Stayed one night with our two teenage sons and dog, although the dog had to sleep in our campervan as it wasn't allowed in (the only gripe I have...). We last visited before we had kids and the place has expanded and modernised. Great facilities and a great welcome from John. I highly recommend this hostel. Thank you John for...

Right in the middle of the village, next to a pub where they serve good food, close to the village shop. Very welcoming host and nice clean place. We enjoyed it very much! We had a great and relaxing time here! Not anything else to add, but I have to fill up the 200 words!

Really laidback atmosphere. Very spacious and clean with lots of space and a really good outside seating area. My friends were able to leave their heavy bags while they walk the Beara way which is really good of John!

The hostel doesn't look like anything special from the outside on the street, but don't judge a book by its cover. It's a wonderful place that just has an unassuming feel, clean facilities, and very welcoming, kind service. I arrived by bicycle on a nasty rainy day in early May, and it was the perfect place to warm up and...

We stayed in May 2016. It's a very nice hostel, spacious, bright, clean. A little pricey compared to other hostels - €45 for a shared room with two people and two twin beds. Shower and bathroom were fine, though there was no soap for washing hands. Kitchen area looks fine too.

We arrived in to Allihies late one night last week. John the manager was most helpful. We got a lovely double room upstairs and enjoyed the quiet welcoming atmosphere. The kitchen was very well equipped and John gave lots of advice in what to do around Allihies. We went on to Dursey Island for the day...All in all a good-value...

I stayed here from 26th Jul until 3rd Aug. Great location to base yourself for exploring the Beara peninsula and back up as far as Kenmare in South Kerry. Stunning scenery. The hostel is welcoming, warm, clean and very friendly. A haven of peace and tranquility (just to sit in the courtyard watching the birds tackling the nuts in the...

My boyfriend and I had three wonderful days in Allihies hiking around in sunny weather. The hostel itself is right next to the most popular pub in town. It has a nice kitchen, clean bedrooms, opportunities to eat outside and a very friendly host - John : )

I really love this hostel so much! I was here in June 2010 and June 2011, and both times it was very very quiet. In 2011 we had the dorm for ourselves; in 2010 I had to share it with 1 other woman. The kitchen is huge and very tidy with a enormous place to eat your food. The location...
