My wife & I have just returned from the Riu Playacar and having dropped guests off at other hotels during our transfer from the airport, our initial impression was “we’ve made the right choice” and that opinion didn’t change. The hotel and surrounding gardens were immaculate; the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Room Having been offered a welcome...

This hotel is flat, very spaced out with lots of room, wide paths. Miss the jungle feel though as not many trees, but the upside is you have sea view rooms in part of the complex. I like the idea of a separate bar in reception ( foyer), so much quieter. I also like the pool lay out although not...

This was our first time in Mexico and after considering all options decided on the Riu Playacar. The Dreamliner flight was very good and the expected circus at Cancun airport didn't disappoint. The Playacar suited all our needs being slightly smaller than other Riu's nearby. We visited the Tequila and Yucatan but were glad we chose the Playacar. The staff...

Love RIU Playacar. That's why we return year after year. The all-inclusive resort was completely renovated a year ago with stellar results (though we still miss the Mexican architecture). Easy 45+/- minute drive from Cancun airport. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and now have wifi and AC. Pools (3) are well arranged with plenty of comfy...

Great resort, especially for the price. Staff are extremely helpful and smiling. Resort is very clean. As noted in other reviews, if you like more quiet and closer to the beach, ask for buildings 7 or 8. Be aware many families have small children. This wasn't a problem for us. The resort was full when we were visiting, but it...
