on the airplane after just having left Palmaia. The experience was shockingly perfect, every detail was looked after to a degree that was almost beyond comprehension. The grounds, the hotel, the structures are all so perfectly intentional and natural we just kept remarking to each other that not one corner, not the slightest edge wasn’t perfectly considered. It is set so naturally into the environment that it’s difficult to think mere mortals could be so thoughtful on this scale. It’s breathtaking. Sincerely, honestly breathtaking. Buildings don’t mean anything without a staff to make everything function. Days begin at Su Casa, where Juan will do everything in his power to make sure you have whatever you need. He is tireless, fast, friendly and always there. Either my wife or I would attend a yoga class and the other would bring the kids to Su Casa at the beginning of the day. Speaking of Yogo, do not miss out on the Hatha Vinyasa class led by Angel. It is tough, but he takes you on a journey. The morning jungle sounds add to the experience. We then would either go the to beach or head to the kids pool. Our kids didn’t love the beach but they did enjoy the paddle boards that are available to anyone that would like to use one. There was quite a lot of seaweed but there were men clearing it all day. Sometimes it wasn’t so bad. It really just depended on the day. At the kids pool Ana would be there with fresh fruit or to take an order for anything we needed. There are 2 pool bars nearby for a fresh coconut. We would then take the kids to the Kids Club, which at first we were a bit unsure about, but the staff there is incredible, especially Celeste who our boys connected with very quickly. She is very gentle, kind and amazing with kids. They have a very good schedule of activities for the kids, lunchtime at Su Casa, kids pool and bread making. They were also able to get both of our kids to nap which is almost magical. After kids club my wife and I would go back to the beach or take a class. The beach near the taco truck is where Fernando is, and he took care of us like no one else. Fernando went so far out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed it was practically heroic. It’s very hot and very sunny, and every order he brought meant another trip through the sand. It’s a tough job and he does it with a huge smile. Gracias Fernando. In the evening we would go to Eolo, the beach club, for a drink before dinner. Our server was always Debbie. I cannot say enough about her. Our kids can be fussy and she was so accommodating. A wonderful spirit, kind and gracious. We sincerely felt she was a friend by the time we left and it was sad to say goodbye. My wife and I did a ceremony on the beach for our 10th anniversary and to commemorate she spelled out “10th” in sand on a table with some rose petals and a little sparkling wine. It was way beyond what we thought. She showed a level of commitment and creativity that is way beyond what is required for her job. We could all learn a lot about what matters in life and how to be gracious from people like her. Gracias Debbie. At Palmaia you will have someone that helps you with booking restaurants or with any questions you may have. They will meet you when you arrive, get you set up and provide the daily schedule of activities for the following day. This is called your nomadic guide. Ours were Cesar and Valeria. Many thanks to them for all the advice and help. We loved it and you will too. We went in august and there were not many people there so it seemed almost like a private resort. Sandos, next door, is mobbed with people. You can hear it from the beach. But Palmaia is basically the VIP room of Sandos. Private. Quiet. Amazingly chill. Actually in order to access Palmaia you must go through Sandos. Guests of Palmaia are welcome to use the Sandos facility but we never did. We didn’t want to leave. On our last day I left my wife on the beach and I did the Temezcal ceremony which was, to put it mildly, intense. It takes over 3 hours, and it is extremely hard to deal with, but quite an experience. There is an igloo structure in the spa area that 6 of us crawled into. Hot rocks from a fire outside are put in a pit in the middle of the structure as water is poured over the rocks. There are 4 stages and it gets unbearably hot. I sweat more than I ever have. A blanket covers the door and it’s pitch black. The leader of the ceremony, Oscar, sang songs and played a drum. It is a harrowing and emotional experience that I recommend highly, but it is extremely physically and emotionally taxing. And last bit not least, my wife and I wanted to celebrate our 10th year together so we contacted Victor who arranges the pre-arrivals and he suggested we do the Tilma and Huipil Tying Ceremony. This was held on the beach and conducted by Walder who is as deep and authentic as anyone we’ve ever met. The hotel arranged professional photographers. It moved me deeply and I feel transformed by it. It was a very memorable occasion. Regarding the food, we are not vegan, but we ate mostly plant based for the stay. The food is a major part of Palmaia, so we did not want to miss out on this. It’s definitely worth it and they make it easy to get meat alternatives if you desire. I would suggest trying things their way and if doesn’t fit for you then so be it. But the experience is so streamlined and well thought out that it would be remiss not to take their suggestions to heart. At least while you’re there. I hope this review helps. Palmaia is a 15 out of 10 for style, service, accommodation, facilities, food, decor, layout… Everything. We can’t wait to go back.

Plant based food was incredibly delicious! Even my non vegan husband enjoyed and was able to get tasty animal protein options when requested. Beach is absolutely breathtaking with comfortable bean bag gazebos. The spa was an exceptionally unique experience, like stepping into ancient Mayan bliss! We’ve been to over a dozen resorts in Mexico and Palmaia has got it right. The cocktails and service are also outstanding. Only negative I would say is that the entrance and reception is underwhelming compared to the actual resort. Needs more work and wow factor as first impressions count. Everything else …simple divine! #Domingoisastar

Dear Guest, Thank you for describing each part of your journey here at Palmaïa - The House of AïA. It is a fact that first impressions count, but in terms of priorities, we believe that natural surroundings preservation is above. That's why you find a shared entrance with next's doors resort. Somehow, we also want to keep our gem a little bit hidden, which warrants a tranquil environment not only for our guests but also for cohabitant wildlife. We look forward to hosting you again soon!

I can’t say enough good thing about Palmaia. The food is incredible - for vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians, and omnivores. The staff go out of their way to be accommodating and friendly (shoutouts to Ale, Alfredo, Freddy, Raul, and so many more). It is clean, rooms are impeccable. I can’t wait to go back!

Ale was amazing!! The service and food were both incredible. The loved the grilled romaine, pineapple and watermelon appetizers the most, allthough everything we had was delicious. The desserts were also wonderful. We had the 3 milk ice cream with strawberries and chocolate cake. Would highly recommend this place!

Jacky and Esteban (my Nomadic guides) made my stay! The property was a tropical paradise. And I can’t say enough about the restaurants. The food was beautiful and yummy. The whole staff at the house of Aia were exceptional. My room was clean and beautiful. I took several bubble baths while gazing at the ocean. if I needed anything Jacky or Esteban would make sure it was provided. I felt safe and provided for in the most organic and luxurious way. I would suggest you stay a minimum of 5 days. You won’t want to leave.

Nestled in the jungle and along the beach, it embodies the perfect ambience for a tropical getaway. Anything you need or desire is at your fingertips, and every moment is full with beauty, tranquility and elegance. The food is exquisite. The flavors of service, the presentation make each dining experience unforgettable. Be sure to ask for Eduardo at the Lek restaurant. He was wonderful.
