We loved our stay at the Secret Garden Hotel in Tulum! We enjoyed it so much we even extended our stay. Joshua was very helpful and the town itself is great, much more peaceful than Playa del Carmen without losing any conveniences. The hotel is lovely, with a beautiful courtyard and charming rooms. There was always hot water with good...

As everyone has mentioned, Joshua is great. Very helpful and friendly, he's a great host. We stayed in the orange room which is quite nice. Comes with speakers to play your music, a little kitchen area etc. We stayed for 2 nights and had planned to stay longer but unfortunately the birds were just too loud. That sounds silly in...

The Secret Garden is one of those places that you don't want to tell everyone about, because it's that special... yet you can't stop talking about it... because it's that unforgettable. Between their gracious, lovely, young and refreshing hosts, Joshua and Maura, to their bungalow style huts with private baths and maid service daily, to their wonderfully relaxing lounge area...

Joshua was very welcoming and helpful as we shared our Yucatan trip itinerary with him and he gave us great suggestions. Service is incredibly important when you're traveling in an unfamiliar place, so we put a premium on that. We stayed in the Orange Room, but a room with an air conditioner would have been more comfortable. The air conditioner...

Maura and Joshua gave us a very friendly and informative welcome about the hotel and the surrounding area. Secret garden is just that in the middle of Town. We awoke to the sound of the dawn chorus. The accomodation was very comfortable and had an eco theme running throughout. It was a welcome cool, peaceful end to busy days exploring....

I overnighted here March 28th, 2012, on my way from Belize to catch a plane home to London from Cancun. I can't speak for those who wanted to be closer to the beach, archaeological sites, etc. It's in the middle of town, very close to the bus station, which was great for me. The hosts are utterly charming, and work...

The Secret Garden hotel was perfectly located for exploring the town, being located only moments from the bottom of town meaning you could do the whole pueblo on foot. It was also only a 5 minute walk from the bus station. Joshua was very welcoming and friendly and greeted us with helpful information and a map of the local area,...

Staying at Secret Garden definitely made our time in Tulum so much more special. It's a place where little touches like fresh flowers in the room and candles you can actually use made us feel very welcome. Maura was an amazing host - she passed her passion about the region onto us and gave us best tips what to do,...

Secret Garden was a great place to stay right in Tulum a couple of blocks off of the busy main street. There is a lovely and quiet garden with couches and hammock to relax and take time out. The hosts were very helpful and friendly and spoke English. We had a room right at the front by the office and...
