We had a terrible experience at Hilton Playa del Carmen due to the incredibly loud noise coming from our room jacuzzi in the middle of the night for two consecutive nights. Despite bringing this issue to the attention of the manager, Alebi Pereyra, front desk staff, we were treated poorly and the problem was not resolved satisfactorily. We were extremely disappointed with the lack of consideration and professionalism displayed by the hotel staff in handling this situation. We do not recommend staying at Hilton Playa del Carmen if you value a peaceful and pleasant experience. It was particularly disheartening as this stay was meant to be our honeymoon, a special time that we had been looking forward to. Despite our attempts to communicate our concerns, the hotel staff seemed unwilling to listen to us or address the issues effectively. This lack of empathy only added to our disappointment and led to a negative overall experience at Hilton Playa del Carmen.

Hotel's Favourite
Two magical weeks in July 2022 at this magical resort. From start to finish, the staff, the fellow guests, the food, the rooms, the facilities, the entertainment, could not have been better. We made so many new friends. Special mention to Max, Alejandro, Luisa in the entertainment team who made every day so much fun and to Marisol at 24 hr all inclusive and Barefoot who's service and approach to customer relations was exceptional. We were very sad to leave and can't wait to go back. There is nothing to improve on. The management of this resort clearly have a great approach to hospitality and I imagine the staff are very well looked after given the smiles on all their faces. We even had a minor injury and had to see the medical team and they too were amazing. Thank you also to the Discover team who arranged fantastic excursions for us creating unforgettable memories. If you are looking for a 5 star all inclusive adult only resort with the ability to get out and about and explore, we can recommend this resort very highly.

I had a great time with the Activity Team, especially Esteban, Ulysses, Celeste, and Job. They made the trip very fun and special for my friends and I. We played water volleyball, learned how to salsa dance, and got to make hand crafts with the team.

We came to this resort (3rd time) to Celebrate our Mom’s 90th Birthday and a celebration it was. The resort employees were awesome all around from Samhanta Chamorro in the Gourmet Concierge, to Catalina Rodriguez the front desk Concierge, Daniela Zurita in reservation that helped me with many reservations. The food is excellent at this resort and the entertainment every night is exceptional! Then you go to the pool daily and the entertainment crew is fabulous! They all took an interest in my Mom and made her feel like a Rock Star. A big thank you goes out to Roberto, Marilyn, Ulises, Fer, Estebon, celeste and Job!!!!! Wow! All of them were very energetic and got the pool guests involved in everything they did. The Foam Party on Wednesday and Saturday was a Blast!!!!! We will be back! Thank you fora wonderful week celebrating my Mom’s 90th Birthday!

My friends and I were so pleased with the service and friendly hospitality provided for us during our stay here. The following staff members have made our trip so memorable as they went above and beyond to make us smile: Esteban, Celeste, Roberto, Job, Marilyn, Ulises and Fernado. These wonderful people provided us with entertainment, laughter, good times and of course...tequila. We are counting down the days until we make it back to this resort!

Esteban and Celeste did an amazing job leading aqua aerobics classes in the pool. Yoga on the beach with Juan was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend staying at this resort and taking classes with these instructors. My room was very comfortable and large. The evening entertainment was great.

The resort itself is very nice. It's well maintained and clean. The staff was great and attentive. The food is nothing special, I'd say average at best. The breakfast is really good, but that's the best meal. I did not try the upcharge restaurant, so I have no opinion on it. There's a pretty decent gym to work out in that's well equipped. The pool is a nice layout but overwhelmed with pay to use cabanas. There should be more lounge chairs. They also should have a 2nd hot tub as the current fills up quick when it's cold. The liquor upcharges didn't really make sense, Smirnoff, absolute, and skye were free, but titos is an upcharge. Whiskey wise jim, Jack, cc, johnnie red n 12 are free, but Woodford Reserve is an upcharge. The drinks also seemed weak. If you order a margarita, you need to specify which tequila to make it stronger. The rooms are kind of poorly lit, and the walls are thin. You can hear people watching TV in the next or get woken up by people puking. Linens could probably use a refresh. I didn't think the bed was very comfortable more firm than I'd typically prefer. The location of the resort is tough to beat. 5th is a block away. The ferry is about a mile walk down 5th. With a few changes, I think this place could easily go from decent to great.

BEST ANNIVERSARY TRIP YET! We went for our 5th anniversary… we booked through JetBlue Vacations to create seamless travel from our home airport, to Cancun airport, with transportation to/from airport to the resort included. FOOD The food was amazing at all of the restaurants. It also helps that it was all We watched some review videos about the resort/restaurants ahead of time and many of them were very accurate, EXCEPT people said they didn’t enjoy Khalamata and my entire party of 6(from California and Florida) agreed that it might have been the best restaurant here. STAFF SHOUTOUTS EVERY. SINGLE. STAFF MEMBER exceeded our expectations of hospitality and service. We didn’t like that we were almost tricked into a timeshare presentation as soon as we got our keys at check-in, but other than that, we REALLY enjoyed every single interaction with the resort staff. Special shout out to these staff members: - Reuben at Pelicano’s Restaurant (breakfast/lunch) - Eric at Pelicano’s Restaurant (Late afternoon) - Job & Roberto from the Entertainment team - Jose & Javier from Spice

This was our second stay in less than a year but we probably won’t be back. The resort is really pretty and kept up nicely! The food is pretty good! One weird thing we went to the Mexican restaurant outside and when I tried to order a chicken quesadilla (that I just ordered the day before) he told me they don’t have chicken quesadillas… not sure if it was a language barrier? So the service was kind of hit or miss. I did think the Asian place was delicious! I was actually surprised it was included! But make sure you make reservations when you get there! Otherwise you won’t be eating until 9 or 10. The pool is the worst part of the resort (and for me that’s a big part). People go down at 7am to lay towels down at the only open chairs (there aren’t many free chairs) and no one cares. So if you want a place to sit you have to rent a cabana. They start at $109 but if you get the $130 you get a bottle of liquor with it. It comes with cabana and most also come with 2 chairs. But it’s tacky that if you want a place to sit you have to pay extra. The rooms were nice and clean! We stayed for 5 nights and checked out and went to Cozumel for 2 days. Our shuttle to the airport was picking us up from this resort. We asked if we could leave our bags for 2 hours while we grabbed lunch. After spending $3,000 at this resort it didn’t feel like that big of an ask. But they said they couldn’t hold our luggage even if we paid. So really not up to Hilton standards. The location is great because you can go to downtown playa del Carmen anytime! It is a nice resort but we most likely won’t be back.

We were invited with friends to attend this resort for 7 days. I did not book it through their travel agent as I found better pricing through a Hilton Discount program. We made the reservation approximately 120 days prior to the trip and would not be charged until the 60 day mark per their terms. It turned out that we were not charged until 30 days prior to the trip (which would have been nonrefundable). Unfortunately, my credit card company marked the transaction as fraudulent - which caused the reservation to be in the process of being cancelled. I contacted Customer service which was completely useless. It turns out this resort is own by the "Playa" group of resorts. They own about 20 resorts or so in Mexico, Dominican and Bahamas. It appears you relay all info to a processing team in Mexico which is the Playa Group. There is a GIANT communication gap between these companies as Hilton operates the beginning portion of payment, and reservation. I then called CS after I received the declination email about the reservation. The worthless customer support assured me that the reservation team in Mexico would receive an email to recharge my card (I notified my bank that the transaction was legit). I waited a few days hoping all was well with the world and then I received a final reservation cancellation notice . I then called CS again who advised they would send another email to the reservation team for the resort. This representative was actually helpful, but appeared to indicate that this resort is owned by another organization but operates under the Hilton name. I waited all day the next day and received no call or email response. I ended up calling the resort front desk directly, who then after about 4 transfers go me to someone who was able to help. She was able to restore my reservation and told me they would charge my card. She also received supervisor approval to approve my reservation without payment just in case my card was declined again (which would mean I would just pay upon arrival). Unfortunately, this person - although helpful, did not put the proper notes in the file for my reservation indicating it was reinstated... But of course they made sure to charge my card and take my money... I arrived at the resort blissfully unaware there was an issue. I KNEW my card was charged and that I received a confirmation email. I went to check in and was told by "German" that my reservation was cancelled the night before and that a card refund was being processed. "German" told me that the customer (referring to me) had called and cancelled the night before. I explained that this was impossible and that I did not cancel. I also explained that I knew they would not be refunding my card as it would be against they payment terms of agreement as there are no refunds 30 days prior to the reservation. "German" was rude, unprofessional and treated me with a "F-U" type demeanor. I was essentially told too bad so sad despite showing him my confirmation email a d the charges on my card. I was panicked at this point. I was in another country, on a trip with friends, with nowhere to stay. I told him there must have been a mistake with the reservations department. He essentially said there wasn't, and that I could talk to them myself if I wished to do so. He didn't offer to call them, or even give me the number. I then demanded that we call them through the resort phone. After about 20 more minutes of disrespect and waiting, the reservation agent on the phone advised there was a mistake in the file notes. She was unaware why the reservation was reinstated, but not documented properly. "German" then begrudgingly gave me my room key and I didn't not have any other issues for the rest of the time.
