Hotel Xcaret Arte garners acclaim for its comfortable and pristine rooms, though room service and noise occasionally mar the experience. The hotel's location is celebrated for its scenic views and proximity to attractions.
Service at the resort is often described as outstanding, with staff members earning praise for their dedication. While the atmosphere and amenities—such as rooftop pools and all-inclusive options—are highlights for many guests, some feel the costs for additional services undermine the overall value.

My husband and I were recently treated to a long weekend at Hotel Xcaret Arte and it was wonderful! We’ve been to a few other all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, enjoying ourselves each time but this was exceptional! This property was so visually stunning to the credit of its architect who put his love for Mexico in each detail. There was always something to catch your eye. Attentive is how we’d describe the service, the staff were quick to help and made our stay carefree. Please consider bringing tip money and maybe even getting pesos before you go to make it easier for them. There were very good food options, buffets and restaurants and if you are a steak lover get the Tomahawk steak for two at Arenal. Looked like something from Fred Flintstone and my husband enjoyed it all by himself:) Included with the all inclusive price is admission to adventure parks that are part of Xcaret which we did not do because of the short stay but we did kayak and paddle board (also included). The only up charge we came across was for the spa although there could be others. The rooms were nice with the typical things we’ve had in other resorts but this place had spare toothbrushes, toothpaste just in case. The little things, right? We had a room with two queen beds but we thought we were getting a king. No shade on the resort, we didn’t make the arrangements and just assumed. If you are planning a trip, I would advise making reservations to the restaurants that require them ahead of your arrival. And don’t wait to reserve your spots for the adventure parks. They are included but spots might be limited. And just a caution, some no show fees apply to some reservations. You can cancel without a penalty however. This is a place we’d definitely visit again. It was a gem among all-inclusives. Best free trip ever!

Travelled as a couple Feb 6-13/23. We have always been Sandals/Beaches people but this resort looked too good to pass up. This resort will not have the activities you find at a Sandals property- snorkeling, pool trivia, volleyball, corn hole etc but you will not be bored here. We were blown away by the level of service, the resort itself and all the parks we visited.
The airport shuttle is easy to find and took us about 1 & 1/4 hour to the resort and on the way back was 2 hours door to door to terminal 3.
We stayed 7 days in Artistas building to give us access to Mexico restaurants. For us, the extra was definitely worth it as Fuego and Las Cuevas were favorites. We had Lorena and Brenda as butlers and they were very good, professional and helped us a lot. They decorated our room for my husbands birthday and left some treats for us too. We will request them on our next trip for sure.
We mainly booked this resort for the included parks- we did Xenotes, Xavage, Xenses, Xplor Fuego and Xcaret. I will do this review as a hotel review and will do a separate review on our park adventures. Even without the parks, I believe we would not have been disappointed as the resort is out of this world. I did a lot of research before booking; YouTube, joined Facebook fan page etc, but the videos and pictures just do not do this resort justice.
Resort: The resort is so beautiful and organic- even sitting in the rooftop pools, you are overlooking other rooftops that are gardens. The attention to detail is amazing-every aspect is thoughtful and beautiful. The art, the scents, the people are above and beyond. All employees we interacted with were warm, friendly and very helpful. All signature or hand crafted cocktails are so very good- not mass produced- and beautifully presented every time.
I believe that we were very close to full capacity but at no time did it feel crowded at the pools, beach or restaurants. We loved the fact that there is no saving loungers at the pool or beach. They have attendants who will get you a seat. There was never a time that we couldn’t find someplace to sit at any pools or the beach/lagoon. The ocean was rough for most of our stay so we didn’t get in there but swam in the lagoon a lot. Look for and use all the Xelfie spots - it’s fun to scroll through pictures on your room TV - we bought a 3 park package which included all the resort pictures.
Arrival day, we went to Fuego on Mexico side. Hugo was our waiter and he set the bar very high. He was so helpful explaining dishes and drinks- one of our favorite meals. Day 2: Xenotes tour. Did Kibi Kibi for breakfast and although it was good we realized we prefer more traditional breakfast so we did Cayuco every other morning. Went to Las Cuevas for supper that night. Marco was our waiter and very nice. It’s a buffet with the meat that comes to your table on a skewer. It was very good. Day 3: spent the morning touring the resort. Kayaked in the lagoon- very fun and has Xelfie spots. Had lunch at Artistas rooftop pool - excellent food all around. We found that this pool did not have a lot of shade so it wasn’t the best for for us. We went to Xcaret park for a few hours in the afternoon. We did Kibi Kibi for supper and again realized it was just not to our taste. Day 4: Xavage is an all day tour- back for supper. Went for a drink at the Tiki bar - Ivan makes wonderful Tiki drinks and is very friendly. Went to Tah-Xido for supper -Carlos was our server and very good and Enyermo was our chef and is hilarious. The food and drinks were delicious. Day 5: Xenses in the morning and Xplor Fuego at night. Afternoon spent at the Artistas rooftop pool with lunch- again excellent food. Spent some time at the Disenio rooftop pool and I will have to say that I did prefer it because of the shade there. The attendants are so helpful and accommodating. The food at this rooftop is excellent as well. Went to the Espectacular show at Xcaret park that evening- it is a must see- very well done. Found the speakeasy that night and went for drinks and of course tacos. Day 6: Las Cuevas for Sunday brunch- it is worth all the hype. It is overwhelming at times but so magical and the food is of course delicious. Spent the day pool hopping until Super Bowl time. Went to the vegan restaurant-Appapachio for supper with a friend and Daniel was wonderful explain all the delicious food and drinks.
I don’t think I could pick a favorite restaurant - the food was better than I expected. I do not have an adventurous palate and that may be why I didn’t like Kibi Kibi but all other options we tried were fantastic.
There is a lot of the resort we didn’t get to see since we spent so much time off doing tours. I feel that 7 days is not enough if you are doing a lot of tours. Oh well, I will just have to go back.
Shout outs for great service: Lorena and Brenda our butlers All housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient Hugo at Fuego Ivan at the Tiki bar Enyermo and Carlos at Tah-Xido Rachel server at the lagoon Daniel at Appapachio All the servers at Cayuco- went 6 mornings and service is top notch. I have forgotten the names of the servers/attendants at the Artistas and Diseneo pools but they were all excellent.
I am sure I am missing something - it was truly wonderful and now is officially our favorite resort.

The hotel lives up to its name XCARET "ARTE", it is beautiful and I know where you turn from the bedrooms that pay tribute Mexican artists to the Loby, the restaurants each with their respective theme.
And prepared because of all the food is delicious And you will surely return to your home with a few extra pounds.
The variety of pool activities disco bars the complex is created not to leave it from the parks to the hotels and their amenities.
I want to thank you mainly to the Mayans who were attending to me and my husband since without them attention would not have been the same, today it is part of the experience to host my expectations for much thanks to Jaime and Paola, they were fundamental piece for our vacation to be unforgettable, always covered all our needs were outstanding 24/7.
The Concierge of Alberca Angel, Yahir and Jorge, always attentive to our needs with personalized attention.
Suites are extremely equipped precisely so that they do not carry much luggage there are from disposable rakes, shaving foam, aromatic candles, sewing kit, toothpaste, soap, conditioner, everything you do not need to carry so much luggage, comfort from bed to bathrobes are delicious.
The SPA Muluk impeccable, had taken services in other hotels of the same category but the spa is spectacular from the attention to facilities and service.
Thank you XCARET for such an amazing and unforgettable vacation.
Definitely one of my favorite destinations to celebrate our anniversary.

I have had the opportunity to go several times (12) to both Xcaret Arte and Xcaret México, and this is the first time I have considered writing a review. The truth is that the quality of the service has declined quite a bit, I had room 3317 and the cleaning during the entire stay was terrible. I let them know on the second day of my stay but they paid no attention to the comment, the basic amenities that a Hotel should have shampoo, conditioner, cream, etc. They never restocked them, I had to call every night to ask for them, the minibar and the snacks were never restocked, I had sent my wish list a month in advance since I was celebrating my anniversary and my wife's birthday, well On neither of the two days did they give us the amenities that we know they provide, the truth is that it is not a big deal but they make you feel "special" with those details. The maid came in twice without ringing the bell and when she saw that we were inside the room she only said "I'm checking if there are people and she closed" I made the comment again and it was forgotten. I was in love with their spa but on this occasion it was a total disappointment, the jacuzzis were turned off and the hydromassage circuit no longer has the same pressure, not to mention that those of us who were there had their eyes irritated. I don't know if it was the chlorine or something, but it was unbearable. .
Its gastronomy is spectacular, it's a shame that they changed the tasting concept of Chino-Poblano and now it's a la carte before it was better. Encanta has unparalleled gastronomy that is very delicious.
As for the Deseo club, the DJ was great. I went 4 nights and on all 4 nights it was a total disappointment. The place was empty, but it served to get to know the VYP cantina, the food is incredible, the atmosphere with their live group is fabulous.
At the time of check-out they asked me about my stay and I told them about everything bad they had, they make you feel guilty about the events and they told me why I didn't report it, I told them that I reported it several times and never They paid attention, yet apparently I was the culprit or that's what they made me feel.
It is a shame that a hotel like this has declined in service, they should take care of those small details before they become gigantic.

The resort, food, and staff are amazing. Love that the resort includes the parks. Certain parks require a reservation but overall every easy to go to. Buses to xenses and xcaret (not sure about xplor or xavage as we didn’t do those) run every 20 minutes and back to the hotel. Certain restaurants for dinner also require a reservation. If you call the resort before you arrive they can usually help you set it up. Waiting till the last minute most reservations for restaurants are gone. But there are plenty that don’t require a reservation. A point of confusion for us at Xcaret was were told that we would get towels included with the locker only to be told there that it would be required to rent, honestly never got clarification on it. But truth is we walked so much that the towel would have been cumbersome so it wasn’t really a necessity. Only hiccup was when we were checking out, we were told to just go to the front toward the bus. Truth is you check out at your casa then get a boarding pass. Also note that they will send you to the airport about 4 hours prior. The bus runs every 30 minutes in case you miss one. Overall we can’t wait to return again. One of our favorite destinations to come to.

Opinion October 2023 (update): I went in May 2023, and returned in October 2023, the previous time I gave 5/5, and that is why I returned in October, I had already gone to HXM last year and I preferred this one again, I want to be punctual in the differences I observed, and which have changed my perception: 1. The previous time when checking in, they took me to the room, this time not, and even though I spoke with the reception supervisor in charge, they did nothing. 2. In May 2023, when I went, I was celebrating years of marriage, and they sent me a gift to my room. When I went to HXM last year, I was celebrating my and my daughter's birthday. They still sent us a gift, this time in October 2023. I was celebrating my birthday again and my daughter's, and they sent us absolutely nothing, even though I spoke to "Everything flows" 3. The waiter service is friendly, however before they really tried hard, and I at least left a tip, even though I saw that almost no one does, this time, the warmth diminished, it no longer feels the same, but I was still grateful the attention to the waiter and with tip. 4. When checking out, they asked me about the details, and when reviewing my status, they realized that I am a member, and their response was that I should have discussed it with the reception supervisor (but excuse me, I'm not going of complaint, one goes in a plan of pleasure, if your attention is given or not, well you will know)
I have read several comments, and several who are going for the first time, it is a pleasure, when you return even for the fourth time, you become more aware of the details, and this happens a lot with those of us who have returned, I do not want to leave with a bad impression , but something is definitely up at HXA.
May 2023: Without a doubt this has been the best hotel I have ever been to, everything is excellent, the service, the friendliness, the food, the pools, in my opinion much better than the Xcaret México, being for adults I felt in a better atmosphere, the specialty restaurants are a delight, it is not a hotel for everyone, as has always been said, because of how expensive it is, but it is definitely worth every peso or dollar invested, I just went and I will return again this year , I even booked again :), the rooms are impressive, they treat you like a king, whether you are Mexican or not, it is the same treatment for everyone, they have two "clubs" that you should wow!, impressive, your reservation includes admission to the parks (whoever you want) that's why they own the "All fun inclusive", they have a themed cafeteria, everything in the hotel smells delicious, the bathrooms, the hallways, everything!!! In the souvenir shop (5 shops, one in each house) the prices are not high, they give you courtesies in the rooms, all the restaurants are unbeatable, I would really run out of praise, it is something truly worth ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!, This is a true success story in my beloved, adored and extremely loved Mexico, I simply adore this hotel, and I will return whenever I can

The hotel has many amenities and attractive things that make it feel like a luxury hotel, however, it has giant flaws, which no one takes care of, and they tarnish the entire stay.
1. My partner and I stayed for a week. On the first day, we were invited to a talk for a hotel membership. The talk would last a maximum of 90 minutes and would be during breakfast, so we accepted. Terrible decision. They allowed us to have breakfast in 15 minutes, and then gave us a great tour of the hotel (of which we were already guests!), ending in the salesman Rodolfo's “office”, which turned out to be a room full of other salespeople along with other couples and families, to whom they were offering membership for the modest sum of 140 thousand dollars. This whole via crucis ended up lasting almost 3 hours! And it resulted in us ending up missing a pottery workshop that we had scheduled for 1 pm, even though from the beginning and on numerous occasions we informed Rodolfo and Majo (sellers) that we had the workshop, so we asked them to hurry up. 2. That same day we made a complaint about the bad time, by phone to our concierge Diana and also directly at the concierge palapa, where we were assisted by Rodrigo, who, in a bad way, wrote down a couple of details on a post-it and said his boss would call us. Our last day of stay arrived, and although we tried to request follow-up on our claim through various means, we did not receive a response. 3. On our penultimate day of stay, day 6, we woke up to the surprise that we did not have hot or cold water in the shower, due to a problem in the hotel building where we were staying (Casa de la Paz). When requesting a solution, the offer was that we take a shower in the hotel's public dressing rooms. Despite many insistences that they give us a decent solution, we spoke with Ricardo Uribe, concierge supervisor, who assured us it would be resolved no later than the next morning (our last day). Surprise! We had to shower with ice water before checking out, since that was the solution. Furthermore, Ricardo said that he would be waiting for us at checkout to ensure that everything turned out expeditiously, due to the bad experience we had, however, we left without seeing any trace of him.
It should be noted that according to Ricardo, the entire hotel had the same problem, but when he asked guests in other buildings, they all indicated that they had hot water.
At the end of the day, the hotel is very nice, but it has serious customer service problems. It seems like they try to convince you to become a member, paying stratospheric memberships (of which you have to pay 25% immediately), and if they don't succeed, you go into the background as a guest.
I would not recommend staying at this hotel, since the 5 diamonds are conspicuous by their absence. And for no reason do I recommend that you go to your membership talk.

As a black sold traveler, this was the BEST birthday trip ever. I’ve always felt nervous traveling to Mexico so I never booked a trip there. This was my first trip to Mexico and baby let me tell you it definitely won’t be my last. I freaking enjoyed every minute of my entire trip. First, I want to say that Xcaret is top-tier. I felt very welcomed from the time I arrived at the airport to being shuttle to the hotel by one of their big beautiful buses with two bathrooms (one for male and another for females) to checking in and being shuttle to and from the parks. As you arrive to the hotel, many concierge awaiting to take your luggage and give a ticket with a ext number to call when arrive in your room and they bring your luggage to you after check-in. The room (swim up pool) very modern, up-to-date, very, very clean. Everyone and I mean everyone was very professional, polite and attentive. I love how entry ths parks is included with your hotel stay. I just freaking love this place. I will be definitely returning soon.

Full rooms, tv, room service, jacuzzi, beautiful views, pleasantries, super comfortable bed, rests very well. Very attentive staff, are everywhere so if you need help there is always someone to ask. There is much to do in the parks and within the hotel that is beautiful. Excellent food, hunger we do not stop, there are restaurants throughout the hotel, from breakfast, Mexican, Chinese food, cuts of meat, seafood, pastas for all tastes and everything delicious. Beautiful views.
Recommendation: the room service is late (1hr-2hrs) I ordered three times to the room and it is the approximate time it took to bring the food, so if you are in a hurry do not order to the room better go to one of the restaurants.
Recommendation: wear a swimsuit for every day you will be there because whether you want to enjoy the hotel pools or the parks humidity does not allow clothes to dry completely and water shoes essential.
Book early at restaurants for dinner two weeks before your viewing or you won't find a place (only those that require the reservation).
There won’t be anything you need that you won’t find inside the same hotel, although the prices won’t be the same as in a common store.
The service is splendid with the guests, so if you have the opportunity to stay do it and do not miss the parks, it is worth it.

Where do I begin!! First of all, we have been to a number of other resorts. This is the FIRST time that I have wanted to return to a resort for a second, third, fourth visit!!
The grounds are perfectly manicured, the staff are so unbelievably friendly and attentive without overdoing it to the point you feel uncomfortable. We are picky about food and drinks, but we loved pretty much everything we ate and the drinks were strong and well made! (Toasted coconut with the piña colada was just perfect.
The river in addition to the pools and ocean really made for a magical experience.
We were only able to go to 2 of the parks (Xcaret and Xplor) but we had an amazing time at both and would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone! Especially if you enjoy animals and water activities. I know it’s difficult to leave the resort once you’re there, but you would be doing yourself a disservice by skipping the parks. They are amazing!
It was never too crowded, always easy to get a chair at the pool or a table at a restaurant. The mercado buffet is absolutely perfect for breakfast, and if SOMEHOW they don’t have what you want..they WILL make it!!
There were so many friendly and helpful staff members but I am so bad with names so I apologize in advance!! When you’re there, try to make sure and ask people if it’s okay to snap a quick pic of their name tag so you don’t have to worry about remembering.
I do want to call out the few that I do remember! Jorge Fernandez at the pool was so attentive and helpful! He also had very interesting stories and has such a love for his job and for the location it’s inspiring!! David our waiter at el Mercado was absolutely fantastic!! Javier was our butler and was extremely responsive and helpful for instructions, reservations, and last minute questions. Christian at the rooftop pool was fun and super helpful!! Everyone was just amazing. By far the best vibe I have gotten from resort staff so far, and it really makes a big difference!
Oh yeah!! Hydrotherapy was so relaxing and in such a beautiful area. I would absolutely recommend as well
I could not have been happier with this trip, this hotel, and all of the staff!! Usually, by the end of a 3-4 day trip I am more than ready to go home, but this time I almost had to be dragged out kicking and screaming!!
11/10 would absolutely recommend!!!

Hi, I would say it is very convenient to get off grounds because you can either may quick phone call from your room and arrange the destination. the 2nd option is go to your main lobby and they will arrange taxi for you pick up and drop off. FYI included in your stay you have access to the nine parks they own which your transfer to and from an included.
Hi, the list of restaurants can be viewed online but also once you book your reservation they will send you what is called an Experience form were you will fill out the slots for your park experiences including dinning options. I am travel agent if you need assistance let me know. I can assist you and provide more in depth details. Regarding fridge yes it is available in your stateroom.
Yes, actually recommend because they have discounted alcoholic bottles on property plus you can have it around you in the infinite pool area for example. FYI if you purchase bottle outside of the resort you can bring it in but you’ll only be allowed to consume in your room only. I hope this helps.
Unfortunately no bikes are available to ride around in the actual Xcaret Mexico or Xcaret Arte Resorts. If you happen to visit Xel-ha park they do have Bike Ride available.
There are more places to choose from in the Playa del Carmen area.
