If you want a proper vacation please don’t come here. It is depressing. The creepy little front desk scared me for second I thought I went to a wrong place. The front desk is rude as well. The hotel is on the street of central downtown. I can’t sleep as it is too noisy. The room has no phone to call front desk. No phone at all. Room is dark. No blanket only sheet. Man it is cold at night. I didn’t sleep the whole night. I didn’t care that I wasted the rest three nights fee I have already paid. Booked another resort right way. And moved next morning. As vacation to Mexico should be like a vacation!! It is horrible here. Don’t come!!

I was very satisfied that I had chosen this hotel - good location, great service and atmosphere. I always appreciated a good bed there were really good ones. Special thank you to the receptionist Omar who was helpful and gave a lot of good advice and bartender Lalu who was very friendly and made amazing cocktails at the rooftop bar.

I spent my birthday week at La Pasion in July this year with my Mom. Not all rooms are equal. I loved my room!!! Had a great layout, lots of wood, comfy bed, a balcony, and the AC was beautifully cold!! loved the cable, awesome movie channels ! The mini fridge was great as well! By the reception there is 24 hours complimentary instant coffee, tea, and nice cold water. My mom complained that her room was small, the hotel not kept up, with outdated furniture, etc. I loved it. It is cozy, intimate, quiet, authentic, and different. I felt at home, and didn't want to leave. The 2 pools and jacuzzi are surrounded by palm trees and luscious plants, and they are clean, and never crowded. The breakfast was amazing! I included it in my purchase, and I was expecting coffee/tea, juice and bagels/muffins. No sir. They gave you a menu! You could pick from different omelets, breakfast burritos, doughnuts, fruits, pancakes, sausage, toast, sandwiches, juices, coffee, milk, tea, I mean...I was shocked!!! The location is great! There's a convenience store at the corner, and one block away there's a Walmart! Right next to the hotel, there's a restaurant you can't miss. Food there is delicious, and 3 blocks away there's all sorts of shops, cafes, restaurants with live music, malls, souvenir shops, artisans, etc. I will forever cherish my stay at La Pasion Hotel!

I made a reservation through Expedia for 1 night and my reservation included free breakfast. I made the reservation because my flight was going to arrive late for my final destination so I decided to spend the night at playa del carmen, Upon arrival everything was going well until the receptionist told me that my breakfast wasn't included and if I wanted I could pay an extra fee for it. I showed him my reservation through Expedia where it showed that it was with breakfast included and he told me that it was a mistake from Expedia but that he was going to honor it. ( In a tone like he was doing me a favor) In the morning when I went to the restaurant for breakfast and a cup of water, the water arrived after I asked 2 different waiters and after I had already finished my food and the water had a hair in it. The room is fine and the hotel is very close to bars and restaurants.

Clean room. Comfortable beds. Beautiful landscaping. Very nice, clean pools and hot tub. Excellent, honest, helpful staff. Great breakfast. Centrally located. Walking distance to Fifth Ave as well as many other local area restaurants! We didn't have a bad meal our entire stay! Right across the street from a park with holiday festivities. I was having a bad travel day when we checked out. I was probably pretty hung over from the night before... I ended up leaving my Iphone on the steps outside the hotel. It wasn't until several hours later I noticed it missing. We called the hotel from my husbands phone and they went outside and the phone was still there! Staff held it for me until we could get back to claim it! I am counting the days until our next stay! See you in October!!

My room was "clean". I contacted the front desk and was treated poorly. The location is great, nonetheless, however it isn't worth dealing with such bad service. Booking at a different place next time.

So many good things about this place - and the value is simply outstanding - 5 circles for that. I give a 4.5 overall rating. Location thankfully a couple blocks up from 5th ave (honestly who is into 5th ave anymore? Loud, expensive, and a constant aggressive shakedown. No thanks) and bonus you are that much closer to 10th or 30th. Standard room is compact with a nice simple decor. Bathroom was tight, but the shower is awesome as is the water pressure. Room had a fridge, always a big plus. Our AC worked just fine. pool decks were nice to lounge at, though the upstairs one lack meaningful shade. Negatives were all little things - our safe was not working properly, the coffee service downstairs has good drinking water, but only instant coffee. Biggest issue for me was our bed - mattress was lumpy and didn't really do wonders for my back. That one is due for replacement. Staff was friendly and there was always someone there. Park across the street is completely torn up for revitalization and replacement - fenced off. When that is finished that will up the cool factor for this hotel because then you will have lovely views of a new major city plaza. I recommend and would stay here again.

Charming hotel with tons of character very close to the city center, ADO bus terminal, and the Cozumel ferries. There are 3 small pools and lots of little nooks to lounge around in. Super nice staff. AC could’ve been better but it was comfortable enough for us. There’s free filtered water, decent wifi, and locally made toiletries which were very nice. The elevators were broken and we were on the third floor but we had help with the little luggage we had.

We spent 1 night at La Pasion hotel. The location is great, within walking distance to 5th Ave. An included breakfast was also a nice inclusion for the price I paid. The electric outlet in the room wasn't working properly, giving me a false impression that something was wrong with my charger. Front desk staff was nice to check if my charger was working on their outlet. There was a taxi parked in front of the hotel. We asked much our ride would cost, the taxi driver told us 300 Mexican pesos. We came to the front desk and inquired with them about pricing. They said it would be 350 Mexican pesos. One of the front desk staff went and started arguing with the taxi driver who eventually refused to give us a ride for a previously quoted amount of 300 pesos, he said we have to book it through the hotel. It was bizarre that they would do this in front of the clients. We went around the hotel corner and got our taxi.

Terrible experience! Would not recommend at all! Customer service was beyond horrible. The room was dirty with mold on the faucets of the sink and shower. The A/C was not working with nearly 40 degrees Celsius inside and they booked me in a room on the 3rd floor with the elevators not working. The room only has one dim light so it is very dark, and no outlets to charge your phone. When I arrived in my car rental, I parked in front of the hotel where the hotel staff saw me. They were unable to inform me that they had a parking garage. Just ONE hour later, I got fined by transit and almost got my car towed!!! Then when I finally go to my room, the A/C was not working. I asked the manager of the hotel to change my room to one with A/C and he screamed and insulted me, basically gaslighting me saying "this was the normal air of the beach and jungle of the region." And instead of giving me a solution, he said that I could cancel my reservation (without refund of course) at 10 pm. I do NOT recommend this place. Please, do yourself a favor and do not book here if you want to have a good experience at Playa del Carmen. And based on my experience, not recommended for female travelers! Me and my friend did not feel safe at any time after the insults of the manager.
