This was our second stay at Vive La Vida and we love it! Great common area with a cute little plunge pool and excellent wifi. The kitchen is huge with free coffee, free water, all the equipment you need and a great triple fridge to keep your fruit and beer cold. Welcoming staff, sweet location and spotless bathrooms with loads...

Vive la Vida was by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in, and I try to exclusively stay in hostels when I travel. They advertise that the room has air conditioning, but they fail to tell you that it starts at 11:30 PM and is not under your control. Speaking of the room, I felt like I was...

Very disappointed with my stay at Vive La Vida. I would strongly recommend people to not go by the high score this place has. It's advertised as having A/C, which is true, but you as a guest have no control over it, and it doesn't turn on until very late, we were asleep before it even came on. We rented...

The people that run the hostel are some of the warmest people i have met. The individuals who frequent the hostel are the same. I would recommend this place to everyone. If you want to see Playa del Carmen and stay with some really amazing people then i recommend that you stay here! It is safe, fun, and accepting. Dont...

Someone told us to come here. So we did and it wasn't the best The good - alright showers The bad - aircon didn't come on in rooms until 11.30 - we asked for a private room, we got an empty dorm with a curtain Inbetween the other room - they advertise pool, but they have an acidic puddle -...

Viva la Vida was a great place to stay in Playa! I stayed there with my 11 year old son for two weeks. Full of young people from all over the world (there were at least ten different nationalities while I was there). The staff were friendly and spoke pretty good English. If you are looking for low-budget, basic, dormitory...

I really enjoyed the people here, great atmosphere and free VIP open bar at a fun club. I had a wonderful night here and would recommend to future travelers. Check in was easy. Bathrooms were clean and they offered me a lock to use for their lockers. Great people.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We found it by accident and could not have scored better accommodation. Vive la Vida is perfectly located on Calle 2 right by all the collectivos, perfect if you want a day trip to Xpu-ha or Tulum. They have a great mix of nationalities staying and it is a very social...

The hostel has a great website and there's no difference from the site and the hostel itself. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a lot of free supplies, as well as free coffee in the morning. The main courtyard is a very nice place to hang out with people and use wifi. Rooms are clean and comfortable but...
